Chapter 142: Is He the Only One?

Henry glanced at Jonathan and Daniel, puzzled. Usually, people cause trouble or vandalize places in the afternoon or evening during business hours. It wasn't even noon yet, and there were no customers, just a few staff members. What kind of trouble could this be?

Samuel? Could it be a trap set by Samuel?

"Who are they?" Henry asked.

"All outsiders, seven of them, each one burly and clearly not here for good," Brandon explained. Henry and his team had just left when these men arrived, demanding to sing. With only cleaning staff in the hall, they started making a scene, flipping tables and smashing things at the bar. The cleaning staff went upstairs to find Brandon.

When Brandon came down, Victoria had just returned and tried to explain that it wasn't business hours. But they insisted on opening a private room. Victoria, quick on her feet, agreed to let them use a room for free, explaining that the staff hadn't arrived yet. The leader accused her of looking down on them, saying they had no money, and continued causing trouble, demanding to see the boss.

Brandon wanted to call the police, but Victoria stopped him. She believed that although they were outsiders, they were likely backed by someone local. Calling the police would only result in a minor mediation, and they'd come back later. It was better to handle it themselves. She called Sean, who was on his way with his men. Brandon, seeing their aggressive demeanor, doubted Sean could handle it and called Henry.

He suspected they were targeting Henry directly.

Henry instructed Brandon not to let Sean's men engage physically. They should stand by to protect Brandon and Victoria. He would arrive shortly with Jonathan and Daniel.

They took a taxi and arrived just as Sean and his men were at the entrance with Brandon and Victoria. Sean's men looked at Henry with some embarrassment but sneered at Jonathan and Daniel, considering them even smaller-time thugs than themselves.

Inside were seven burly men, clearly capable fighters, making Sean's men feel intimidated. They doubted Jonathan and Daniel could handle them.

Before Henry could speak, Jonathan and Daniel shouted at Brandon, "Where are they?"

Sean's men exchanged glances, thinking: The more arrogant they are now, the more scared they'll be later!

Sean approached Henry, "Henry, those guys seem to be fighters from Tristan's underground boxing ring. I haven't seen them, but I've heard of them. They're northern fighters who used to compete in the south. Tristan recently brought them to Harbor Springs."

Henry had suspected Samuel's trap but now wondered if Tristan was involved. Could Samuel have sought Tristan's help?

Usually, big shots wouldn't ask for help in such matters. Even Charles didn't seek help after being beaten. If Samuel had asked Tristan, he would have bragged, not disappeared.

Erick, still resentful, had gone to Tristan, explaining his situation and how Samuel had taken 1.5 million, sent thirty men, failed, and then disappeared. He handed Tristan 500,000 and offered the shares promised to Samuel.

Tristan, skeptical, called Samuel, who didn't answer. He realized Henry was a tough opponent. Erick's visit put him in a tough spot, but he didn't want to be easily bought off. He wanted more money from Erick.

"My fighters aren't cheap," Tristan said.

Erick, prepared, handed over another 500,000 card, "This is all I have! If you succeed, we'll discuss more later."

Tristan, more generous than Samuel, called in his lead fighter. Erick thought he'd give him one card but was surprised when Tristan handed over both. "Go to the Violet Bar tomorrow morning and find Henry. If he hands over the bar, the million is yours. He's not local, just arrived less than a week ago. If anyone else intervenes, I'll handle it."

The fighter, also an outsider, felt confident. He took one card, "This is a small matter. No need to spend so much."

Erick warned, "He's armed!"

The fighter pulled a gun from his waistband, pressing it to Erick's forehead, startling him. The fighter laughed, "He has a gun? What do you call this?"
