Chapter 156: What's with Her Today

Henry smiled and said, "Gentlemen, it's a pleasure to meet you."

One of the officers replied, "It's good that you understand, but we still need to see your identification."

Henry responded, "What I mean is, your captain led the team last time and couldn't do anything to me. Today, you want me to come with you, but it's just going to end up with me making another phone call. Isn't this a bit troublesome?"

The officer took out his ID and showed it briefly to Henry, speaking very seriously, "This is our job, and we are following orders. Even if we take you back to the station and you walk out right after, we still have to take you in."

At that moment, a car parked in the distance slowly drove over. Matthew and Ella got out and walked directly towards Henry. Henry kept his eyes on Ella, but her face revealed nothing.

Matthew approached Henry and asked, "No need for handcuffs, right?"

Henry smiled, "Matthew, if you needed something, you could have just called me. Why go through all this trouble? I just took over the Violet Bar; I'm not going to abandon it and run away."

Matthew laughed, "In that case, get in the car. We'll discuss everything at the precinct."

Henry glanced at Ella again, but she remained expressionless. He thought he would be getting into their car, but instead, the two officers escorted him to another vehicle, one in front and one behind, with the officer behind nudging his elbow.

Upon arriving at the precinct, Henry was taken directly to the interrogation room. The two officers motioned for him to sit, but before he could, Matthew and Ella entered, with Ella holding a blue folder, presumably for taking notes.

Just as they entered, Ryan barged in from behind. Matthew and Ella were taken aback, seemingly not expecting him. Ryan asked, "Is this the guy, Henry?"

Without waiting for an answer, he walked over and punched Henry in the left chest.

"What are you doing?" Ella shouted, rushing over immediately. As Ryan prepared for a second punch, Ella grabbed his wrist and flung it aside.

Everyone was stunned, including Matthew and the two officers. Ryan had indeed overstepped. Matthew had led the arrest, so Ryan had no right to come in and act without regard for them. Even so, Ella's reaction was overly intense and unusual. She wasn't even a deputy, yet she was willing to offend Ryan for Henry.

"What are you doing?" Ryan asked in shock, glancing at Ella, then at Matthew and the two officers, "Don't you know he made my brother-in-law kneel and now he's in the hospital?"

Henry said coldly, "So you're hitting me because of that?"

Ryan glared, "What if I am, kid? What are you going to do about it?"

Henry said calmly, "You think you can hit me just because of that?"

Ryan sneered, "What if I do? You don't know who I am, do you?"

"I know," Henry said, "You're one of Harbor Springs' Four Young Masters, right? The top gang leaders in Harbor Springs messed with me, and I took them down one by one. If you Four Young Masters mess with me, I'll make you question your lives one by one."

Everyone present could see that Henry wasn't bluffing. His demeanor indicated that he meant every word.

Ryan, who had seen his fair share of tough guys, had to admit that Henry was the toughest he'd ever encountered. Despite his angry facade, Ryan felt a bit intimidated. He saw himself as the one with something to lose, while Henry had nothing to fear and nothing to lose.

In the midst of the tension, Ella suddenly turned and kicked Henry's leg, "Sit down!"

Matthew and the officers were startled, ready to intervene, fearing Henry might retaliate. But Henry silently sat down, surprising everyone.

Ella continued, "We're about to start the interrogation. All unrelated personnel, please leave."

Ryan glanced at Ella, thinking: I haven't offended her, have I? Besides, my father helped the Davis Family Group grow. Doesn't she know that?

If Henry had been a pushover, Ryan wouldn't have let it go. But seeing Henry's resolve, Ella's order to leave gave him an out. He left angrily but gave Matthew a meaningful look, hinting at an unusual relationship between Ella and Henry, knowing Matthew had been pursuing Ella.

With Ryan gone, they were supposed to interrogate Henry, but Matthew and the officers were all looking at Ella, wondering what was going on with her today.

"Matthew," Henry asked, "Can I make a phone call?"

Matthew stared at Henry for a moment, glancing at Ella, who seemed back to normal, as if nothing had happened.

"Henry," Matthew said, "If you're calling the same person you did last time, I advise against it. The one who ordered your arrest today is the same one who ordered your release yesterday."
