Chapter 80: Encountering Two Beauties

Henry got out of the taxi in front of the Harbor Springs Hotel and was about to step inside when he noticed two people running across the street. No, to be precise, one person was running, and the other was chasing!

The person in front was a man, and the one chasing him was a woman. The man was running fast, but the woman was no slouch either. Especially the woman, who looked like a well-trained athlete.

Even though it was nighttime, under the streetlights, the white ladies' handbag the man was holding was faintly visible. Robbery?

Henry sprang into action!

A car sped towards him, and just as it was about to hit Henry, he leaped into the air. The car screeched under his legs, emitting a piercing metallic sound.

"In a hurry to get to your grave?"

The driver, drenched in cold sweat, braked hard and cursed at Henry's retreating figure, only to see him disappear instantly. The driver blinked, frowning: Was that a man or a ghost?

The man running ahead heard the car's sudden braking and thought it was the police. He immediately turned into a nearby alley. But he was a step too late!

As he turned, he saw a big guy standing in front of him. The guy looked young but was burly.

"Looking for death!"

The man, holding a knife, lunged at Henry. Henry stepped back, and as the man's arm extended, he grabbed his wrist and threw him forward. The man screamed as he flew several meters, landing face-first on the ground, scraping his face for several inches, and the knife flew out of his hand.

The woman chasing him caught up, bringing a whiff of fragrance as she flashed past Henry. She twisted the man's arm behind his back, pulled out handcuffs from her pocket, and cuffed him with a click.

No wonder!

The woman slung the handbag over her shoulder and yanked the man up, angrily saying, "Run! Why aren't you running?"

The man, with his face scraped and bloody, glared at Henry, "Kid, I'll remember you!"

"Still cocky?"

The woman lifted the handcuffs, forcing the man to bend over, but he still glared at Henry from under his brows.

"Thank you!"

The woman glanced at Henry, her gratitude not sounding sincere. It was clear she thought Henry had meddled unnecessarily, believing she could have caught the thief on her own.

Henry looked her over. She had a ponytail, wore a white shirt and jeans, and sported Martin boots. Her fair skin and youthful appearance made her look like a college student, but her tall and poised figure suggested maturity.

She looked more like a low-key model. Hmm, why does she look so familiar?

Oh! Isn't she Erick's girlfriend, Ella? Compared to her military-style photo on Erick's desk, she looked more down-to-earth, though less striking.

Such a beautiful tough woman, how could she fall for a bar owner like Erick?

Seeing Henry staring at her, Ella frowned. If he hadn't helped, she might have snapped, "What are you looking at?"

Realizing Ella misunderstood, Henry smiled and turned to leave. Ella dragged the thief into a taxi and headed to the police station.

Henry shook his head, unaware that Ella was Cole's daughter and Bryan's sister. He thought she was after Erick's money. Though Ella was stunning, Henry was unimpressed.

As he stepped through the automatic glass doors of the hotel, he saw a lavishly decorated lobby with few people. Despite this, three beautiful receptionists stood neatly at the service desk.

Henry took out his phone and dialed Ruby's number. Before he could speak, Ruby's melodious voice came through, "Come on up!"

Henry took the elevator to the top floor. As he stepped out, a slim, professionally dressed attendant greeted him with a bow.

"Good evening, sir. Which room are you staying in?"

"9999."

"Please follow me."

The attendant led him to the room, where Henry pressed the doorbell, and the door clicked open. As Henry entered, the attendant left.

Wow, poverty really limits imagination.

The opulence of the presidential suite's living room surpassed that of the lobby below. Though smaller, it was over a hundred square meters, with glittering decorations everywhere.

The living room had two tables: a western-style dining table near the entrance and a large round table further in. The walls were lined with wide leather sofas that could double as beds.

The lighting added to the ambiance. Besides the ceiling lights above the tables, there were two glowing European-style lamps on the tables. The walls had lights spaced about a meter apart, and every corner had outline lights.

Between the living room and bedroom was a security door adorned with elaborate carvings. Henry approached to press the doorbell, and it clicked open slightly.

Henry entered to find a large bed, the same one he had seen in the video, big enough for five people. On the bed was the robe Ruby had worn in the video.

The bedroom was as spacious as the living room, but Ruby was nowhere to be seen. From behind a glass wall on the left came the sound of a shower. Through the frosted glass, Henry saw a silhouette moving.

He had thought Ruby was by the door when he rang the bell, but she wasn't in sight. He realized she had opened the door remotely from the shower.

Henry didn't know the room had an intelligent system, with video control buttons even in the bathroom. Ruby had opened the door remotely from the shower both times.

The bedroom had numerous cabinets and a small sitting area with a round table and two animal-shaped fabric sofas, adding a playful touch to the luxurious decor.

Opposite the bed was a dressing table with a massage chair where Ruby had sat during their video call.

The shower stopped. Henry looked at the robe on the bed, wondering what Ruby would be wearing when she came out.
