Chapter 119: Expanding the Team
Henry nodded, "Brandon is right. Avoid using guns if possible.
But recently, especially against the underworld, we need to use them frequently to intimidate them!
Today, I could have beaten them without a gun, but with so many people, the hospitals would be full.
More importantly, they would recover and come back for revenge.
Today's shot will make everyone here afraid to mess with us for life.
Their fear will spread to their brothers.
Even if the three gang leaders unite, their men will still fear me.
And remember, whenever I act, it must be decisive.
In any situation, you must not falter when with me."
Jonathan and Daniel said in unison, "Understood."
"And," Henry told them, "when you use your guns, aim to injure, not kill.
Injuries won't cause much trouble, but a death changes everything."
"Got it!" Jonathan and Daniel nodded.
Henry continued, "Besides, listen to what Brandon said. Only use guns against stronger opponents. Never use them on small-time thugs or civilians!"
"No problem!"
Brandon then said, "Henry's right. Against powerful enemies, we must be decisive.
But we need more people. Charles' defeat is known to Christopher, Ethan, and Gabriel. They want to join us.
They're loyal and good fighters, but Charles' reputation was too strong..."
Henry laughed, "That's normal. No one wants to fight a losing battle.
If they were good friends before, why not welcome them now?"
Daniel gave a thumbs-up, "Henry's magnanimity is impressive. Honestly, though we follow you and have guns, we're still scared when things get serious.
Courage comes from experience.
I told Jonathan that next time, we'll be as fierce as you!"
Jonathan agreed, "We need more people. Their addition will help."
Henry nodded, "It's settled. Brandon will manage the bar. You two, unless I call, go recruit.
We need a core team of twenty to thirty loyal fighters to establish ourselves."
They all nodded.
Henry then told Brandon, "To expand, we need a solid economy. The bar is our only source now, but our earnings must be legal.
Meet with the floor manager and the hostesses and male models. Singing and drinking are fine, but no illegal activities.
Many are watching us. We can't let the police cause trouble now.
Also, no drug users allowed. It's asking for trouble!"
They all agreed.
After giving instructions, Henry rushed to the hospital, arriving over two hours later.
The nurse scolded him for neglecting his health, saying the medicine might have lost its efficacy.
If he wasn't sick, he should leave!
Henry apologized profusely.
After the nurse reluctantly gave him an IV, Henry called Charles.
Seeing Henry's call, Charles frowned.
He had just received a call from Samuel, asking if Henry had taken over the Violet Bar.
Though Samuel's tone wasn't disrespectful, Charles felt humiliated.
He answered Henry's call, "Samuel's issue has nothing to do with me. You injured Nathan and Zachary; he won't let it slide!
He called to ask about the bar and you. He didn't ask for my help, and I won't team up with him."
Henry laughed, "Charles, you misunderstand. I need your help."
Charles was stunned: Is this kid crazy, asking me for help?
"What is it?"
Henry said, "I need more bullets for my three guns. Can you help or tell me where to get them?"
What the hell!
This kid took my guns and now wants me to supply bullets?
Does he think I've completely submitted?
Before Charles could respond, Henry added, "Charles, do you think only friends or brothers deserve help?
Or do you think I see you as a subordinate?
Or are you worried that arming me now will cause trouble later?"
Damn!
This kid guessed everything I was thinking, yet still asked for help?
