Chapter 128: Find a Girlfriend Soon

After watching Aurora drive away, Henry felt quite happy. At least he had seen his biological mother. Although they were strangers, he felt a sense of closeness.

However, his rare warm smile quickly turned cold. Some of the thugs had fled, while others hadn't had the chance. Henry grabbed one and dragged him into an alley, learning that Samuel and Erick had been in the car. He also got Samuel's phone number and called it, but Samuel had already turned off his phone.

Henry then called Erick. Seeing Henry's number, Erick felt his head explode! He knew one of Samuel's men had betrayed him. Erick had no choice but to answer.

"Erick," Henry said directly, "This is your last chance. Leave Harbor Springs immediately, or regret it for the rest of your life!"

With that, he hung up. Erick knew this was Henry's final ultimatum. But he was unwilling to leave Harbor Springs, especially after spending 1.5 million on Samuel. Leaving now would mean wasting that money.

He called Samuel, but his phone was still off. No way! Samuel wouldn't back down after losing thirty men, would he?

Erick called Zachary and Nathan, but they hadn't seen Samuel either. They also said Samuel's phone was off.

"Damn it, one of Harbor Springs' top gang leaders, scared off by thirty men?"

Erick thought Samuel had taken his money and run, not knowing Samuel had recognized Henry as Sebastian's son and didn't want to get involved.

Erick hesitated, then called Jason. Whenever he needed police help, he called Jason. Jason's face turned grim when he saw Erick's number.

"Brother," Erick said, "Henry injured twenty or thirty people at the hospital today. Can you talk to the police?"

Jason asked, "What's that got to do with you?"

"It's not that, brother. Don't you know? He took over my bar and wants to drive me out of Harbor Springs!"

"Really?" Jason said coldly. "So you told him about me, Victoria, and the students?"

Damn, is he using that footage now? If he reveals others' secrets, I'm doomed! This kid must die!

Erick quickly explained, "No, I didn't say anything. He took the bar's surveillance footage."

"What?" Jason's face changed. "You installed surveillance in the private rooms? Erick, what were you thinking? Important people visit your bar. If that footage gets out, not even a hundred aunts can save you!"

Erick realized Henry hadn't mentioned the footage. He had incriminated himself.

"Jason..."

"Don't call me brother. Handle it yourself. If you can't, ask your aunt!" Jason hung up.

No wonder Henry dared to cause trouble in his office! Knowing he had video evidence in Henry's hands, Jason felt like he was sitting on pins and needles. He didn't know when Henry might expose him, ruining his career. After thinking for a while, he called Kevin.

"Good evening, sir."

"Oh, Jason, what is it?"

"Erick is a scoundrel. He installed surveillance in some private rooms, capturing footage of important people. Now that footage is in Henry's hands, and he owns the Violet Bar."

Kevin just said, "Oh. Anything else?"

"No, just reporting this. Erick might cause a big scandal. I won't deal with his issues anymore. Sorry to bother you."

Kevin grunted and hung up. Jason knew Kevin's style. He would take appropriate action.

After hanging up, Kevin thought for a moment and called Vanessa.

"Hello, Dad. What's up?"

They had an agreement: Vanessa would call him Dad if someone was around. That way, if she had to leave to talk, no one would suspect anything.

"I heard Henry took over the Violet Bar?"

"Yes."

"Then resign and have your CFO destroy your share agreement."

"No," Vanessa whispered, having stepped out of her office. "Henry appointed me CFO and acknowledged my shares without questioning why I have them."

Kevin realized Henry was quite shrewd, not like a recently released ex-convict with no background. Remembering Ruby's comment about Henry having powerful backing, Kevin wondered if Ruby was behind him.

"Fine," Kevin said. "If it feels right, stay on. I'm retiring soon and may not be able to help you much."

Vanessa smiled, "You've helped me plenty."

Kevin chuckled, "I haven't done much. By the way, you're not getting any younger. Find a suitable partner soon."

Henry's image flashed in Vanessa's mind, and she smiled awkwardly, "I haven't found anyone yet."
