The Return of a Kinsman 2
Likewise, he decided to give his wife a call. So, he dialed the number and heard it rang. To his annoyance, her phone was in the bedroom.
“What is the meaning of this?”
He blurted out.
“Could she have gone to check on her parents? But she should have kindly let me know.”
Then, he sat down on the couch to steady himself because he was becoming dizzy. Then, he remembered the monster in his dream and jolted from the chair. Likewise, the thought of calling her parents crossed his mind and he refuted it.
“How can I call her parents? What if she is not there? I would have created more problem for myself.”
He rested his head on the couch. Then, an idea occurred to him.
“I can pay her parents a visit and find out things for myself.”
The idea seemed good to him, and he picked up his phone and gave Mr. Finnegan a call. He waited impatiently for him to pick, but to his disappointment, he did not pick. Now, his phone rang, and it was his mother-in-law. Then, he picked her call with a mixed feeling.
“Why is she calling?”
He mumbled before he greeted.
“Hello, Mom. Good morning.”
“Good morning, my son. How are you?”
She responded cheerfully. Then Mr. Denise Bailey became cheerful too and replied.
“I'm fine, mom. And you?”
“I'm fine. I called to appreciate you for your gesture to Tim.”
“You don't need to worry, mom. It is my pleasure.”
“I see. Have you sorted out his visa issues?”
“Yes mom. It is sorted out.”
“It is okay. My regards to Your Angel. I will speak with her later.”
At that moment, Mr. Denise Bailey was overwrought. He fixed his eyes on the space and stared on until his mother-in-law cut.
“What! Where could they be?”
Now, he stood up and set out to walk out of his suite while giving Mr. Finnegan a call. He picked the suite swipe lock with his right hand while holding his phone with his left hand. Then, the call got through and Mr. Finnegan picked.
“Hello, Mr. Bailey. We are driving into the Resort.”
Mr. Finnegan response was a relief to him. But, who are the ‘we'? He responded all the same and said.
“Okay.”
Then, he got off the suite, locked the door and began to walk to the elevator. Now, he merely wished to see Mr. Finnegan and find out what he meant by 'we'. Soon, he got off the elevator, walked through the lounge and got to the vestibule. He looked towards the gate and saw different cars driving in, but he could not dictate which of them belonged to Mr. Finnegan. Suddenly, Mr. Finnegan stopped in his front and his cheerful wife and little cousin got off the car at once.
“Hubby, I can see that you are awake.”
His wife said when she walked up to him at the step where he was standing and held his hand playfully.
“Good morning, Uncle.”
Tim greeted cheerfully as he walked to the trunk of the car with Mr. Finnegan to get his little luggage for the trip. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey could read the handwriting on the wall, and he was able to understand what the siblings did. He placed his right hand in his wife's shoulders and smiled before he responded.
“Yes. I'm up. Welcome back.”
“Thank you.”
Now, Tim had gotten his luggage out of the car trunk and walked up to them and repeated his greeting.
“Good morning, uncle.”
“Good morning, Tim. I hope you slept well?”
“Yes, uncle.”
“Thank you, Mr. Finnegan.”
Mr. Denise Bailey appreciated the driver who was walking back to the car, and he responded with a merry heart.
“Don't mention, Mr. Bailey.”
He got into the car and drove off while Mr. Denise Bailey and his family returned to the suite.
“Hubby, you have not had your breakfast.”
“Yes. I will have it now.”
He concealed his anxiety, cheered up and began to eat. Likewise, his wife sat beside him while Tim took his luggage to his room.
In the Bedroom
After the breakfast, Mr. Denise Bailey instructed Tim, who had returned to the parlor after getting his stuff parked in his trolley bag.
“Tim.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
“Place order for lunch. Let them know that we need it at 12:30 Pm. Did I make myself clear?”
“Yes, Uncle.”
“We are proceeding to the airport by 1:30 Pm.”
“I got it, Uncle.”
Tim replied with glee. He had been responsible for placing order for meals since he came, and he was glad to be of help. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey walked back to the room and his wife, who was oblivious of her offense, followed behind.
“Why did you leave your phone behind when you were going out?”
He asked after they had settled down.
“I wanted to avoid disturbing you by opening the door. We would have been back before you wake up if not for the protesters on the road who delayed us.”
“Protesters?”
“Yes, Hubby. But they were dispersed at once by the police.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey became interested in her explanations and asked.
“What are their grievances?”
“I would not know. The driver should know better.”
“By the way, how did you get the driver's contact?”
“I don't have his contact.”
“How did you get him to take you out?"
“When I asked Tim how he intended to get his luggage, he said he would wait for you to wake up. I felt that would delay our movement, so I suggested that we should go and look for Mr. Finnegan. Luckily, he drove towards us.”
“That was very thoughtful of you. You don't have any idea why the protesters were on the road.”
“Nope.”
She responded dispassionately and laid on her husband's chest. If only she was aware that leaving Bricks Mont for Kent was not as simple as she anticipated.
“Let me find out why the protesters were on the road.”
Mr. Denise Bailey announced as he picked up his phone and gave Mr. Finnegan a call, when he picked, he greeted.
