Chapter 182: Avery Completely Gives In
So far, Henry had only kissed two women seriously: Isabelle and Avery. These two kisses gave Henry completely different feelings. Although both kisses were fresh, Isabelle's was innocent, while Avery's was incredibly sensual.
What puzzled Henry was that he felt more nervous and excited kissing Avery than he did during his first kiss with Isabelle. He quickly realized it was due to his mindset.
When he kissed Isabelle, he did so with a sense of pursuit and responsibility, treating her as his girlfriend. Everything felt new but also natural and fearless.
Avery was different. She was someone else's wife and very proud, as evident from her son's comments. Kissing another man's wife brought a sense of fear—not just of being discovered by Jason but also of being seen by others.
This might be why people say stolen things taste sweeter. The thrill of the forbidden added to the excitement.
Henry's hand skipped the outer clothing and went straight inside Avery's neckline. Avery's brows furrowed but quickly relaxed. She had a cleanliness obsession. Jason, always mindful of his appearance, had to wash his hands with soap before touching her. At night, like Emily with Andrew, he had to shower before getting into bed, no matter the weather.
When Henry's hand touched her chest, she felt it was dirty since he had been playing with her son. If it were Jason, she would have threatened to cut his hand off if he didn't wash it. But Henry's touch made her body melt. Women can feel a man's passion through his touch, and Henry's fingers exuded a passion Jason never gave her.
Jason had always been gentle, showing his high standards and respect for her. But in intimate moments, women crave a man's strength and wildness. Jason's gentleness was reserved for his wife, while he unleashed his wild side on other women. Henry's intrusion made Avery experience a different kind of passion, something she had longed for but never received.
So she completely gave in!
Henry, too, was breaking down. He had kissed two women but touched three. Compared to them, Avery, despite having a child, had a chest that felt just right.
As he enjoyed the moment, Emily's image appeared in his mind. He felt that while Isabelle, Victoria, and Avery had their merits, only Emily's body was flawless. He tried to imagine Avery as Emily, but it wasn't quite right.
At that moment, the pot of braised pork started crackling. Avery quickly pushed Henry away, saying, "The oil in the pot is drying up," and rushed to the stove, adding some water.
After putting the kettle back on the stove, Henry hugged her again, trying to kiss her. She said, "I'm cooking now. Go watch TV. We'll talk after dinner, okay?"
Henry reluctantly agreed, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before going to the living room to watch TV.
As he flipped through channels, he heard Avery humming a tune in the kitchen, reminding him of Emily. If only Emily would react to him like Avery did. Trying to redirect his passion to other women to lessen his desire for Emily, Henry found that thinking of Emily only intensified his longing.
During dinner, Avery called Miles down. Seeing the table full of dishes, Miles looked surprised, glancing at his mom and then at Henry, asking, "Why so much food? Can the three of us eat all this?"
Avery replied, "Your Uncle Henry is young and healthy, with a big appetite. You should eat more like him."
Miles said, "Dad is healthy too, but he doesn't eat much."
Avery explained, "He's always out socializing, so he can't eat much at home. Do you think he really doesn't eat?"
Miles didn't say anything more. Usually a picky eater, he ate a lot today, wanting to impress Henry and hoping to grow up strong and handsome like him.
Without asking Henry, Avery took an unopened bottle of Maotai from the cabinet and handed it to Henry. When she went to get the wine, Miles whispered to Henry, "My mom hates people drinking, even my dad can't drink at home. She can't stand the smell of alcohol."
He looked at Henry with a knowing expression, indicating that Avery had no complaints about Henry.
Henry took the bottle and noticed Avery only brought one glass. He asked, "Aren't you having some?"
Avery shook her head, "I never drink."
Henry was skeptical, "How do you manage in the official circles without drinking?"
Avery smiled, "I'm allergic to alcohol. If I drink, I break out in hives. Everyone at work knows, so no one makes me drink."
Henry didn't press further and started drinking. When he was almost done, he asked Miles to get him a bowl of rice from the kitchen. Miles eagerly ran to get it.
Henry, with wine in his mouth, walked over and fed some to Avery. She frowned but swallowed it.
Henry asked, "You look so pained. Do you think I'm dirty?"
"Who said you're dirty?" Avery glared at Henry, "I just can't drink. Look, my face will turn red soon."
Avery wasn't lying. After drinking just a bit, her face turned red.
