All Eyes on Mr. Arthur Bailey
Before, now, such idle talk hurt her, especially when she remembered that Mr. Arthur Bailey kept ignoring her. Now, she would absorb such comment and keep her head high as the legitimate and famous First Lady of the Bailey's Family. So, she did not give their idle talks a thought, and she concentrated on handing out the packs to her colleagues and her friends cheered her up.
“Thank you, Nichole, you are the best. Congratulations. I am wishing you a blissful marriage life.”
“Thank you.”
“Congratulations, Nichole.”
Soon, they all dispersed. Mrs. Nichole and the janitor took two packs to the superior, who appreciated her gesture. She returned to her office and waited for her shift, which would resume by noon. Then, she realized that she had goofed up. There were no packs for her teammates who would resume very soon and her phone became essential to her. When she settled down, she pondered.
'Where did Zoey go with my car yesterday?'
At Mr. Stephen Bailey's Residence.
The fear stricken Mrs. Zoey Bailey thought that the voices and movements she heard were from the apartment where she was confined, and she became still. If only she knew that those voices and movements were from Mr. Stephen's neighbors, who would help her out. At that point, she crawled to the bathroom to conceal herself from the abductors.
The last food she had was the breakfast she had on Monday morning. To sustain her system, she began to drink the water from the bathroom tap and helped herself with the toilet when she was pressed.
At The Mr. Stephen Bailey's Resort
After the staff of Mr. Stephen Bailey collected the petition from Barrister Guidance, he took it to the Boss at the underground, and he met him having his late breakfast.
“Good morning, boss. There is a message for you.”
He looked up from his plate and looked at the staff and asked while collecting it.
“Who brought it?”
“I don't know, boss, and he came with two policemen.”
Mr. Stephen Bailey unsealed the sealed envelope and perused the petition while the staff stood by. His partner studied his unreadable countenance. Subsequently, he ordered the staff that was standing by and waiting for the next instruction.
“You can, leave.”
“All right boss.”
Mr. Stephen Bailey looked at his partner and hinted.
“Who has the time to waste on dialogue? I will do my thing as I deem fit.”
The partner, who could not decipher his statement, inquired.
“I didn't get you, boss. What did you say?”
“Never mind. It was just a family squabble.”
At the Bailey International Conglomerates.
Mr. Arthur Bailey was on a high spirit when he got to his office, and his secretary noticed it. Then, she welcomed him enthusiastically.
“Good morning boss. The joy around you, today, is overwhelming. What is new?”
The frenzied Mr. Arthur Bailey, who just discovered that he must have been incautious by allowing his joy to bleed into his carriage, cautioned himself at once. Then, he responded as he walked to his office to avoid more discoveries from his secretary.
“Good morning, Mrs. Felix. How are you today?”
“I am fine, boss. What is new?”
She inquired as she walked after him. He opened his office and walked in, and Mrs. Felix followed suit. When he took his seat, the inquisitive secretary attempted to take her seat too, but he dismissed her cheerfully.
“You can return to your office. I am fine.”
“It is all right, boss. I thought I would hear that you have finally recognized how much Nichole loves you.”
She walked back to her office at once and shut the door behind her. Mr. Arthur Bailey looked at the closed door with incredulous surprise for a few seconds and muttered.
'Everyone seemed to be aware of how much she loved me.'
Now, he picked his phone to give his wife a call, but discovered that it was still switched off.
“Oh. Her phone is at home and switched off.”
He smiled and called Mrs. Felix back.
'After all, I asked her to flaunt that we are married, why won't I flaunt it?'
“Yes, boss. You called me.”
He looked at her and smiled before he asked.
“How do you know that Nichole loves me?”
The Secretary chuckled
“It is obvious. Many men wanted her, but she hid under you to scare them off. It became a mockery on her part when you fail to recognize that she loves you.”
“It is all right. I am glad that I did not disappoint her. You may wish to know that we got married this morning.”
“Wow! I knew that there was something extraordinary about this morning. Congratulations. Please take care of her. Her love has triumphed.”
“Thank you for your wishes. I won't let her down.”
Mrs. Felix returned to her office to intensify her efforts in warding off the female staff members whom she knew had interest in her boss.
Afterwards, Mr. Arthur Bailey settled down to work, to his bewilderment, he saw an alert of the payment made by Mr. Rex Edmonton that day, and he exclaimed.
“Wow! This is good. Double blessing for today.”
Then, he put a call through to Louis, who picked the moment it connected.
“Hello father. Are you out of the registry?”
“Yes. Over an hour ago.”
“Wow! That is good. Best wishes. I am so sorry that I could not be present”
“It is all right. Your siblings represented you.”
“That is good. Congratulations once again.”
“Thank you. I saw an alert of the payment.”
“Yes, father. We concluded the deal and he paid.”
“I'm so proud of you, son. Keep it up.”
“Thank you father. I'm happy I made you happy.”
“Okay. See you later.”
Now, Mr. Louis Bailey logged in to the family platform to take a look at the pictures from the marriage ceremony. Then, his eyes went straight to his Olivia who was standing beside her husband, Denise, while Mr. Arthur Bailey and Nichole were standing in the middle. Freya and her husband were also standing at the other side of the couple. He zoomed the photograph and fixed his eyes on Olivia's baby bump, which had protruded for a few seconds before he noticed that he was tearing up. To his surprise, Olivia was looking chubby and more beautiful, and her smile was captivating as usual.
'Today, she is happy, while I am sad. Irony of life. I was smoking nonchalantly, while she was weeping the day she left my house.'
Then, his secretary who he was working on a file with him before his father's call came in and walked back to her office to give him the time to speak with his father walked back to his office. To her perturbation, he was not aware that she walked into the office. He was staring at his phone while tears flowed freely down his cheek.
She walked back to her seat and did the only thing that she could think of, to call Dr. Quain.
At The Government Hospital.
The haters of Mrs. Nichole Bailey hated her for one reason. They saw her as a distraction to Mr. Arthur Bailey, whom they believed was torn between two opinions. Whether to marry Nichole or date another woman. The fact that Mr. Arthur Bailey did not return her love gave credence to their assumptions. Nichole, who was close to him, knew his problem, he would never get over his late wife. Since she had gotten married to her ugly duckling, they were free to seduce Mr. Arthur Bailey.
After they left her office, her two foes gathered at Evelyn White's office. She had been in an open relationship, while the other, Lorene Walker, was a single mother of fifty-five years.
“This is your chance, Lorene, If you must be the first lady of the Bailey's family.”
“You are right, Evelyn Whyte now that she is out of the way. I will visit his office after I get off work.”
“Yes, make hay, while the sun shine. You are privileged to hear about her marriage early enough. Besides, you are hot, savvy and more confident.”
“You got it. He can never be attracted to babies like Nichole, who knew nothing but to babysit.”
“Ha ha ha.”
At noon, she got off work and headed to the Bailey international Conglomerates. She chose to pay him a visit with her work uniform because anything could happen that could hinder her chances of meeting him that day before she would get home to change.
At the Bailey International Conglomerates
Now, Mrs. Felix was the Secretary who served Mr. Williams Bailey, the late husband of Mrs. Nichole Bailey and the senior brother of Mr. Arthur Bailey. She was in her late fifties and very conversant with the Bailey's family. She was a few months old in the organization when Mr. Williams Bailey married Nichole and later, Mr. Arthur Bailey got married to Rosy. That day, she was glad to witness another marriage in the Bailey's family.
Meanwhile, Lorene had arrived at the gate of the Bailey International Conglomerates. She honked and waited for the security guards to open the gate. The security guards observed her and the car and discovered that she was not a regular visitor. Then one of them walked up to her and inquired.
