Chapter 27: Get Lost.

When Henry walked out of the intersection, he saw Emily from a distance, still standing at the entrance of the residential area across the street, obviously waiting for him, but she didn't see Andrew.

It felt like a mix of emotions in his heart.

It seemed that Andrew hadn't changed at all, not only was he cowardly, but also selfish.

On the other hand, Emily...

Emily was constantly looking around on both sides of the road. She didn't expect Henry to approach from the front until he was right in front of her.

"Henry," Emily instinctively held his hand and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"

It had been many years since someone cared about him like Emily, like a family member.

Seeing Emily's expression and demeanor, a warm feeling surged in Henry's heart.

He tried to control his emotions, gently let go of Emily's hand, and walked towards the residential area with a blank expression, saying, "I'm fine."

Only then did Emily breathe a sigh of relief and followed up, saying, "It seems that your brother made the right call. He contacted Jason, and Jason contacted that guy, Erick. But why did he bring so many people? Is he trying to make you pay? How much does he want you to compensate?"

Henry still said expressionlessly, "I've said it before, paying money means losing, and I've never lost."

Emily glanced at him and thought to herself: What's he pretending for? Just because he didn't lose, does that mean he won't end up in jail?

"Oh, by the way," Emily asked again, "How did you meet Erick? And how did you know he's the owner of the Violet Bar?"

Henry replied coldly, "I saw his business card in his car."

"How can you be sure it's his? Maybe it belongs to someone else?" Emily retorted.

Henry countered with a question, "Would you give someone multiple business cards at once, and in a plastic case?"

Emily was left speechless by his response!

So, Henry had seen Erick's business card in his car.

"Hey, can't you speak nicely?"

"No!" Henry replied coldly, quickening his pace as he walked home.

He had listened to Erick's words and suspected that Emily had cheated on Andrew.

Although Erick had said that Jason had ill intentions towards Emily, who knows if anything had actually happened between them!

And at the entrance of the federal prison, when Henry first saw Emily, he couldn't help but worry for Andrew: can he hold onto such a beautiful woman?

As Henry and Emily arrived home, Andrew, who was in the study looking at the computer, immediately got up to open the door when he saw them pass by the window.

Seeing Henry unharmed, he smiled and said to Emily, who entered after him, "See, I told you Henry is fine. Honey, please cook quickly, I'm hungry."

Emily angrily replied, "Cook? Forget about it! Don't eat anything tonight, starve!"

After speaking, she walked straight to the bedroom.

As she entered, the door slammed shut.

Andrew was taken aback and asked in a lowered voice, "Henry, what's wrong with your sister-in-law?"

In Andrew's impression, he had known Emily for so many years and they had been married for almost a year. He had never heard her use foul language. Why did she say such things today?

Henry coldly retorted, "She's your wife, why are you asking me?"

With that, Henry also entered the guest room, but he didn't close the door.

Andrew was stunned for a moment and sighed, "Alright, I'll cook tonight."

He walked over to the refrigerator and found that there weren't many ingredients. Turning around, he came to the door of the guest room and said to Henry, "Wait a moment, I'll go out to buy groceries."

Seeing that Henry didn't respond, he forced a smile and left.

After he walked away, Henry hesitated for a moment, then got up and went to the door of the master bedroom, knocking three times.

After waiting for a while and hearing no sound from inside, he turned the doorknob and the door opened. He saw Emily sitting on the bed with a gloomy face, her back to the door, looking out the French window.

Henry didn't go in, he just stood at the doorway and said coldly, "How could you treat him like that?"

Emily turned around, her face expressionless as she looked at Henry.

Henry continued, "No matter what happens in the future, as long as you two are not divorced, you can argue, you can make a scene, but you can't threaten him by not cooking."

Emily silently looked at Henry for a while, then suddenly got up from the bed and walked towards the door without saying a word.

Henry thought she was convinced by what he said, but to his surprise, when Emily reached the door, she slammed it shut again.

Henry felt a surge of anger.

He remembered what happened between his stepmother and the village chief. He turned the doorknob again and saw Emily standing in the same position as before, looking at him coldly.

Henry let out a long sigh. Emily thought he was about to give in, but she didn't expect Henry to suddenly rush in, grab Emily's hair, and forcefully push her head towards the floor.

With a thud, Emily fell to the ground, her head pressed against the floor by Henry.

Emily was taken aback.

She, who had been pampered all her life, had never suffered such a humiliation. Just as she was about to struggle and get angry, she heard Henry's cold and stern voice again, "Bitch, don't mess with me, or I'll make you die a hundred times!"

After saying that, Henry let go of her hair and silently turned back to the guest room.

Emily was dumbfounded. She thought to herself, "He actually called me a bitch, why?"

Is it because of my care for him?

Emily couldn't contain her anger and stormed into the guest room, shouting, "Henry, you explain to me why you called me a bitch! Did I cheat on you or sell myself outside?"

Henry coldly replied, "Stop pretending in front of me. I'll give you an answer tomorrow!"

Tomorrow?

Emily was completely confused and didn't understand what Henry meant.

"What do you mean tomorrow or not tomorrow? You have to give me an explanation!" Emily angrily said, "What did I do to deserve your insults? I bought you clothes, let you stay in my house, and cooked for you. Even a dog would know gratitude, right? If you don't explain it clearly today, get out of my house now!"
