The Secret 8
After the call, they chatted with him on business related matters, which kept him at ease. Later, they had lunch together at his house and Phil left for Dover leaving Max behind to keep him company, while he waited for his colleague who would arrive by 3 PM.
At the Bailey International Conglomerates
After Jude supplied his details, Mr. Denise Bailey walked him to the car and assured him.
“Jude.”
“Yes, boss.”
“I will be glad if you push your past behind you and move on with your life.”
“I am fighting hard to do that, boss. How do I know that I will run into the man that I was part of the plan to kill, the father of the man who gave me life?”
Now, his was sobbing uncontrollably, and Denise felt for him.
“It is okay. I understand how you feel. You will heal faster if you remind yourself that it was not your fault and that you were only a victim of the war in your country. You got it?”
“I got it, boss.”
He remarked as he dried his tears and cheered up. He joined the driver, and they drove back to the Tourist Center. To Jude’s surprise, he was not burdened with his past anymore.
Now, Mr. Phil Anderson got to Dover and drove to see his father-in-law, who was on a call with the Head of Immigration over Jude’s case. He sat on the visitor’s seat and waited for him to get off the call before breaking the most dread news to him.
“Good day, father.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey read his expression which was not palatable before he responded.
“Good day, Phil. How was your trip?”
My trip was fine.”
He looked at his father-in-law, who was all ears, and he went ahead to give him the outcome of their visit to Dr. Kadon Quain and Louis. Now, Mr. Arthur Bailey was calm after listening to him and Phil went ahead to encourage.
“Father, you have to be strong and understand that there is nothing new under the sun….”
“That is a piece of good news.”
Mr. Phil Anderson who mistook his calmness for worries was shocked when he interrupted him and spoke. He watched him with excitement as he continued cheerfully.
“I think Olivia deserves another car. Louis wanted her to abort my grandchild, and she insisted on keeping it. This is the best news I have heard today. Thank you, Phil. You did a good job.”
The bewildered Phil who could not believe that he would see it from that perspective was relieved too. Then he announced.
“I will be on my way, father.”
“It is all right. Follow Dr. Quain up on the surgery and my regards to your family.”
“I will father.”
Now, after Denise left his father’s office, he walked back to his office fulfilled. Then, he ordered for the enlargement of the portrait of his grandfather, his late father, Mr. Williams Bailey, his father, himself and the Prime Minister for his office. After one hour he received the delivery and hung them in his office just as they were in the Chairman’s office. Subsequently, he got a call from the Chief of the Defense Staff of Dunforn South, informing him of his arrival. When Denise saw the caller, he comported himself before he picked.
“Hello, Admiral. How may I help you?”
“Good day, Mr. Bailey. I called to inform you that I am at the Tourist Center.”
“Oh! That is nice. Welcome to my country.”
“Thank you. I wish to refund the payment you made for my suite and logistics. Please furnish me with the bill.”
“Do not bother about that, Admiral. That is my treat. I promised to host you. Once more, you are welcome to Kent.”
Then, the Admiral looked around the lavishly furnished suite which can be equaled to their Prime Minister’s Lounge and looked at his Orderly who had been listening to their conversation and spoke.
“Oh! Mr. Bailey, I am most delighted. I will mention this gesture to my Prime Minister.”
“You are most welcome, Admiral. Please relax and take your rest. I will see you tomorrow in my office at 9 am. The driver will bring you.”
“It is all right, Mr. Bailey.”
Meanwhile, he tidied up for the day and gave his father a call. Mr. Arthur Bailey, who had him in the highest esteem, picked his call and greeted joyously.
“Hello, son. How may I help you?”
Denise, who was baffled by such a show of happiness, smiled and responded.
“Father, I wish to inform you that I will be closing at once. I need to check on my wife.”
“Was she not at work today with you?”
“No father. She needed to rest.”
“It is okay. Please take care of her and my grandchild.”
“I will, father. Regards to mom and see you tomorrow.”
“All right. Goodbye.”
Nevertheless, Denise gathered his stuff and headed to his house.
At Mr. Denise Bailey’s Apartment
After Mr. Phil Anderson left his father-in-law, he called his father and informed him that he was exhausted from his trip and needed to take a break. Instead of going to his office, he left for Denise house to pick his wife and son who had been with Olivia after they picked Daniel from his school with Olivia’s new car. He met them watching a movie and after the greetings, he sat on the couch pondering on the discussion he had with his father-in-law. From time to time, he would steal a glance at Olivia and murmur to himself.
“What was Louis thinking before sending a pregnant girlfriend away?”
Then, Olivia interrupted his thought and suggested.
“Uncle Phil, would you like to have your lunch alone, or would you like to wait for my husband? He would soon be back.”
“In that case, I would wait for him.”
“It is all right.”
Olivia accepted and continued with her movie. Just as she said, her husband drove in and Olivia abandoned her movie to meet him. Then, she met him speaking with someone over the phone. She sat quietly on the passenger’s seat and listened to their discussion.
“Welcome to my country, Admiral.”
