Chapter 77: No One Understands Henry's Ways

Victoria was also stunned.
She had expected Henry to make outrageous demands, to extort her heavily.
She also thought that after Isabelle was done, Emily would get her turn, but she didn't expect Henry's condition to be just a divorce.
Henry said, "An elder sister-in-law is like a mother. My mother passed away, so my sister-in-law is like my mother. Before I came to the bar, you slapped my sister-in-law.
When I was knocked down, you kicked my sister-in-law in front of me. Originally, I intended to have my sister-in-law vent her anger and then kill you."
Hearing this, Victoria shuddered.
Henry continued, "But if you divorce Bryan, all previous matters are settled. If you nod, you can leave now.
If you don't nod or change your mind after leaving, I have 100 ways to kill you, and it will be an accident. No one will pay for your worthless life!"
Leaving here, for Victoria, was like escaping from hell.
"Can I really leave?"
Henry nodded.
Victoria quickly got up, but her legs gave out after kneeling for so long, and she fell forward.
Henry caught her with both hands. She looked at him gratefully but quickly lowered her head because Henry's gaze was terrifying. She thanked him repeatedly.
Henry suddenly helped her to the chair he had just sat in. Victoria looked at him in terror, thinking he was going back on his word.
Henry, expressionless, said, "What I say, I never change. If others want to change it, they have to pay with their lives. If I want to change it, I'll end my own life."
These words were cold and hard, sending chills down everyone's spines, not just Victoria's.
"You wait a moment." Henry then turned to Erick, "Now it's time to settle our accounts."
Erick trembled slightly, "How?"
Henry said, "We have two accounts to settle. One is for last night in the private room, and the other is for what you just did."
Erick looked confused, "Didn't you take something from the safe just now? And I didn't do anything to wrong you just now!"
Henry asked, "Is there surveillance in this office? And more than one, including one facing the safe.
You wanted to take money from the safe for me, or let me take it myself.
Whether you gave it to me or I took it, if you hand this video to the police, I'd be charged with burglary. Right?"
Erick's face turned pale.
He always thought Henry was just a brute, not realizing he was so smart and quick-witted, able to see through people.
Henry continued, "If this charge sticks, I'd spend the rest of my life in prison. How do we settle this account?"
"No, I didn't..."
"Do you have the right to explain? Do you have the right to refute? I say what it is. Answer me, how do we settle this account?"
Victoria shuddered again, thinking: how can this country bumpkin be so sharp? Even things I didn't think of, he did. He's a genius!
Erick was tearful.
"You... you decide."
Henry placed his hand on the back of Victoria's chair, causing her to shiver in fear. She never imagined Henry would push her forward and say to Erick, "Marry her, and our accounts are settled."
Victoria sighed in relief, slumping in the chair.
Victoria never thought of marrying Erick, nor did she expect him to marry her. She initially thought Henry was going back on his word, but now she realized it wasn't the case.
Isabelle was confused.
She didn't expect Henry to demand Victoria's divorce and then have Erick marry Victoria, thus completely ending any chance Bryan had.
Isabelle knew Henry liked her and wanted to cherish her.
She had just lost control emotionally, but Henry didn't blame her and even facilitated her relationship with Bryan.
Does he truly love me, or is he just playing with me?
For a moment, Isabelle's mind was in turmoil.
Sean and Emily were also puzzled, unable to grasp Henry's intentions.
But one thing was clear: Henry genuinely cared for Isabelle.
Isabelle wanted to marry Bryan, and Henry was doing everything he could to help her.
Erick was even more dumbfounded, staring at Henry.
Victoria was beautiful, sexy, and even seductive. Playing with her was fine, but marrying her? His head would be permanently green!
When she first came to the bar, Victoria was a pure country girl. If he wanted to marry her, he would have done so then. Now that she was so tainted, marrying her would make people think Erick was either crazy or brain-damaged.
Henry, expressionless, asked, "What, you disagree?"
"No," Erick, organizing his thoughts, smiled bitterly, "This lady likes Bryan. I understand making Victoria back off. You accused me of framing you and didn't listen to my explanation. If you punish me otherwise, I can accept it.
But I don't understand why you insist I marry Victoria?
Marrying Victoria doesn't benefit you."
