Chapter 23: Spare the Boss
When the fists of the two big men were about to hit Henry's face, he didn't dodge or retreat. Instead, he reached out and grabbed their fists, giving them a strong shake before forcefully pushing them away.
Not only did their elbow joints dislocate, but their bones also pierced through the skin, causing them to fall to the ground in agony.
Just as the leader was about to get up, Henry's foot landed on his shoulder, forcing him back down.
"What the hell..." The leader cursed, but he immediately felt an excruciating pain in his shoulder blades, as if they were about to snap, and he screamed in agony.
With a crisp sound, the onlookers in the distance heard the leader's shoulder blades shattering. Avery and Emily shuddered involuntarily.
Andrew was completely dumbfounded, not knowing what to do as he stood there.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Henry asked.
"Please, spare me, spare me!" The leader was on the verge of tears.
"Are you still going to act tough?"
"No, I won't, I won't."
"Are you going to hit people again?"
"No, I won't, I won't, please spare me, bro!"
"Get down on the ground, all of you!"
After saying that, Henry retracted his foot, and the leader quickly rolled over and lay down on the ground.
The other three big men saw the murderous look in Henry's eyes and obediently got down on the ground.
Originally, the driver could have moved the car forward or backward, but Henry walked over, lifted the rear bumper with his hand, and directly moved the car, leaving everyone speechless.
He walked up to Avery and said, "You can go now."
Avery snapped out of her daze and whispered to Emily, "Let's go quickly too!"
After speaking, she ran directly to the car and drove away.
Only then did Henry turn to Andrew and Emily and say, "Let's go."
"Okay."
Emily glanced at Andrew instinctively, and Andrew nodded and hurried towards the car.
Emily was about to sit in the driver's seat, but Andrew said, "I'll drive." He was a bit worried about Emily's driving skills.
After their car started, the few big men finally got up from the ground, got into their car without a word, and left in a hurry.
It was only after Avery's car had driven far away that she came back to her senses. She was truly impressed by Henry just now.
She thought for a moment, parked the car on the side of the road, and dialed Emily's phone number.
After Emily got into the car, she also couldn't snap out of it for a while.
This time, she truly understood why Andrew was so afraid of Henry getting into fights with people. This guy, once he started, he would really go all out and almost kill someone.
She couldn't let him cause trouble in the future.
Just then, Avery's phone rang.
Andrew was startled and quickly asked, "Whose... whose call is it?"
He was afraid that it might be the other party calling, but also afraid that it might be the police.
The problem was, he didn't consider that neither the police nor the other party would know Emily's phone number.
"Hello, Avery, what's up?" Emily asked.
"Well," Avery said, "didn't you just mention that you wanted to find a job for Andrew's younger brother? It seems like your school is hiring security guards. Shall I talk to Lao Gao and have Andrew's brother work as a security guard? Ask if he agrees or not."
Both Andrew and Henry heard what Avery said.
Emily turned to look at Henry, and Andrew also turned around.
Without hesitation, Henry said, "I'm willing."
Emily immediately said to Avery, "Thank you, I'll wait for your message."
"He agreed?" Avery asked.
"Mhmm."
After hanging up the phone, Avery let out a long sigh of relief, and then smiled mysteriously. She opened WeChat and sent a message to Emily: "Henry is really amazing!"
At the same time, she sent a facepalm emoji.
Emily understood her meaning as soon as she saw it, her face turning red, and she replied with a dagger emoji.
Avery smiled knowingly and drove straight home.
In her mind, she kept seeing the clean and powerful figure of Henry.
Avery had an artistic background and was now the director of the development zone. With her husband Jason being the vice principal, she had been to all kinds of social occasions and had seen all kinds of men.
But she had never seen anyone like Henry before - someone so young, just released from prison, with a fierce demeanor yet a sense of righteousness.
She had also thought about introducing Henry to the Violet Bar, thinking that he might be more suitable there. However, that place was a mixed bag, and if Henry ended up working there, he might repeat his past mistakes.
She didn't want to harm Henry.
Avery lived in a detached villa inside Harbor Springs University. When she got home, she told Jason about the matter, and of course, Jason readily agreed.
He wasn't standing up for Henry because of his wife, nor was he doing it for Andrew's sake. He just felt that by helping Henry, he would also get closer to Emily.
Seeing Henry agree to the security job, Emily was very happy. She just hoped that Henry wouldn't be lazy, neglect his work, or even get involved in the wrong crowd.
Just thinking about Avery's joking words earlier, Emily's face blushed uncontrollably.
Andrew didn't expect Avery to arrange a job for Henry so quickly.
Of course, he was well aware that it wasn't because of him, but because of Henry's actions that Avery felt compelled to return the favor.
He said to Henry, "The security job at our school is good! It's not dangerous, and the pay is decent. Just make sure not to meddle in unnecessary matters in the future, and especially, avoid trouble."
Henry coldly replied, "I never provoke others!"
"Of course, of course," Andrew chuckled nervously.
