The Epiphany 7

Now, Miss Harriet David was speechless and Mr. Henry Taylor smiled as he listened to them. Then, Mr. Fields continued.
“Harriet, don’t let it bother you. I will find out whether he was not at your place because he was not happy with you. Did you get me?”
“I got you, Godfather. Thank you.”
“You are welcome, Harriet. See you later.”
“Goodbye.”
Mr. Fields looked at Henry who was surprised but was smiling and asked.
“Have you been patronizing her restaurant?”
“Certainly.”
“Apart from that, have you been relating with her?”
“Not really, only the online game that we play every night.”
“Every night? But how do you see her as a person?”
Mr. Fields looked at Mr. Henry Taylor, who refused to give him a response as he continued with his meal. He continued with his meal too. When they were through, he broached the topic again and waited for his reaction.
“If you are not too busy, we can pay her a visit. She may be the lady that we are looking for.”
Now, Mr. Henry Taylor did not respond, but he complied. They got off the house and drove to the Food Planet Restaurant and parked at the car park. Now, Mr. Nicholas Fields set out to pull a prank by asking.
“Henry, we can go back if you are not willing to see her.”
“We are already here, Godfather. Let’s just see her.”
They got off the car and walked into the restaurant and Henry walked to the VVIP section where he sat with Mr. Arthur Bailey and his guests the last time he visited. Meanwhile, Harriet, who had been distraught, walked with them along with a waiter who wished to take their order.
“You can leave. I will take the order.”
Miss Harriet David dismissed the waiter because she felt they may not need food since Henry had had his lunch elsewhere.
“You are welcome.”
She greeted as she took her seat and fixed her guess on Henry. They observed that her eyes were swollen even though she attempted to cover up.
“Thank you.”
Mr. Nicholas Fields responded.
“How was your day, Harriet?”
Mr. Henry Taylor inquired as he gave her a searching look. She smiled and responded sharply.
“Fine.”
Now, the atmosphere was becoming mechanical and Mr. Nicholas Fields wished to liven it up, so he spoke.
“Henry, why are you not happy with Harriet?”
Likewise, Mr. Henry Taylor caught the joke and replied by facing Harriet.
“Harriet, what made you think that I am not happy with you?”
She could not help but laughed heartily, as though she had never been moody. Then, Henry, who had gotten the wind of her feelings, set out to make her happy. So he asked.
“What do you have for me? Eating elsewhere had left me starving.”
Now, Miss Harriet David was delighted to hear that. She got up quickly and announced.
“I will be back.”
She walked away briskly, and Mr. Fields had the opportunity to asked Henry some questions.
“What did you observe?”
He gave Mr. Fields an assuring look, and he continued.
“She is a nice lady. If the two of you come together, I will throw a party and shame Sir Relish and his daughter.”
The truth was that he was more offended than Henry and his parents in what he called an emotional abuse. If there was a feud between the two, Whitney should have respected him and report Henry to him.
“I will not fail you, God father. Thank you for guiding my steps.”
“That is my role as a Godfather.”
After a few seconds, Miss Harriet David arrived with a waiter carrying their meal, which was different from what he was used to. She sat and chatted with them while they ate joyously. To impress her, Mr. Henry Taylor over fed himself and finished his meal. Then he requested.
“Can I have the bill, please?”
“No. You don’t need to bother. It is my treat.”
“I insist. This is a business place. Friends and relations must settle their bills if the business must thrive. Did you get me, Harriet?”
He lectured with a sense of business written all over his face.
“I Got it. Thank you, Henry. Thank you, Godfather.”
Afterwards, the waiter brought the bill, and he settled it before they left. She walked them to the car park and watched them got into the car.
“Goodbye.”
“Goodbye.”
She watched them disappear into the road, and she returned to her office, happy.
At Mr. Henry Taylor’s House.
After they got off the restaurant, they returned to Mr. Nicholas Fields's house, and he picked his car.
“Congratulations, Henry. I am happy for you.”
“Thank you Godfather. I will not let her slip off my hands again.”
“It is all right. I have no doubt that the two of you will succeed. Goodbye.”
“Goodbye.”
He drove back to his office, trying hard to restrain himself from believing that he had gotten a wife.
“What if it is not what she had in mind?”
“What if she called because she was afraid of losing a client?”
Too many ‘what ifs’ occupied his thought. Finally, he was at his office. He worked for some time and closed for the day. Then, he got home tired and his mind was still beclouded with many doubts. The thought of how he met Whitney and how she walked out on him that day was still fresh in his mind. He did his best to brush off the thoughts of her and carry on. Afterwards, he settled down and waited for his online game with Harriet.
“What if she refused to come online tonight?”
He waited patiently and when it was time, he logged in, but she was not online. Now, he became apprehensive. Meanwhile, Miss Harriet David was also having the same ‘what if’ feelings.
“What if he does not feel the same way I feel? I will give him a break and watch his reaction.”
With this decision, she decided not to login for the online game. Now, Mr. Henry Taylor was getting upset as many negative thoughts ran through his head.
