The Epiphany 5
Denise had simply responded to his message with one sentence.
(I will be glad if we will meet in the office by 10 am.)
Now. Jude Addy arrived at his office as early as possible, not knowing what to expect. When he got into Denise office, he read his countenance at once and was glad that there was calmness in his expression. Then, he greeted.
“Good morning, Boss. Good to see you.”
Mr. Denise Bailey welcomed him cheerfully and ushered him to a seat.
“Good morning, Jude. Please, take your seat.”
“Thank you, boss.”
After he took his seat, Mr. Denise Bailey looked at him and set out to make him feel at ease and teased.
“You don’t look cheerful. Is anything bothering you?”
He smiled softly and responded.
“No, boss.”
“That is good. How is the tutorial with my nephew going?”
“He is doing on well.”
“I see. What would you do if your immigration status is legalized?”
Now, Jude’s face beamed with happiness. Before that time, he would have gladly said that he would look for a decent job, but now, he had a good job, and he was happy with it. Now, he could not think of anything else. Then he said.
“I will be happy that I am no longer an illegal immigrant.”
“I see. Congratulations. Here are your documents. You are no longer an illegal immigrant.”
Now, Jude was unable to control his excitement as he looked through his papers while Denise looked at him with glee.
“Thank you, boss. I cannot appreciate you enough.”
“You are welcome. I will extend your appreciation to the Chairman.”
“It is all right, boos.”
“In case you don’t know what to do now, I will suggest that you return to school, or what do you think?”
“I have it in mind, but I am considering the fees and my job.”
“We will talk about that later. I am glad to hear that you have the interest.”
“It is okay, boss.”
“Congratulations once again. You can go.”
“Thank you, boss.”
Now, Jude Addy left the office as a legal immigrant. He joined the driver who had been waiting, and they drove back to the Tourist Center. At 9. 50 am, Admiral Charles Twist and his Orderly were at Mr. Denise Bailey’s reception. Then, his secretary informed him that he had visitors, and he requested her to usher them in.
“Good morning, Mr. Bailey. Good to see you.”
They greeted the moment they got in. To Mr. Denise Bailey’s dismay, he saw an emaciated and sober Admiral Charles Twist. He did not hide his astonishment when he responded to his greeting.
“Good morning, Admiral Twist. You don’t look good. I hope there is no problem.”
He smiled sadly and responded.
“I am fine. I had a series of Zoom meetings last night, and it affected my seeping schedule.”
“I see. Please, take your seats.”
“Thank you.”
“I can understand how you feel. The truth remains that this is a course that you have to fight for once and for all. Posterity and humanity will appreciate you for this.”
“You are right, Mr. Bailey. Our greatest challenge is how to get our opponent to accept our peace move.”
Now, Admiral Charles Twist looked at the portrait of Mr. Denise Bailey’s grandfather and wished that he would come back to life and prevail on their opponent to accept their peace move. Then, Denise assured him.
“Do not bother so much about your opponent. Now that you have accepted to reconcile on mutual ground, the problem is half solved.”
Then he checked his CCTV and saw Admiral Fabian Jacob walked into his office. He called out to his secretary and requested.
“Kindly usher the Admiral in.”
“Okay, boss.”
Now, Admiral Twist and his Orderly were astonished. They exchanged glances with each other before looking at Mr. Denise Bailey, who seemed less concerned. They swallowed hard and began to look out for the Admiral who would walk in. Soon, they beheld their opponent right in the same office with them. Admiral Jacob and his Orderly were as surprised as Admiral Charles Twist and his Orderly. To break the awkward moment, Mr. Denise Bailey greeted.
“Good morning, Admiral Jacob. You are welcome.”
Admiral Jacob gave Mr. Denise Bailey a searching look before he looked at the two guests before him and responded coldly.
“Good morning to you, Mr. Bailey. Good to see you.”
“Shall we move to the Conference Table?”
He announced as he got off his seat and began to walk to the conference table. Then, he opened his door and invited the Tea Boy.
“Come and take our visitors’ orders, please.”
“All right, boss.”
He ushered his dumbfounded guests to the conference table and watched them take their seats accordingly without a word. Now, the Tea Boy walked in and requested for their brands.
“Tea or coffee, Sirs.”
Mr. Denise Bailey, who was still standing, looked at them for their responses before he took his seat. Then he began.
At Sevenoaks
After the Dinner the previous night, Max, and his friends became acquainted with Mr. Rex Edmonton and his friends, and the meeting exposed them to more business ideas and opportunities. On Friday morning, Max’s friends left for the Airport and at 10 am, Mr. Rex Edmonton arrived at Mr. Louis Bailey’s office with his four friends. They took a trip to the two hundred and thirty hectares of land which they wished to possess. At last, they returned to the office and closed the deal. The excited Louis, who did not wish to be alone, arranged for lunch. That day seemed to be his happiest day.
After the lunch, he returned to the office with Max, who was monitoring him all the while. He observed that he had the attitude of a man who had just written his testament and was waiting for his death. Then, he engaged him in a conversation.
“Congratulation, Louis. I am proud of you.”
With a false smile, he appreciated.
“Thank you. Brother-in-law. I am grateful that you are by my side.”
“Do not think much about it. I can extend my stay to the coming week.”
Now, he fixed his gaze on Louis to read his countenance. To his expectation, he declined.
“No. That will be asking for too much. I would not wish my sister and niece to miss you for too long.”
“It is all right. I will leave on Sunday as we had planned.”
“That will be fine.”
