Chapter 118: Dominance
After everyone had left, Vanessa kept gazing at Henry with deep affection.
Jonathan and Daniel were overjoyed, feeling proud and vindicated, yet also aware that Henry far outstripped them in both demeanor and courage.
They felt they had chosen the right leader!
Brandon, however, was worried, "Henry, you were too bold just now! In broad daylight, with so many witnesses, using a Desert Eagle... if this gets out, the police will have to intervene!"
Henry confidently said, "Don't worry. Ever heard of 'black eats black'? These guns were taken from Charles. Who knows how many crimes they committed with them.
If anyone dares to report us, how did Charles and his men survive till now?
The thugs won't say anything; they're criminals themselves. And the suppliers, big or small, are businessmen.
They only care about profit. They wouldn't dare report us, even if they wanted to.
Especially after I dealt with Quentin and Zachary, the suppliers are waiting for us to clash with Samuel!
If anyone had a strong sense of justice, how would there be any gang leaders in Harbor Springs?"
"Exactly!" Jonathan said, "The gang leaders' victims are either too scared to retaliate or have no evidence to report them.
We've all heard of the gang leaders' deeds, but who can report them without evidence?
Look at the suppliers today, scrambling to pay and crawling out to save themselves. Self-preservation is their only goal!"
Brandon sighed, "The problem is, Henry has offended both the police and the gangs. Quentin's shares are gone, and he was beaten to the point of vomiting blood. His brother-in-law will have to step in!
And then there's Samuel.
We could handle him easily, but he's a veteran in the gang. Every leader respects him.
Henry didn't just humiliate Zachary today; he left Samuel no choice but to act!"
Jonathan and Daniel were stunned, realizing Brandon had a point. Henry's words left Samuel no room to back down.
If Samuel retaliated, he might team up with Wyatt and Tristan.
They were the previous generation of leaders, once under Cole. After Cole's death, they split into three factions. They rarely interacted, but wouldn't stand by if one faced a major issue.
This meant Henry's actions could challenge the entire Harbor Springs underworld!
This was why Zachary had said Harbor Springs was dangerous.
Henry suddenly asked Vanessa, "Vanessa, what do you think?"
Blushing, Vanessa shyly said, "I don't understand these underworld matters."
Henry nodded, "It's best if you don't. Though you work in the bar, keep yourself clean.
You should go back to finance and prepare. All the suppliers who came today breached their contracts, so all agreements with them are nullified!
Discuss with Brandon and find new suppliers."
Vanessa said, "Some suppliers today were good partners, working with us based on price and trust, not connections.
They came today to understand the situation and test you, and some were just causing trouble."
Henry nodded, "You know them well. Discuss with Brandon and decide who stays and who goes."
Vanessa gave Henry a deep, affectionate look before leaving.
Henry then pulled Brandon to the boss's chair, saying, "Brandon, being cautious is good, but don't worry over small matters."
Brandon looked at Henry in shock, "Challenging the entire Harbor Springs underworld is a small matter?"
Henry smiled, "Do you think Charles will let it go after I drove him out and crippled Henry and Zack?"
Brandon was stunned.
Henry continued, "Erick, Quentin, and Jason's shares are frozen. Do you think they'll ignore it?"
Brandon blinked, speechless.
Henry added, "I crippled Nathan's leg this morning over Bryan. Do you think Samuel will let it slide?"
Brandon sighed, finally understanding Henry's point.
Henry patted his shoulder, "Brandon, since Charles and his men beat me, I've been destined to oppose the entire Harbor Springs underworld.
Either they kill me, or I'll be the future boss of Harbor Springs!
And you, sitting in this vice president's chair, will be a thorn in the side of both the underworld and the police.
If they don't dare touch you, if I'm gone, you three won't escape.
So, I'll ask again, do you really want to follow me?
I'm not provoking you; it's not too late to back out now.
Otherwise, every day you stay, you'll bear my mark deeper."
"Henry," Jonathan said, "there's no point saying this! Honestly, following you is thrilling!
When Daniel and I returned to the bar, we wanted to use our guns but were too scared.
Today, you taught us another lesson!
I have nothing more to say, except that in the future, if there's shooting to be done, just give us a look. You don't need to do it yourself!"
Daniel added, "Yes, Henry, a boss needs to have a boss's presence. If you handle everything, it makes us look useless!"
Henry looked at Brandon, who stiffened his neck, "Why are you looking at me? I just didn't see the need to make enemies everywhere.
But now I understand.
Once we entered the underworld, we either remained low-level thugs forever or rose by spilling the blood of the leaders!
But..."
"But what?"
Brandon frowned, "I think we should avoid using guns if possible. With so many gunshot injuries, the police can't ignore it."
