New Phase 10
“Good to see you, boss.”
“Good Morning, Eric. I hope you are good?”
“I am fine, boss. And you?”
“Good. Thank you.”
Mr. Louis Bailey, who was comfortable working with Eric, walked to his already cleaned office and took his seat. He checked his itinerary to organize himself for the week, then his phone rang. He peeped at his phone which was by his side, hoping that it was his mom, but he smiled and picked the call immediately.
“Hello, brother-in-law. Good to hear from you.”
“Good to hear from you, Louis. How are you?”
“I’m fine. How are you and my sister?”
“We are good. I wish to inform you that I will be at Kent tomorrow.”
“It is all right. Do you want me to send my driver to pick you from the airport?”
“Thank you, but never mind. I will find my way to Dover and I will be with you on Thursday.”
“It is all right. I will be expecting you.”
“Until we see.”

Mr. Louis Bailey was excited with the call for many reasons. With his in-law, Max Winston’s visit, he was going to cover another business deal which would involve so much and his surgery would not be delayed any longer. Then, he returned to his itinerary at once.
At the Government Hospital
Mrs. Nichole Bailey arrived at the office with her husband in their personal car. He had allowed the bucket of bolts to rest at the moment. The janitor, Rachael, who did not know much about her leave, was not expecting her. However, she was excited when she saw Mr. Arthur Bailey’s tinted car. As usual, he parked at the vestibule and spent some time with his wife.
“I hope you will not miss me too much?”
He asked as he looked at his wife, who was smiling happily.
“I will, but I will always chat you up.”
“That’s good. Take care of yourself and remember to check on Louis. You are aware that he is still a baby until he gets a wife”
Nichole chuckled at his joke and responded.
“I will certainly do that.”
She got off the car and he drove off. His wife’s presence had helped him to be stable over Louis’s case, now, he would not hold on until he got to the root of it. Reminding her to give Louis a call was his way of ensuring that he was distracted from his dangerous plans.
At the Bailey International Conglomerates, Dover.
He got to the company and walked straight to his office. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey had moved to his office that morning to make room for the Chairman. Then, he got a message from his son-in-law. His face brightened when he looked at his phone and discovered that the message was from Mr. Max Winston.
(Hello, father. Welcome back from Cairo. I wish to inform you that I will be with you tomorrow. See you then.)
Then, he expressed his delight by replying immediately.
(Wow! That is a piece of good news, Max. I will send the driver to pick you from the Airport. Kindly let me know your flight schedule.)
(It is okay. I will send the schedule right away. Thank you, father.)
Meanwhile, when he got off call with Mr. Max Winston, he gave Dr. Quain a call at once.
At the Bailey International Conglomerates - Sevenoaks
Dr. Kadon Quain got to the clinic as early as usual and settled down. The clinics were not always busy, except for staff members who were pregnant or the wives of staff members who needed to have their routine checks. That Monday was not an exception. As usual, the women would wish to be attended to by the Medical Director, which he had settled long ago. The women have realized that they either see the gynecologist or return home unattended. After he settled down, he got a call from Mr. Louis Bailey, which he always believed could be a distressed call. However, he hurriedly picked.
“Hello, Mr. Bailey. Good to hear from you.”
“Good morning, doctor. Good to hear from. I called to remind you that the surgery is going to take place the coming week and I wish to know how far you have gone with getting the professionals.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Quain’s forehead was beginning to get wet with sweat. The more Mr. Louis Bailey’s interest in embarking on the surgery increases, the more his affection for him increased and the fear of losing the person he loved so much. He quickly thought of an answer and responded.
“You don’t need to remind me because all is set for the surgery. I was about to call to find out the day we are looking at, so I can communicate properly with the professionals.”
“I will get back to you shortly. Thank you.”
“I will be waiting.”

The restless Dr. Kadon Quain stared at the wall after Louis ended the call. He wished he could move his office to Louis’s office, just to keep his eyes on him. Just as he was about recovering from the heat from Mr. Louis Bailey’s call, he got a call from the Chairman. To keep his head above the waters, he got off his swivel chair and walked to the couch. He took his seat comfortably before he picked the Chairman’s call.
“Good Morning, Chairman. Good to know that you are back.”
“Good morning, Dr. Quain. How are you?”
“I am fine. Thank you. And you?”
“Fine. I came back yesterday and I feel we should resume with our discussion about Louis. What is the situation right now?”
“I just got off call with him. He called to remind me of the surgery.”
“This is serious. I never knew that he had a lover, only to hear that he had a beak up. Do you know the girl? Can we initiate a reconciliation? I am quite certain that he had learned his lessons.”
Now, the doctor was at a loss on what to do. Breaking such news over the phone to a man who he was not certain of his level of stability was not medically wise, but he must give an answer to his question.
“I would be happy, if we can discuss this over lunch, boss.”
“That would be nice. I hope to see you in Dover at lunch.”
“That is alright, Chairman. But there is a problem.”
“What is the problem, Dr. Quain?”
“I am wondering if my boss would not suspect my sudden visit to Dover.”
“Oh! You are right. I will handle that.”
“It is okay, Chairman.”
They got off the call and Mr. Arthur Bailey sent for Dr. Harper.
“Mrs. Felix, ask Dr. Harper to see me.”
He ordered through the intercom.
“I will do that right away, boss.”
Now, the drive from the clinic to the Administrative Block was about five minutes, but the doctor arrived after ten minutes. He was having his breakfast when Mrs. Felix called to inform him that the Chairman wished to see him. He was surprised at the summons, but he saw it as an opportunity to welcome the chairman, who had been away for a few days.
“Good morning, boss, welcome back from your trip.”
Dr. Harper greeted after he got to the Chairman’s office. Then, Mr. Arthur Bailey gave him a puzzled look when it occurred to him that he was not aware that he had remarried, and he felt he should know. He smiled and corrected.
“Do you mean, welcome back from my honeymoon?”
Dr. Harper who was yet to take his seat was visibly surprised, and before he could ask any question, Mr. Arthur Bailey motioned to the visitor’s seat and offered.
“Please, take your seat.”
Now, the doctor recollected himself and took his seat, still looking at the Chairman, who continued.
“I got married to Nichole…”
“Wow! That is the best news I have heard this year.”
Exclaimed Dr. Harper, who did not wait to hear him out but interrupted him when he learned that the woman who he got married to was Mrs. Nichole Bailey, the late Chairman’s widow. Mr. Arthur Bailey was astonished at the doctor’s excitement, then he asked.
“What is best about my marriage to Nichole, Dr. Harper?”
“She is the only woman who will genuinely fit into that shoe. You deserve the best. Congratulations, boss.”
“Thank you. Doctor. I sent for you.”
“Yes, boss. Is anything the matter?”
“Yes. I wish to give Dr. Quain and you my wedding treat today. Please invite Dr. Quain to the head office.”
“Wow! That is nice of you, boss.”
“It is a surprise to Dr. Quain so, you can call his boss and ask him to inform him that you need his assistance at the clinic. If there is any hitch, you let me know.”
Mr. Arthur Bailey said dismissively.
“That would not be a problem, boss. I will do that.”
“It is all right.”
After thirty minutes, Dr. Quain got a call from Mr. Louis Bailey that his attention was needed at the head office. The doctor smiled and asked.
“Mr. Bailey, I hope there is no problem?”
“Of course there must be an issue. Dr. Harper just called me to make the request. So, please, you can be on your way.”
“It is all right. I will be on my way.”
“Safe trip.”
