The Wedding Day 3
The doctor walked out with the speed of a cheetah, like a man who was about to lose a precious son. He had bonded with Mr. Louis Bailey beyond staff and boss relationship due to his plight and now, he called his number but, to his chagrin, it was off.
“Mr. Bailey, please, don't do what all of us would regret.”
He said as he rested on the door of his car at the registry car park.
Currently, the couple who was smiling was ready for photographs with relatives and friends.
“Congratulations. I'm so happy for you.”
Mr. And Mrs. McGregor greeted as they gave the couple a hug.
“Thank you, Mom and Dad.”
Other family members followed suit. When they began to pose for photographs, Mr. Arthur Bailey asked.
“Where is the best man?”
The other family members who sighted him when he walked into the registry began to look around and testified.
“I saw him when he walked in.”
“He was here. I saw him.”
“Yes, though he walked in late. But he was around.”
Now, Julie and Freya became worried because they were certain that they saw him.
“How could he just disappear?”
Julie asked.
“I am surprised, too. Could he have gone to the gents?”
Freya asked as they walked out of the registry to the gents which were outside the registry auditorium and checked on him, to their consternation, he was there. They became apprehensive when they attempted calling him, but his phone was switched off.
“What is the meaning of this? How can he switch off his phone?”
Freya asked dejectedly while Julie advised
“Don't let Denise and Angel know about this, please. Let this not ruin their day.”
“Mhhh! But, where could he be?”
They cheered up and joined the rest in the photography session.
Denise and Olivia were so happy that they were finally married. They rounded up the photography session and proceeded to their honeymoon destination. Mr. Arthur Bailey and Mrs. Nichole Bailey took their guests for lunch.
Now, Freya and Julie had covered up the worrisome absence of Louis from Denise and Olivia until they left for their honeymoon destination. Then, they assisted their parents in giving the guests a treat, but Freya's husband, Mr. Phil Anderson, who noticed that his wife was fretting, queried anxiously.
“Baby, what is the matter?”
Freya's eyes became wet instantly as she responded.
“We can't find Louis and his phone is switched off.”
Her husband became disturbed too and confirmed.
“I am certain that I saw him walk into the registry while the ceremony was going on.”
“Yes. We all saw him.”
Mr. Phil Anderson gave an assuring smile before he encouraged his wife.
“Calm down. Have you called Denise house? He must have been tired from his trip and decided to go there and rest. He may switch off his phone to avoid disturbances”
Mr. Phil Anderson's opinion gave Freya some hope.
“You are right, hubby. We have not thought of that.”
She quickly called John, Denise's security guard, and her husband watched her impatiently. At once, John picked up the call.
At The Island
“Wow! This is angelic.”
Olivia exclaimed when they arrived at the Tourist Center which Denise Bailey had chosen for their honeymoon after a one-hour drive. It was situated on an island. The unpolluted air and the ambience is paradisiacal. Olivia looked around when she got off the vehicle after Denise opened the door for her.
“Do you like the place?”
“I can't ask for more than this. Thank you, hubby.”
Denise Bailey cast a surprise glance at her over the new title. It was still strange to him, and he could not believe that he was already married to the woman he loved. Thirty days ago, he was lamenting before his Godfather and today, his dream had come true. He held her right hand and requested.
“Come with me.”
They walked to the suite that was reserved for them, and Olivia was awestruck when she walked into the parlor. The dining table was decked up with assorted bottles of wine and food. The parlor was dimly lit. She looked at Denise, who was admiring her and.
“I know your choice would be great.”
“Thank you, wifey, for believing in me.”
It was time for Olivia to be surprised over her new title. Denise pulled her closer and looked into her eyes and declared.
“Tonight is the night that we have been waiting for.”
She nodded and he kissed her temple and announced.
“Come, let us change.”
Olivia screamed.
“We did not come with any clothes. What are we going to change into.”
Denise teased while they walked into the bedroom.
“Do people wear clothes during honeymoon?”
Olivia, who almost believed him, asked.
“Is that so?”
At that moment, they got into the room and Olivia could not believe her eyes. She saw two suitcases that were filled with clothes – one for him and one for her. She turned and gave him a hug and appreciated.
“Thank you hubby.”
“Thank you for making me a married man. Come and change your clothes, you must be hungry.”
He helped her to unzip her wedding gown. She pulled it down and was left with her inner wears. She turned and helped her husband to unbutton his suit buttons too, and they were both left with inner wears.
“Let's have our lunch, I'm starving.”
“All right.”
They walked back to the parlor and settled down at the dinning table, sitting beside each other. Olivia saw a card that was placed on the bowl of food and read the inscription.
(Congratulations to you once more, my Angel, the woman that I will love the rest of my life and the mother of my children. Denise)
Olivia was moved and gave him a peck while she assured him.
“I will love you the rest of my life.”
They had their lunch happily and proceeded to the bathroom for a shower. Olivia was bashful and would not undress freely before Denise. He was shy too, but had to do what is necessary. He took off his singlet and was left with only knickers.
“You don't have to be shy. It is me Denise, the man you love and the man that love you too.”
He began to undress her, but the unexpected happened. Olivia screamed.
“No. I don't deserve you.”
And ran back to the bedroom. She sat down on the couch and began to cry her eyes out. Denise walked back to the bedroom dispirited, sat on the bed and looked at Olivia before he laid on the bed facing up.
At The Registry.
“Hello, Mrs. Anderson. Good to hear from you.”
The anxious Freya, who had no time for frivolities, quickly asked.
“Did Louis return to the house?”
“Yes, Mrs. Anderson.”
The couple simmered down and Freya continued.
“Give him the phone, I want to speak with him.”
“He is no more here. He left after he changed his wears.”
Freya looked at the husband who had placed his hand right hand around her waist before she asked again.
“Where did he go to?”
“He did not mention it to me.”
