New Phase 7
“What will the rest of your day be like?”
Mr. Louis Bailey gave him a searching look before he responded.
“I will continue with my work. I was actually working when they came.”
“It is all right. Do you mind coming over to my place for lunch, or do I bring my wife and daughter over?”
“Let me not stress you and your family. I will go over with you.”
He declared as he stood up to walk to his room. The doctor gave him a sympathetic look. It occurred to him that Mr. Louis, like his father, was an easy-going person, but the problem he had at hand had affected him adversely. Soon, he joined him, and they left for Dr. Quain’s house.
At the Tourist Center
Mr. Nicholas Fields drove off with a great relief. Right from the day Denise informed him of the Cold War between him and Louis, he had been worried. Now, he believed that the matter had been resolved. After driving for a few minutes in silence, he spoke.
“Thank you, Denise, for taking the initiative to visit your brother. That was thoughtful of you.”
Denise chuckled and said.
“You are welcome, Godfather. If I don’t take the initiative, things may remain unresolved, and that is how a family squabble begins.”“You are right. But, why did you hit him?”
“Because he deserved it. I made up my mind to hit him, whether for good or bad because I must put an end to this rubbish today.”
Mr. Field looked at him before he returned his eyes to the road. Then he asked.
“Did he hit you back?”
“Hit me back?” He dare not try it, or I will kill him.”
“Then he is gentler than you are if he did not hit you back.”
Mr. Denise Bailey became ashamed of himself. Mr. Fields who knew that he had gotten him spoke on.
“You are adults. You don’t settle feuds with a fight. Imagine if he had hit you back, the essence of our visit would have been defeated.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey could not utter a word, so Mr. Fields continued.
“Besides, you do not know his health condition. Imagine if he had fainted. Next time, avoid violence as much as possible. Did you get me?”
“I got you, godfather. I am sorry.”
“Good. You can do the same to your brother. He deserves an apology.”
“I will do that. Thank you.”
“You are welcome. All the same, you did very well. You have succeeded in securing your position as his senior brother, and he will always remember that. I am proud of you.”
“I appreciate, Godfather.”
At a few minutes to noon, they were at the Tourist Center and the Security Officer accompanied them to the Cinema Hall. They walked in and saw Daniel making uncommon music with the piano, and his mini audience were thrilled. Then, Mr. Denise Bailey sat beside his wife who was already tired of standing and recording Daniel, so she handed her phone to Jude Addy who was coaching him on the uncommon song. He was close to getting it, but Jude Addy who was coaching him and recording at the same time wanted perfection. The moment Daniel saw his uncle, he became cranky, stopped the music half way and informed his instructor.
“I want to see my uncle”
“Oh! My God.”
His mini audience exclaimed as he got off the stage and ran to his uncle. Mr. Denise Bailey and Mr. Nicholas Fields were surprised at their exclamation. He gave them a searching look and his wife explained.
“He was almost getting it.”
Now, Daniel was already in the arms of his uncle after he gave him a hug. Jude Addy who only looked up to see where Daniel was heading to was surprised to see him with his boss. He discovered for the first time that he had been with the family of his boss, and the woman he was working with was his boss’s wife. He got down the stage and walked to the boss and greeted.
“Good morning, boss.”
“How are you, Jude. I can see that you are my nephew’s camera man.”
He smiled bashfully and explained.
“Not really, boss. I was only helping out.”
“Uncle, he is not a cameraman, he is the coach.”
“Really? Thank you, Jude.”
“Do not mention, boss.”
“Welcome back, hubby. How was your outing?”
“Our outing was fine.”
She looked at Mr. Fields who sat quietly at the pew behind them and greeted too.
“Good to see you, Mr. Fields.”
“Angel, how are you?”
“I am fine. Welcome.”
They halted the recording and welcomed Mr. Denise Bailey and Mr. Nicholas Fields. That interlude gave Daniel the opportunity to get some relieves as he jumped from Mr. Denise Bailey to Mr. Nicholas Fields, who he gave hugs.
“What is the situation, Angel? Are you done with the recording?”
“No, hubby. It is remaining one music, and we are done.”
“That is good. I know Daniel will do well after he had rested. And after the recording, we will go for a horseback ride.”
Now, Daniel’s eyes shone in excitement. He ran back to the stage in excitement and picked up his guitar. Jude, who was chatting with his friends left them, walked to Olivia and collected her phone after she turned it on.
“Good job, Jude.”
“Thank you madam.”
He appreciated as he took off to join Daniel on the stage. Soon, Daniel began to play and Mr. Jude began to record. But there was a movie director in the house, and he halted the recording.
“Cut.”
Jude Addy, who was startled, cut the recording at once and Daniel stopped too.
“You cannot get a clear, cohesive video if you stand on the same stage with him. You must get the three basic camera shots. Now come down and stand beneath the stage. I will direct you on what to do.”
Mr. Nicholas Fields Directed as he got up from his seat and walked up to them. Now, Jude had come down from the stage, and he looked at the camera. He turned to Denise and inquired.
“What of the stage lights? The stage is dark.”
The workers who were watching by the side turned on the stage lights immediately. Mr. Phil Anderson looked at Denise and remarked.
“When a professional is in the house.”
Denise responded.
“The difference would always be there.”
“Now, Daniel. If you don’t get it now, the horses would not allow you to ride on their backs.”
Mr. Nicholas Field remarked as he turned to Daniel. Then, the determined Daniel set out to do his best and the cameraman was ready too. Soon, Daniel began. Jude, who was a good and a fast learner, did a good job and Daniel got the music at once. While the mini audience was clapping, he dropped his piano and ran to his uncle lest the horses would reject him. Jude helped to pack his piano into the bag and took it to Olivia as he handed over her phone to her.
“Thank, you Jude for helping out.”
“It is my pleasure, madam.”
He responded cheerfully and returned to his colleagues, who just turned off the stage light.
“Jude De Pianist.”
They teased. He smiled cheerfully and took his seat beside them.
“Do you know that boy?”
Bright, one of his colleagues asked.
“Yes. I just discovered that he is the boss’s nephew.”
“Is that all you know about him?”
Now, his colleagues who thought that he was helping out just to be identified with an internet star gave him a questioning look. He looked back at them too.
“Yes. What else am I supposed to know about him?”
They giggled and Bright responded.
“That is Daniel De Pianist. We just discovered that he was the boss’s nephew today. We thought you were aware”
Now, the bewildered Jude who had not accessed the internet since Mr. Louis Bailey bought his piano for him asked.
“What are you talking about?”
When it became obvious to them that he was lost, Patrick volunteered to show him Daniel’s Page on the internet.
“Look at the boy, you just assisted.”
“Wow! I am just seeing this. Thank you, Patrick.”
“Don’t mention.”
Now, the family got up to leave the cinema hall while Denise was holding his wife with his left hand and Daniel with his right hand. Then, Jude looked at them gleefully as they walked on. Denise looked at Mr. Phil Anderson, who understood the look and nodded in the positive. Jude had just earned himself an additional job, which meant an additional income.
They moved to the horse stable just to please Daniel. The sun was already up and not too convenient, but the ride had to take place for a few minutes and subsequently, they settled down at the restaurant and had their lunch. Then, Mr. Denise Bailey asked the Security Officer to send for Jude Addy, and he did. When he learned that the boss needed him, he walked to the restaurant in trepidation, where he met them sitting together on a table.
