The Epiphany 4
“Good evening, Mr. Bailey. Good to see you.”
“Good evening, Zoey. How was your day?”
“My day was fine, Mr. Bailey. And you?”
“My day was fine.”
Then, he faced Nichole and announced.
“Let me say hello to Dr. Caesar if he is still around.”
“All right Hubby.”
Now, Nichole turned and began to walk back, but her husband grabbed her hand, and they began to walk hand in hand to the surprise of her colleagues. They got to Dr. Caesar’s office, and he was shocked to see Mr. Arthur Bailey. After a brief visit, he announced.
“We will be on our way.”
“It is all right, Mr. Bailey. I am delighted to have you around.”
“You are welcome.”
Dr. Caesar walked them to the vestibule, where Zoey was patiently waiting.
“Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience, our staff’s unruly behavior must have caused you and your family.”
“Don’t let that bother you. Keep up the good work that you are doing.”
Mr. Bailey declared.
“Thank you, Mr. Bailey. I beg to be on my way.”
After the doctor left, he turned to Nichole and instructed.
“Nichole, hand your car keys over to Zoey so that she can bring your car home.”
Zoey, who was hoping to join them in his car, furrowed her brow. Mr. Arthur noticed it and teased.
“Don’t worry. Stephen will not abduct you, and you will in front of us.”
They laughed loudly as Nichole handed her car key to her, and they drove off. They talked and laughed at the foolishness of Mr. Stephen Bailey and Lorene Walker. Then Mr. Arthur Bailey informed her of Lorene’s arrest, and she was surprised.
“Arrest? Was she arrested?”
“Yes. Are you surprised?”
“I mean, how did you discover that she was arrested?”
“She was at the complex today…”
“This is serious. What was her mission and why did you call the cop on her?”
Mr. Arthur Bailey gave her a rundown of the experience they had with her that day, and she marveled.
“Do you mean that she had been to the office before today?”
“Yes. That was when we were in Cairo.”
“I can see her frustration.”
Her husband turned and looked at her and asked.
“What do you mean by her frustration?”
“When she requested for your contact, I gave her Stephen’s contact. She must have been disappointed when she discovered that it was not your number that I gave to her.”
“That is very cynical of you, Nichole.”
They laughed happily and Nichole added.
“She needed Mr. Bailey’s contact, and I gave her one. How was I cynical?”
Mr. Arthur Bailey laughed again and pointed out.
“They must have been together because the police said that she was connected with him.”
“You are correct. She became disappointed when she discovered that she was with the wrong person.”
“You are right.”
Soon, they got to the Bailey Native Home and Zoey parked and got off before walking to her house.
“Good night, Sir. Good night, Nichole.”
“Good night, Zoey.”
At Mr. Denise Bailey’s Apartment.
After he left his father’s office, he walked back to his office, tidied up and returned home. His wife, who drove in a few minutes ago, walked back to the car to welcome him as usual.
“Welcome back, Hubby.”
Now, she was already sitting on the passenger’s seat. He searched her with his eyes for any trace of stress or disturbance, and when he found none, he smiled and responded.
“Thank you, my Angel. How was your day?”
“My day was pleasant, and yours?”
She gave her a peck on her temple and replied.
“Pleasant too. What happened today and what took you to mom’s office?”
She updated him on all that happened. After listening carefully, he asked.
“Why didn’t you inform me of the woman’s post before you deleted it?”
Olivia scrunched up her nose and defended her action.
“That woman is not worth a minute of yours. Freya and I have taken care of her.”
“I am proud of you, my Angel.”
“Thank you, Hubby.”
He ran his hand over her stomach and asked.
“I hope she is doing fine?”
He smiled and waited for her to refute his claim as usual.
“Yes, he is doing fine. He visited his grandma’s office today.”
They laughed happily, got off the car and walked to the house. They had their lunch and Denise spent the rest of the day working and playing with his wife. Then he got a message from the Chief of the Defense Staff of the Dunforn North, who was more humbled by the revelation he got about Mr. Denise Bailey than the acceptance of his suggestion.
(Pardon my manners at your office today. I will give your suggestion a thought. Admiral Fabian Jacob.)
He smiled and replied at once.
(I am not offended in any way. You are only defending your country, and I respect you for that.)
Now, Denise’s response sent goose bumps on him, and that humbled him the more. He meditated on all that Denise told him at the office, and after a while he sent another message to him.
(I have pondered on your suggestions. Nothing can be compared with the peace of any nation. We would like to check out of the hotel to a cheaper hotel tomorrow. I would also like to see you tomorrow, if you permit us.)
From the tone of his message, Mr. Denise Bailey saw the picture of a man who had surrendered and felt his plight. Then he responded.
(I am glad that you found my suggestions helpful. Please feel free at the hotel and don’t bother checking out. I will be available tomorrow by 10 am.)
Friday Morning at the Bailey International Conglomerates
Mr. Denise Bailey got to work that morning and asked his Manager to arrange for Jude Addy to meet him at the complex, and he accepted. Meanwhile, the Chief of the Defense Staff from Dunforn South who discussed with the Prime Minister of his country was delighted to inform Mr. Denise Bailey that his Prime Minister was of the same opinion with him but was afraid of their opponent who may take advantage of their surrendering and colonize them.
