New Phase 18

“Certainly.”
“It is all right. I will give him a call and book an appointment with him.”
Subsequently, Mr. Denise Bailey returned to his office relieved. Then, he resumed his Zoom meeting with his clients, which would take longer than expected. So, he called the attention of his wife.
“Sweetie.”
She looked at her husband when she noticed that his attention was on her, and unplugged the earpiece from her ears.
“I am going to spend some time on the Zoom meeting. Please, order for lunch when it is time.”
“It is okay, Hubby.”
Now, Denise hooked up with one of his clients and his team. To his surprise, this client was desperate and the weapons they were demanding were capable of wiping a whole nation. He noticed that the next client that he would be meeting with him requested for such weapons too. When the revelation was beginning to get exciting, he sent a message to his Godfather to hold on with the meeting with his father.
At the Government Hospital
Now, Lorene Walker, who was always on the same shift Mrs. Nichole Bailey was at her house waiting for the PM Shift when she got Mr. Stephen Bailey’s call. After waiting for her call and the response to his numerous messages, he defiled all odds and paid her a visit at the hospital incognito.
“She is on PM Shift, and she would resume by noon.”
The receptionist responded when the masked Mr. Stephen Bailey pulled down his mask to reveal his face before making inquiry about Lorene. Now, he looked at his time, and it was 10:15 Am. He turned, appreciated the receptionist and left.
“Thank you, for the information.”
He muttered as he set out to visit her house. He did not bother to give her a call because he was aware that she would not pick. Now, he took a taxi and headed for her house. After a few minutes, he was at her door.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Evelyn Whyte’s husband who was amazed to see her with gauze was with her too. He felt for her when she informed him that she had an accident at the office. Likewise, they were wondering where Evelyn could have been and suddenly, they heard the sound of the doorbell. Now, Reuben, who was more anxious with Evelyn’s where about than Lorene volunteered to answer the door, hoping that it could be her.
“Don’t bother yourself, please, I will do that.”
He said as he stopped Lorene who was attempting to get up. He opened the door and saw a gentleman who was smiling broadly, but his smile faded when he saw Reuben. Now, the disappointed Reuben gave him a quizzical look before he turned to Lorene who was waiting to see who the visitor was and inquired.
“Lorene, are you expecting any visitor?”
Now, the confused Lorene Walker did not bother to respond to his question, rather she got up from her seat and began to walk to the door. Then she heard Mr. Stephen Bailey greet as he stretched out his hand to Reuben.
“Hello, I’m Mr. Stephen Bailey. I am delighted to meet you.”
Reuben looked at his hand before he locked his right hands with his and greeted.
“I am Reuben Storm. Nice to meet you.”
Now, they had a handshake before Lorene could get to the door. Then, Mr. Reuben Storm had opened the door for the man he had assessed to be a gentleman to walk in, but he was halted by Lorene who was already at the door.
“Stephen, Leave my house.”
Lorene hurled without minding the presence of Mr. Reuben Storm.
Now, Mr. Stephen Bailey, who had been longing to see her, was amazed when he heard her voice. Then he gawked at her while concentrating more on the gauze on her head. Then, he ignored her order and walked into the parlor while Mr. Reuben Storm looked on. In his confusion, he asked.
“What happened to you, Lorene?”
However, Mr. Reuben Storm shut the door and walked back to his seat. He gave Lorene a condescending look and thought.
‘Is she not aware of the person she is speaking with?’
From Mr. Reuben Storm’s observation, he judged Mr. Stephen Bailey to be a gentleman based on his family and demeanor. Now, Lorene ignored his question, walked back and took her seat. Then, Mr. Stephen Bailey sat beside her on the double couch with a sense of ownership, not minding whatever relationship that she may have with Mr. Reuben Storm. Now, the aggrieved Mr. Stephen Bailey who felt snubbed asked.
“What happened to you, Lorene?”
He asked with a stern look which sent goose bumps all over Lorene because he was not sounding like the loving and caring man that he was the last time they met, rather like a no-nonsense tyrant. She looked at him in trepidation, but could not respond. Now, Mr. Stephen Bailey concluded that she was not responding because she was with another man. When he was aware that he had registered fear in her, he resolved to take his leave to avoid a showdown with Mr. Storm.
“It is all right. I am glad to see you once again. I will be on my way and take care of yourself.”
Now, he stood up and stretched out his hand to Mr. Storm for a handshake and greeted.
“It is a pleasure meeting you. Goodbye.”
“Goodbye.”
Mr. Stephen Bailey walked to the door with his shoulder raised high, opened the door and walked out before he shut the door behind him. To Mr. Reuben consternation, Lorene was tearing up.
‘I had always suspected that you are a set-up. She may even be responsible for my bombed resort.’
Mr. Stephen Bailey mumbled as he boarded a taxi and left. What Lorene Walker did not understand was that Mr. Stephen Bailey did not have a patient for relationships.
“Do you know him? I mean, are you aware of his identity?"
Mr. Reuben Storm inquired as he gave her a perplexed look. Lorene ignored his question and allowed her tears to flow freely
