Chapter 192: Couldn't Guard Against My Best Friend
Bella's kiss surprised Ivy and left Henry dumbfounded.
They were on a busy street, with students from Harbor Springs University coming and going. Many of them knew Ivy and Bella.
Even if Bella wanted to thank him, as a college student, there were many ways to do so. Why choose this?
She kissed him on the lips!
And judging by her shy demeanor as she ran off with Ivy, she clearly saw him as her boyfriend or was signaling she wanted to pursue him.
Henry shook his head.
He had someone he cared about, Emily. Even without a target, Bella's outlook on life wasn't his type.
Before experiencing women, Bella's sudden kiss might have excited Henry, making him want to pursue her at all costs.
But after spending a night with Ruby, he wasn't as eager. Women were intriguing, but he wasn't as desperate as before.
Watching the two girls run off, he just shook his head and smiled.
Ivy, reluctantly following Bella, glanced back at Henry, relieved to see him walking away.
She feared he would stand there, reminiscing about Bella's kiss and watching them leave.
Ivy shook off Bella's hand, stopped, and scolded her, "Can't you act like a proper freshman?"
Freshmen were usually well-behaved, only loosening up in their sophomore year.
Ivy's reaction was more about jealousy than teaching Bella a lesson.
She never expected Bella to be so bold.
Although Henry had surprised her repeatedly, she wasn't sure if she liked him.
But Bella's brazen act made her uncomfortable.
She couldn't explain why.
Bella, seeing Henry leave, smiled and took Ivy's arm, "Ivy, Henry may not be rich, but he's nice, protective, and makes me feel safe. I won't miss this chance, and I owe you. How did you meet him?"
Ivy glared at her, "Now you ask? What if he was my boyfriend?"
Bella paused, then laughed, "Don't joke. You called him 'Uncle.' How could he be your boyfriend? Is he some distant relative, like an uncle or cousin?"
Ivy found it funny but couldn't blame her. She had labeled Henry as "Uncle" in her phone.
