The Love That Triumphed 6
Tuesday Morning.
After sorting out Nichole's wears the previous night, they went to bed full of hope for the next day. They woke up in the morning at their usual waking time and prepared and began to prepare for their great day. After their breakfast, they walked out of the house to board their vehicle. To their surprise, Nichole's car was not at the parking lot. The, the bewildered Mr. Arthur Bailey turned to the security guard who was standing beside them and waiting for them to drive out, so he could lock the mini gate and asked.
“Didn't Zoey return the vehicle yesterday?”
“No boss.”
“Why didn't you inform us?”
“I am sorry, boss. I thought she informed you.”
Now, Mr. Bailey looked at Nichole who was standing by the passenger's door before he walked to her, opened the door and remarked.
“Maybe she drove to her house when she got off work.”
“It is possible, but she should have kindly let me know.”
Nichole pointed out as she got into the car. Mr. Bailey walked back to the driver's side and got into the car too before he said.
“She may have her reasons. Let us go.”
They drove to the registry and were glad to meet their children with their spouses. Mr. Arthur Bailey's joy knew no bounds when he successfully got to the registry unrestrained. The children and their spouses greeted one after the other.
“Good morning, father. Good morning mom.”
“Good morning Denise.”
“Olivia, how are you?”
“I'm fine, mom. Congratulations.”
“Thank you, Olivia.”
Nichole turned to Freya and her husband and asked.
“How is Daniel?”
“We just sent him to school before coming.”
“It is all right.”
Thereafter, they got into the registry, sat at the reception and waited for 9 am. While they were chatting happily, the registrar invited them to the chamber. Then, Mr. Arthur Bailey looked at his time and announced.
“Let's go. It is time.”
“All right.”
At Mr. Stephen Bailey's Residence.
Mrs. Zoey Bailey became conscious at 7:00 pm, against Mr. Stephen Bailey's speculation that the effect of the spray would wane after five hours. The effect lingered because of Mrs. Zoey Bailey's underlying medical condition. She had been an asthmatic patient right from childhood. Now, she woke up with an acute headache and dizziness. The pains on her chest became unbearable as she began to cough. Her purse, which contained her inhaler and phone, was in the car. The last thing she could remember was that someone greeted her at the car park when she tried to get off her car and she inhaled a poisonous substance.
'I must have been abducted.'
She thought to herself. With that understanding, she laid still on the bed while fighting hard to suppress her cough so that she would not attract the attention of her abductors. When the cough persisted, she got off the bed to hide where her cough would not be heard. The only alternative was the wardrobe, and she walked to it. When she opened it, she withdrew instantly because the breeze that oozed out of it was as strong as a chemical, and that triggered her cough. Then, she sat upright on the ground and coughed hysterically while she unzipped her clothes to be as free as possible. That act helped her a bit because it opened her airways.
“Where am I? I'm uncertain whether I'm still in Dover.”
She reasoned. As someone in the medical field, she was able to suppress any act that could trigger an attack. After she came out of danger, she could not think of anything else apart from food. She was so hungry and thirsty that she could eat anything. Meanwhile, the room was dark, and she was unable to trace the switch, even if she does, she would not dare to put on the light. In her helplessness, she drifted off.
She woke up the next day to see that the room was bright. She was unable to tell the time because she had no wristwatch, nor was there any clock in the room. Likewise, she was scared to her bone marrow when she began to hear voices and movement.
“I'm dead. My husband and children will lose me.”
Then, she began to weep profusely at the thought of her family losing her.
“How do I get help?”
At The Underground.
As far as Mr. Stephen Bailey was concerned, Mrs. Nichole Bailey, as he thought, was in safe hands because his janitor would give her food when she needed it and that her phone was with her. He was so certain that she was in bondage under Mr. Arthur Bailey's subjugation, and that he was going to give her the freedom she required. It had never occurred to him that she could escape. That day, be slept on the couch in the underground with many gamblers around. Some of them spend their nights there and leave for their works the next. Now, he had sent a message to his woman expressing how much he loved her, and he would be away for a few days.
“Good morning, boss.”
“Good morning. How are you?”
“I'm fine. Any news from the wolves?”
“Not yet. I know they will not implicate us because they know that we will come for them. Let's listen more to the news.”
“It is all right.”
“The restaurant will serve your breakfast.”
“Thank you boss.”
At Sevenoaks - Bailey International Conglomerates
Eric was at the office as early as 8 am with the client from the United States of America who arrived the previous day. When he informed Eric that he had arrived, they scheduled to meet at the office by 8 am. So, Eric called his boss and informed him, and he promised to be in the office by 7:30 am. Just as planned, they all kept to time.
“Good morning, boss. Mr. Rex Edmonton, the client from the United States of America, is here.”
Eric announced enthusiastically when he got to his office.
“Usher him in, please.”
Responded Mr. Louis Bailey cheerfully. Then, Eric walked back to the reception and walked and returned with Mr. Rex Edmonton, a forty-six years stout old man with pot-belly. He was surprised to see a twenty-four-year Chief Executive seated confidently on his swivel chair, and he did not hide it. Now, Mr. Louis Bailey stood up from his seat with the aura of a successful businessman to receive the client.
“Mr. Edmonton, meet my boss, Mr. Louis Bailey. Boss, meet Mr. Rex Edmonton, the client I have been expecting from the USA.”
Eric introduced. Likewise, Mr. Louis Bailey stretched out his hand to the surprised client, who accepted it for a handshake and said.
“Welcome to my humble office, Mr. Edmonton. Please take your seat.”
He took his seat in amazement, as well as Eric.
“Thank you, Mr. Bailey. I'm very honored to meet with you at last. I have heard so much about you.”
Now, Mr. Louis Bailey chuckled and teased.
“That is good. I hope that what you have heard about me are not negative things.”
The three laughed and Mr. Edmonton continued.
“To be candid, I was expecting…”
“An old man.”
Mr. Louis Bailey interrupted and completed his statement for him. He smiled and demanded.
“How do you know what I wanted to say?”
“I am aware of what you wanted to say because I am used to such remarks from clients. All the same, you are welcome. What do I offer you, tea or coffee?”
Mr. Louis Bailey asked with finality, and Mr. Rex Edmonton got it. Then, he put himself together and informed.
“I will be contented with coffee.”
“It is all right.”
Mr. Louis Bailey gave Eric a familiar look, he stood up at once and walked to the pantry and came back with one cup of coffee and one cup of tea. He dropped the cup of coffee in front of Mr. Edmonton and the tea before his boss. Then, Mr. Bailey announced.
“Here we are, Mr. Edmonton.”
“Thank you, Mr. Bailey.”
They discussed the land issue over the cup of tea. At last, Mr. Bailey asked.
“Would you want to take a look at the land?”
“Wow! How can I take a look of two hundred hectares of land in a day?”
“We can fly you around with the company whirlybird if you wish.”
“In that case, I wish.”
“It is all right.”
Mr. Louis Bailey said. He sipped his tea and kept his teacup back to the saucer before he instructed Eric.
“Eric.”
“Yes, boss.”
“Please, inform the pilot and the chief of security that we are going out.”
“It is noted, boss.”
Subsequently, Mr. Eric stepped out to make calls while Mr. Rex Edmonton commend Mr. Arthur Bailey's friendly and business demeanor.
“Mr. Bailey, I must commend your demeanor. You are a very intelligent and forthright.”
He looked at him with a smile and accepted his compliment.
“I appreciate your compliment, you made my day.”
Soon, Eric returned to the office and announced.
“The pilot and the chief of security are ready.”
“Thank you, Eric.”
He appreciated before he emptied his teacup and looked at Mr. Rex Edmonton who had emptied his teacup too and declared.
“We shall be on our way if you are ready.”
“Yeah, I'm ready.”
They walked out of the office, boarded the helicopter and left for the property. Due to the weather and their helicopter, they were able to arrive at the site which was thirty miles from the city in a couple of minutes.
“We are at the site, Mr. Edmonton. You can begin your observations from here.”
“Thank you, Mr. Bailey. I think I like what I am seeing.”
“In that case, we will be flying you around the two hundred hectares, and you can view the topographical feature of the property.”
