You Came Too Late 11

He was uncertain how to relate with them because they did not interact when they were seated together. Besides, he was not aware of how much they saw of the drama between him and his son. Nevertheless, he walked to his room and laid on the bed like a pack of cards.
At the Court
The couple posed for photographs with family members and friends. Now, Olivia had the opportunity to meet with her relations. Sandra and Ivy – her bride’s maid and little bride, were around.
“Auntie Olivia, how is Daniel, your page boy?”
Ivy asked.
“Daniel, my page boy is fine. He sent his regards.”
“I see. Please send my regards to him.”
“I will.”
Afterwards, they moved to a restaurant for lunch. At the restaurant, Tim was busy ensuring that the guests were comfortable. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey and his wife sat together on one of the tables and other relations sat around him. When Tim was through with the guests, he walked up to the table to join Olivia and her husband, but he discovered that the seats around the table were occupied. He felt disappointed and Mr. Denise Bailey who had eyes on him noticed it. He could not ask anybody to get up for him, so, he only looked on. After a few minutes, Tim walked back with a chair and attached it to the table beside Denise, and he felt good. Now, their table was the only table that had seven chairs against other tables that had six chairs.
“We did not plan for a wedding gift for them.”
Mr. Denise Bailey whispered to his wife.
“You are right. What do we do?”
“I don’t know. Why not find out from mom what we should do.”
“That is a good idea.”
Now, Olivia got up and walked to the mother and made her inquiries, and her mother said.
“You can give her any monetary gift. She would prefer it to any item.”
“You are right, mom. Can we have her bank details?”
“I will forward it to you.”
“Okay. Thank you, mom.”
She walked back to her husband and informed him, and they took their mother’s advice and transferred a reasonable amount that would not make him appear too rich or too poor.
When the lunch was over, they set out to return to the hotel.
“We shall be on our way, mom, and father.”
Mr. Denise Bailey announced when he walked up to his parents’ in-law with his wife standing beside him.
“All right, my son. Thank you for honoring my invitation. I feel highly honored.”
“Don’t mention, mom.”
“When are you going back to Kent?”
“Tomorrow afternoon, by God’s grace.”
“It is alright. We are still around.”
“Okay, mom. We will keep in touch.”
“Mom and dad, goodbye.”
“All right, Olivia, take care.”
Now, they began to walk towards the vehicle and Tim tagged along as though it was his right. Now, everyone was surprise including Olivia at Tim’s behavior except Mr. Denise Bailey. When they got to the car, he walked to the passenger’s side and attempted to open the door.
“Tim, where are you going?”
Sandra asked. Then, Olivia’s parent, who were walking them to the car, repeated Sandra’s question. Now, Tim ignored their questions, opened the car and sat down comfortably. Meanwhile, all eyes were on Denise for his verdict. They were oblivious of the fact that he was more anxious than Tim. His greatest wish was how to take him along with him to Kent. So, he made a comment that he used to sample his parents’ in-law’s opinion.
“Maybe he wants to accompany his big cousin to Kent?”
They laughed aloud, including Olivia. Then, Mrs. McGregor pointed out.
“He would be so happy to do that, especially now that his mother is proceeding to her honeymoon.”
Then she turned to Tim and said.
“Tim, get off the vehicle, they did not make arrangement for you.”
Now, Olivia put his mother in the picture and announced.
“He actually spent the night with us. He has a room there.”
“Then, he is aware of what he is doing. Allow the young man to enjoy his life.”
Mr. McGregor concluded. They laughed heartily at his joke. Afterwards, the prudent Mr. Denise Bailey, who was protecting the information he had gathered about Tim, smiled and opened the door for his wife. After she took her seat, he walked to the other side of the car and got into the car.
“Bye mom, bye father.”
“All right, Denise and Olivia. Take care. Tim, take care.”
“All right, Auntie and Uncle. Bye”
Then, the driver turned on his ignition and asked.
“Are we returning to the Resort Center, Mr. Bailey?”
“Certainly, Mr. Finnegan.”
“It is noted.”
They continued their trip silently. Now, Olivia was tired and needed to rest her head.
“You will soon rest, dear.”
“Yes, Hubby.”
Then, she rested her head on her husband's laps while he placed his hand on her forehead and encouraged.
“You are a strong woman.”
As soon as the drive moved, she dozed off. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey looked at Tim, who was lost in thought and teased.
“Tim, I hope you would allow us to return to Kent?"
Tim smiled softly and responded coldly.
“Yes, Uncle.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey began to ponder on the turnout of events.
'What does Uncle Stephen really want? Why didn't he settle down with a woman who truly loved him?'
Soon, they arrived at the Resort Center. When the driver parked at the vestibule, Tim got off at once and before Mr. Denise Bailey, who was attempting to wake his wife up, could open the door, Tim had opened the door for him. He got off and appreciated Tim.
“Thank you, Tim.”
“You are welcome, Uncle.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey held the door and waited for his wife to get off the car, too. When she was finally out, Mr. Bailey held her hand and closed the door.
“Thank you, Mr. Finnegan.”
“You are welcome, Mr. Bailey.”
“I will let you know if we need to go out again.”
It is all right, Mr. Bailey.”
