Chapter 51: Fierce

Seeing the four thugs charging at him with machetes, Henry did not retreat but advanced, counter-attacking head-on.
Tall and burly, with long legs and arms, he swiftly took down all four with a few powerful blows.
Zack, who had not yet fully recovered from the shock, hurriedly drew a gun from his waist, only to have it forcibly snatched away by Henry, who had turned back around.
"Snap!"
"Aah—"
Zack's wrist was dislocated by Henry.
Henry then kicked him in the neck, causing Zack to collapse to the ground, motionless.
Once, it was Zack who left others lying on the ground, too scared to move. Today, it was his turn to play dead.
He had only one thought: If you have the guts, kill me now. If I get up, I will skin you alive!
Henry rummaged through his belongings, taking a few bullets, his ID card, and driver's license. After a glance, he kicked Zack's tailbone.
Zack, who had intended to play dead, couldn't help but scream in pain.
Henry said, "Remember, if any of your brothers dare to show up at my brother's or sister-in-law's house, everyone at the address on your ID will be killed!"
With that, Henry kicked him in the chest.
"Ugh—" Zack spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Zack, Zack—" Sean's voice came from Zack's phone.
Henry picked up the phone from the ground and said, "If you want to live longer, you'd better listen to Charles!"
He then threw the phone at Zack's face and disappeared down the path.
Charles, leading his men, rushed out only to find the four brothers who had been standing by the car were gone. Running to the car, he saw Zack and the four brothers lying on the ground.
He quickly opened the car door to check and was relieved to find his daughter still asleep.
Charles gently closed the door, then turned to Zack, finding him a bloody mess.
"Get him to the emergency room!"
While instructing some brothers to take Zack and the others to the hospital, Charles drew his gun and chased down the path with the remaining men for dozens of meters.
The path had several forks, making it impossible to determine which direction to pursue.
Charles, stopping in his tracks, suddenly felt a chill down his spine: He had been looking for Henry, yet Henry had been right beside him all along.
How to deal with this cat-and-mouse game?
Charles's phone rang suddenly.
Thinking it was Henry, he took it out but saw it was Sean.
"Charles," Sean asked, "Zack just called me, but then it was Henry talking. What happened?"
Charles retorted, "What did Zack say?"
Sean repeated Zack's instructions, and Charles shook his head in frustration, mainly worried that Henry might misunderstand and think it was his idea.
Since Henry was nearby, there was no point in Sean coming over. He told Sean to return and then quickly ran to the hospital entrance, relieved to see his men guarding the car.
At that moment, Natalie hurried out of the hospital.
Charles quickly asked her if something had happened.
Seeing Charles was fine, Natalie sighed in relief.
She pulled Charles aside and asked, "Henry is still in the operating room, and now Zack is in there too. Who did you offend, and why are both of them gunshot victims?"
Charles shook his head, "I'm not sure either. It's trouble they caused."
He said this to avoid worrying Natalie.
Natalie warned, "You need to be extra careful. Henry and Zack are your closest brothers, and now that they're like this, how could the other side spare you? Also, the hospital has reported the incident to the police. Think about what to say to them."
Charles frowned, "Who called the police?"
Natalie explained, "It's hospital policy. Unless the police bring someone in, knife and gunshot wounds must be reported."
As she finished speaking, a police car drove into the hospital.
Charles immediately instructed his men to go inside and tell the lightly injured brothers not to say anything, only that they were ambushed in the suburbs and didn't see the attackers' faces.
As for Henry and Zack, Charles knew they wouldn't need instructions; they knew how to deal with the police.
He then called a few brothers, took a taxi back to his place, and stationed them at the entrance of his building, then had Natalie drive home with their daughter.
Natalie knew what kind of life her husband led and how powerful Charles was. In the past, whenever her friends or colleagues had troubles, it was always Charles who sorted things out.
She had never seen Charles's brothers so badly injured, nor had she ever seen Charles so panicked.
"Who on earth are they?" Natalie said, "If it gets too bad, just tell the police the truth."
Charles shook his head, "You don't understand..."
"I don't understand the underworld, but the other side used guns. If you tell the police the truth, won't they arrest them immediately?"
Charles smiled bitterly, "The guns are ours, taken by the other side. If we tell the police the truth, they'll definitely get arrested and even sentenced, but we won't fare much better.
If they dig deeper, our brothers will be caught and sentenced, and our company might collapse. I won't end well either."
"So what do we do?"
"We solve it the way the underworld does!" Charles patted her shoulder, "Don't worry, I've seen worse. This will be fine too."
After Natalie drove off, Charles and seven or eight brothers walked to the hospital, seeing the police car parked in front of the inpatient department. Inside, his brothers reported that the police were taking statements from the injured.
Henry had come out of surgery and was in a ward, while Zack had just entered the operating room.
Charles put away his phone and was about to move forward when he suddenly saw a figure emerge from the side. He and his brothers didn't have time to react.
The figure had already reached Charles, holding a gun to his forehead with a cold, expressionless face.
Damn, Henry?
