Chapter 104: We Love Each Other

Isabelle was shocked, looking at Bryan.
She picked up on Bryan's implication that he had set a trap for Henry on his way here.
Henry was also surprised.
Firstly, Bryan seemed unconcerned about hiding that he had sent Nathan.
Secondly, his safe arrival meant Nathan had been dealt with.
Erick had seemed deflated after learning Henry had dealt with Charles, but Bryan seemed prepared.
Henry couldn't figure out where Bryan's confidence came from.
Henry walked to the table and asked, "So, Nathan was your doing?"
Bryan smiled, "What do you think? I sent Nathan to test your skills, not expecting him to keep it secret.
If you could handle him and his twenty men, you could find out who sent him.
I never intended to keep it from you.
Sit down. Since you made it here, you have the right to negotiate with me. I'm curious what you want from me."
Isabelle then realized Henry had dealt with Nathan and his men downstairs.
She knew Nathan and the top gang leaders in Harbor Springs, thanks to Sean.
She felt guilty looking at Henry, thinking: I didn't mean to betray you!
Bryan's calm demeanor impressed Henry: This guy is not only confident but also quite composed.
At this moment, he still had the composure to discuss qualifications for negotiation. Doesn't he fear I'll kick him down the stairs?
Henry sat across from Bryan and asked, "Wasn't it you who invited me here? Shouldn't I be asking you what you want from me?"
Bryan turned to Isabelle, "Why are you standing? Sit down!"
Isabelle had been sitting next to Bryan, her coffee cup still there. Worried Henry might misunderstand her involvement with Nathan, she didn't want to sit next to Bryan.
Nor did she want to sit next to Henry, especially in front of Bryan.
Henry understood it wasn't the time for jealousy.
He knew he was the only man who had touched Isabelle all over.
If Bryan had feelings for Isabelle, he would treat her like a saint.
Otherwise, with Bryan's demeanor, he wouldn't be a coward around Isabelle.
So, the only explanation was that Bryan didn't care about Isabelle.
In that case, there was no need to lower himself to compete for her.
Seeing Isabelle hesitate, Bryan smiled at Henry, "I didn't expect you to be my rival in love!"
Henry replied expressionlessly, "Rival in love? Are you talking about Victoria?"
Bryan laughed, "You're quite humorous, in a cold way. There's something I don't understand. If you like Isabelle, why force Victoria to divorce me?
Don't you realize that if I marry Victoria, Isabelle will give up on me?"
Henry remained calm, "From your tone, it sounds like you have feelings for Isabelle. If that's the case, why marry Victoria?"
Bryan explained, "Marriage isn't about love. My marriage to Victoria is for other reasons.
In this world, if I love anyone, it's Isabelle.
If you've been around her, you'd know she loves only me!"
Isabelle was deeply moved.
She and Bryan had been dating for over four years, and this was the first time she heard him express his love so openly. Even though it was directed at Henry, it was enough for her.
Henry noticed Isabelle's subtle reaction, feeling a pang of disappointment.
It was clear who Isabelle valued more between him and Bryan.
"In that case, why did you reject Isabelle in front of Victoria and marry her?" Henry smiled, "If she were just a sex worker, that would be fine. But I heard she was kept by your father!"
He finished with a disdainful and contemptuous look.
Feeling disappointed in Isabelle, Henry decided to hit Bryan where it hurt and see his reaction.
If Bryan got angry, Henry would take the opportunity to teach him a lesson.
Surprisingly, Bryan laughed, "If my father hadn't kept her, her looks and background wouldn't have impressed me!"
Isabelle blurted out, "Are you a pervert?"
Bryan smiled at Isabelle, "I know Victoria's affair with my father is well-known, so there's nothing to hide. If you want, sit down, and I'll explain everything to Henry."
Isabelle hesitated, then moved her chair from beside Bryan to the table, sitting between Bryan and Henry.
Though it seemed neutral, Henry felt more disappointed in Isabelle.
She had moved Bryan's chair, leaving an empty one between her and Henry.
Henry had hoped Isabelle would sit next to him, even if she moved a chair.
People's subconscious actions often reveal their true feelings.
Isabelle's seemingly casual move likely showed that Bryan mattered more to her than Henry.
Bryan smiled and turned to Henry, "My parents and I have irreconcilable differences.
They've been pushing me to marry a state leader's daughter.
In this situation, do you think they would accept Isabelle?
So, through Nathan, I learned about Victoria and Erick's shared lover, Victoria, who was also kept by my father. So, I pursued Victoria.
Worried my mother would find out about him and Victoria, my father didn't object.
And the state leader and his daughter, learning I was married, wouldn't accept me.
Once they gave up, I could leave Victoria."
Isabelle didn't believe him, "If that's true, why didn't you tell me?"
Bryan explained, "You might not know, but my parents have money and spies everywhere. If you weren't depressed and disheartened by my rejection, but still cheerful and carefree, would they believe it?"
Isabelle was speechless, her face flushed, "Then why did you humiliate me in front of Victoria when it was just the three of us in the villa?"
