The Return of a Kinsman 5

“You are a genius, Hubby. I am glad that I am going to have a son as intelligent as you are.”
She whispered into his ears after they rested. Now, Mr. Denise Bailey was so pleased with how his wife took Tim’s case. He was aware that the Princewill’s family would not have released Tim to him if they were aware of their relationship. He took the risk of keeping it away from her, hoping that he would pacify her if she felt betrayed. Now, she had seen reason with him and allowed it to pass just like that. Then, he responded.
“That is good to hear. My intelligent wife will give me an intelligent daughter.”
They laughed happily and continued with their discussion.
“How do you think Tim will feel if he finds out that I am related to his father?”
“I would not know unless we try. In my opinion, he would not be disappointed in you because he already likes you.”
“Really? Does he like me?”
“Yes. He is a withdrawn person. Even among the family members, he was not free with them. Notwithstanding, you caught his attention at first sight.”
“That is good. We will give him the best in life.”
“Thank you, Hubby.”
“You are welcome. We are going to see our Patriarch tomorrow to introduce him to him.”
“That is good. Later, I will inform my mom. I don’t think the Princewill’s family will protest so much since he had crossed the borders of Bricks Mont.”
“Thank you for your support.”
Sunday
Mr. Denise Bailey and his wife woke up in the morning stronger and more intimate. He could feel the intimacy as his wife was all over him, and he loved it that way.

“I love you, my Angel.”
“I love you too. My hero.”
“I feel we should meet Tim and put him in the picture before we introduce him to the Patriarch.”
“You are right, Hubby. Let us clean up.”
Mr. Denise Bailey got up and supported his wife to do the same. They got into the washroom and cleaned up. Afterwards, they got back to the room, and he advised.
“Let's get ready for our walk out at once and after seeing him, we will leave for that at once.”
“It's OK.”
They got to Tim's room and knocked. They waited for his response, he did not respond, Denise knocked again and opened the door. Furthermore, they saw him sleeping soundly and Olivia tapped him.
“Tim, it is morning. Get up.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey had taken his seat by the reading desk. Tim woke up with a start and saw his big cousin smiling. He jolted from the bed and smiled too.
“Good morning, big cousin. How is my uncle?”
He greeted warmly, unaware of his uncle's presence.
“Your uncle is fine. He wishes to talk to you.”
“Okay. Where is he?”
Then, Mr. Denise Bailey spoke.
“Tim, how was your night?”
Now, Tim was startled by his uncle's voice and the couple noticed it. Then he greeted.
“Good morning, Uncle Denise. My night was fine.”
He looked at his sister who was already seated on the bed and back to his uncle and requested.
“Let me wash up.”
“It is all right.”
He left for the washroom and returned after a few minutes. Then he sat down on the bed and waited before Olivia spoke.
“Little cousin.”
“Yes, big cousin.”
He responded in trepidation, and it was obvious. He was prepared for anything, but not for returning to Bricks Mont. To his consternation, what he was about to hear had never crossed his mind.
“Do you believe in destiny?”
“Yes. I believe in destiny. Why do you ask?”
“Good. I want you to prepare yourself for what your cousin is about to tell you.”
'Cousin in-law?'
He thought. Then Mr. Denise Bailey took the floor.
“Tim.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
“Have you ever bothered to ask why we like each other at first sight?”
Tim looked down and replied.
“No.”
“I know. Initially, I did not know, but when I saw you agitated in the court during your mother's wedding, I got a great revelation.”
Now, the smile on Tim's face had varnished and replaced with curiosity. While many questions were going on in his mind, Mr. Denise Bailey continued.
“The man you chased out of the court is my uncle.”
He paused and observed the surprised look on his face. Olivia observed that too, and Denise continued.
“You must have noticed how mom and father welcomed you yesterday. They were happy that a kinsman, had returned home.”
Meanwhile, Tim had begun to tear up with tears of jubilation. He looked up and saw his cousins looking merrily at him. The, he smiled and asked.
“So, I have a home, after all?”
“Yes, like I told you, no child is illegitimate. Every child has a father, even the test tube babies are a product of a father.”
“Yes, uncle, you also said that I am born to win.”
“Good, I am glad that you remembered that. Cheer up. This is your country and nobody will molest you about your birth status. Did you get me?”
“I got you.”
“I like that. We will visit our Patriarch today. He would be happy to see you.”
“All right, uncle. Thank you for your concern towards me.”
“You are welcome. Wifey, let's go.”
Now, Mr. Denise Bailey stood up, and his wife did the same. Tim stood up and initiated a hug. Afterwards, they left for their walk out, while Tim stayed back and gave thought to all that took place in his life within the past few days. He shook his head in excitement and mumbled.
“What a life.”
At the Barracks
After Mr. Arthur Bailey got off the call with the Patriarch on Saturday and agreed on the time to pay him a visit, he informed his son. At noon, Mr. Denise Bailey took his wife along with Tim to the Bailey Native Home. Now, Tim had known his position in the family and was cordial with everyone.
“Welcome home, little cousin. I am your biggest cousin, Freya.”
