The Secret 3
“Never mind. I will allow her to make a jest of herself.”
“That is good. Yesterday, I said we have a lot to talk about, Nichole.”
“Yes. My husband picked me for lunch yesterday. By the way, what transpired between you and Lorene in my absence?”
Nichole inquired when they got into her car.
“Maybe we will go home together. I can ask Oscar to stay back.”
“It is all right.”
She turned on the ignition of her car and waited for Zoey to fasten her seatbelt. Then, Lorene Walker walked towards them. It was obvious that she never suspected that it was Zoey who attacked her, and she did not cast a glance at her before she yelled.
“Nichole, your days are numbered here. Watch and see.”
Lorene Walker smirked and retorted as she was walking to her car.
“Lorene, you will do nothing.”
Then she drove off. Mrs. Zoey Bailey, who was on the passenger’s seat, smiled broadly and cursed.
“Spineless nincompoop.”
“That is the right adjective to describe her. Tell me, what happened?”
“I was in your office on Tuesday when she barged in.”
“That lady is so incautious. How can she barge into my office?”
“I was marveled, too. She said, ‘you idiot, you gave me the wrong person’s contact.’ Before I could turn to see who walked in, I saw a hand coming towards my face for a slap. So, I had to defend myself.”
“Of course. Self-defense is not a crime. So, what happened?”
Mrs. Nichole Bailey laughed with glee after Zoey narrated how she grabbed her hand and shook it vigorously, and how she slumped and how she finally blacked out.
“Oh! Her problem with me was that I gave her a wrong person’s contact? That was not enough for her to lose her cool.”
“You are right, Nichole. Besides, you were not in the office. She would have waited for you to sort it out amicably.”
“You are right. She deserved what she got.”
Nichole, who was not aware of the extent of the emotional stress she had caused Lorene Walker and Stephen Bailey, said as she stopped at the gate of the Native Home.
At the Native Home
“Welcome back, Mrs. Bailey.”
The gatekeeper said as he opened the gate. She acknowledged his greeting before she drove to Zoey’s apartment and parked.
“Thank you for the ride, Nichole.”
“You are welcome.”
“Congratulations once again.”
“Thank you.”
Then, Nichole drove off.
“Why are you congratulating Nichole? What is she celebrating?”
Mr. Oscar Bailey asked as he received his wife.
“Have you forgotten that Denise said his mother was married?”
“Oh! Was he serious? I thought he only said that to stop the elders from imposing Stephen on his mother?”
Zoey, who did not wish to say much on that, walked into the house and asked.
“How was your day, Oscar?”
“My day was fine.”
Now, Nichole got home and parked her car at the car park. She looked up and saw Max smiling happily at her.
“Welcome back, mom. Good to see you.”
She got off her car and gave him a hug.
“Max. Good to see you. How was your trip?”
“My trip was smooth. How was your day?”
“My day was good. How is your family?”
“My family is fine. They send their regards.”
They walked into the sitting room to meet her husband, who was anxiously waiting for her.
“Welcome back, Nichole.”
“Thank you, Hubby. How was your day?”

(Peck)
“My day was good. And you?”
“Splendid”
She chatted briefly with Max before she got upstairs with her husband.
At Mr. Denise Bailey’s Home
He had realized that cooking for him made his wife happy, so he relaxed his rules a bit to allow her to do what gave her joy. After they settled down, he teased.
“I think I deserve a treat for being your mouthpiece.”
“Yes. You deserve more than that. What do you want me to do for you?”
“I need your special meal for lunch.”
Olivia looked at him for a confirmation of what she heard, and he pulled her closer and repeated himself.
“You love cooking for me, right?”
“Yes, Hubby.”
“Then, cook for me. I will be with you to avoid much stress on you.”
“It is all right.”
The thought of the trauma she went through in the hands of her first lover that day he met her was not pleasant, and he resolved to continually make her happy. They prepared the meal together and had their lunch.
Later, he sat on his reading desk to work from home. He checked the family platform and saw everyone’s comment, except for Louis and his mom. He pushed it behind him and concentrated on how to host his clients – the two Chiefs of the Defense Staff from another countries. Then, he gave his manager at the Tourist Center a call.
“Hello, boss. Good to hear from you.”
“Yes, Manager. I am expecting some guests tomorrow and I need you to reserve two suites for them.”
“It is all right, boss.”
“I would like to have the suites' details now.”
“Consider it done, boss.”
While he was waiting for the manager, he looked at his wife who was sleeping peacefully on the bed and smiled.
“You will never regret the day you met me, my Angel.”
He assured her. Then, he got a message from his manger as he promised. He punched on the message button and read through.
(Suite 502, Fifth floor and Suite 774, Seventh floor)
Then, he forwarded the information to the Admirals at once, and they acknowledged the receipt. Then, Mr. Denise Bailey also informed them that the Tourist Center offer Transport Services which can pick them from the airport if they are interested. Such an arrangement was convenient for them, and they bought the idea.
Now, the Chief of the Defense Staff from the North requested to have the payment details so that he could wire the money for the payment, but he was shocked with Mr. Denise Bailey’s response.
(Never mind. The cost is on me)
(Wow! That is great. I am most grateful)
(You are welcome. Admiral)
