You Came Too Late 13

As a matter of facts, the shopping was for him because his wife would not take much, neither would he. Now, Tim served the snacks on the dinner table and Mr. Denise Bailey joined him.
“They have good popcorn.”
He pointed out as he chewed the popcorn while reading his countenance.
“Yes. Uncle. I am happy that you love it.”
Then, he put forward their previous discussion after setting his phone on record mode.
“Tim.”
“Yes, Uncle”
“You said that you would like to discuss whatever that is troubling you with me.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
“That is good. If I may ask, you hardly know me. We only met yesterday. Right?”
“You are right.”
“Why do you think I am the right person to discuss whatever that is troubling you with?”
Now, Tim looked down and hesitated before he looked up and said.
“You're a nice man and I like you.”
“Wow! Do you think I like you too?”
This time, he did not hesitate to respond and with emphasis.
“Yes. You like me.”
“You are correct. I like you. Right from the first time I saw you. Now, talk to me.”
“I am troubled because of my status as an illegitimate child. A child gotten outside wedlock.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey furrowed his brow and asked.
“Do people taunt you with it?”
“Yes, Uncle. My friends would not hesitate in using that against me.”
“Do you know your father?”
Now, Tim became emotional when he remembered that he could not respond to such question with boldness. All the same, he answered.
“Yes.”
“That is good. You see, no child is illegitimate. Every child has a father, even the test tube babies are a product of a father. Did you get me?”
“Yes.”
“Good. Don't think low of yourself anymore. Did you get me?”
“Yes uncle.”
Now, Tim was empowered, and he would see life from that angle. Then, Mr. Denise Bailey carried on.
“Tell me, who is your father?”
“I cannot tell you his name or where he came from.”
“Why?”
“Because I don't know. He is not to be trusted. He had given my mother and me different identities. It was when my mother saw him with the passport of different counties that she wrote him off and my mother chose to marry.”
To Tim's surprise, Mr. Denise Bailey did not show resentment when he said that his father could not be trusted rather, he maintained the same stolid expression as he was when they began their discussion. Then, he asked a question that made Tim to think that he was not listening to him all the while.
“When did you see your father last.”
“Last night and this afternoon.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey raised his eyebrows and asked again.
“Was that the reason the Police officers were at your house last night?”
“Yes.”
“I hope he did not attack your mom because she was getting married?”
“I don't think he was aware of the marriage. I think it was just a coincidence.”
“I see.”
“I think the police officers were attracted when he ran out of the house.”
“Ran out! Why?”
“I chased him away.”
They remained silent for a while before Mr. Denise Bailey asked
“So what are your plans?”
“I wish to further my education.”
“It is all right. I am pleased to see you cheerful. Keep it up. You are born to win.”
“Thank you, Uncle.”
Tim smiled and appreciated. They remained on the dinner table. Tim was chewing his popcorn cheerfully and overburdened with how to make his next request. He was able to have his way the previous night to spend the night in the suite because it was available. Now, his next request may not be as easy as that.
Meanwhile, Mr. Denise Bailey had sent their discussion to his father and remained on the dining table, hoping to hear him make a request that would make their ancestors happy. Suddenly, Tim, called out.
"Uncle.”
At the Rock Bay Inn
While Mr. Stephen Bailey was lying on the bed resting and pondering on the events of the previous night and that day, he was not aware that a meeting was going on in the Inn because of him.
At the Meeting Venue.
The drivers who drove him the previous night to the Inn, to Madam Ann Princewiil's house and subsequently back to the Inn was seated. The driver for that day, the passengers who boarded the taxi at the airport the previous day which emboldened him to board one, were there. The two men at the court were there too, and some police detectives from Kent.
Then, the head of the team spoke.
“Gentlemen, I must commend you for a good job.”
“Thank you, boss.”
“As you can see, the two people connected to him in Bricks Mont are not his acquaintances. They were not connected with his numerous criminal activities. Or what do you to say, Mr. Stargate?”
“Thank you, boss. You are right. When I took him to a house in Church Hill last night, I packed and waited to see what his mission there was. To my surprise, he ran out of the house panting. I picked him again and brought him back to the in.”
Then another person asked.
“Mr. Stargate, are you saying that he did not visit another place after he was chased out of the house?”
“You are right, Sir. I brought him back to the Inn.”
“Mr. Eden, can we hear your report?”
“Thank you, boss. My report is the same with Mr. Stargate. He was given the same treatment at the court. In my opinion, the woman and the boy are not part of his criminal activities.”
“Thank you. Without any other thing, I think we have to return to Kent at once.”
“I agree with you, boss.”
“Good. I want to appreciate you, Mr. Muhammad, for your Company Taxis. We are grateful.”
“Do not mention. No sacrifice is too much to make for the security and safety of our nation. We wish to see a world that is void of criminals.”
