Chapter 159: Not Father and Son

"Alright!"
Ruby's words made Quentin shudder. His hand, which was reaching out for Ruby's arm for the third time, froze in mid-air.
Ruby also paused, thinking: What am I doing? Henry is a ruthless person. How could I agree to go outside and negotiate before reaching a settlement?
Ruby clearly regretted her decision and added, "But my husband has to come with us!"
Quentin felt relieved upon hearing this.
No matter how ruthless Henry was, he wouldn't dare lay a hand on someone from the police department, right?
"No problem," Henry said. "Which hotel do you think is appropriate?"
Quentin immediately replied, "Golden Moon Resort!"
Henry nodded, "No problem. It's almost dinner time now. How about we go there now?"
Ruby nodded, "Alright, you head over first. We'll follow shortly."
Henry gave Ruby his phone number, "You know the area better, so why don't you book a private room and let me know?"
"Okay," Ruby said as she turned to leave, with Quentin quickly following.
Matthew's office was next door, and Ella was sitting inside.
Hearing the sound of high heels in the hallway, Matthew and Ella got up and walked out.
They couldn't believe the negotiations had concluded so quickly and assumed they had fallen apart.
"How did it go, sister-in-law?" Matthew asked, even though Ruby was older than him but younger than Ryan, so he called her sister-in-law.
"Oh, we're going to discuss it outside."
"Discuss it outside?" Matthew was quite surprised.
Quentin, with a smile plastered on his face, said, "Matthew, thank you. If we can't reach an agreement, we'll need your help again."
At this moment, Henry also walked out. Quentin quickly tugged on Ruby's sleeve, and Ruby smiled at Matthew and Ella before heading towards Ryan's office.
"What?" Ryan exclaimed when he heard they were going to discuss it outside. He immediately closed his office door and whispered angrily to Ruby, "Are you crazy? Do you think this is a business negotiation? Don't you know Samuel's nephew is still in the hospital?"
"Exactly, I—"
Before Quentin could finish, Ruby glared at him, "Shut up! If you had any backbone, neither I nor your brother-in-law would have to lose face in front of his colleagues!"
Quentin immediately fell silent.
Ruby then turned to Ryan, "He just asked me to name my terms. I didn't want to reveal my cards, so I asked him to show his sincerity first. He suggested changing the location after apologizing to us. I figured, didn't you say he has someone backing him? So, no matter how he treats others, he wouldn't dare do anything to us. Although he's young, he seems to be a reasonable person. He should know how he got caught. Plus, I insisted you be present for the outside discussion. I believe he won't act recklessly. He seems straightforward, and if we reach an agreement outside, he won't go back on his word."
Ryan thought Ruby made sense. Despite being intimidated by Henry's demeanor in the interrogation room, he recalled that he was part of the police force and had his father to back him up. As long as they didn't push Henry to the brink, he wouldn't do anything drastic.
"Where to?" Ryan asked.
"Golden Moon Resort," Quentin suggested. "Isn't that Wyatt's hotel? Brother-in-law, you're on good terms with Wyatt. If he dares to act up..."
Ryan glared at Quentin, "No matter how good the relationship, we can't cause trouble there tonight!"
Quentin quickly smiled, "I know, I know. I just meant you should call Wyatt just in case."
Ryan nodded and pulled out his phone to call Wyatt.
"Wyatt."
"Oh, Zhimin," Wyatt responded. "I was planning to teach Erick a lesson tonight, but since he's in the hospital, that will have to wait."
"Wyatt, it's not about that," Ryan clarified. "Recently, a kid named Henry has been causing a stir in Harbor Springs. You must have heard of him?"
"Yes, I've heard. Even Charles was driven out by him. Tristan mentioned him to me recently."
Ryan nodded, "I'm meeting him at your hotel later to discuss something. Could you book a private room and have some people ready? But try not to cause any trouble unless he asks for it."
Wyatt said, "Don't worry, I understand. This won't involve you."
After booking the private room, Ruby sent Henry a text message.
Henry approached Matthew and Ella, bowing politely, "Matthew, Ella."
Before Matthew could speak, Ella asked, "Was it your idea to talk outside?"
Henry nodded.
Ella advised, "Remember to have a proper discussion outside. Even if things don't work out, don't cause trouble. We're responsible for mediating this. If anything happens, even if the Anderson family doesn't say anything, we won't stand by."
Henry smiled, "Understood. Matthew, Ella, I'll be off then."
Ella nodded, and Matthew just gave a slight nod.
He couldn't understand what Ella saw in Henry. Despite her silence, his male intuition told him Ella liked Henry.
Ella had gone to the hospital for a DNA test that afternoon. Although the results were supposed to be ready in three hours, she had left with Matthew before getting them, convinced Henry was her brother.
She knew Matthew misunderstood her feelings for Henry and would have to wait for the results to clear things up.
As Matthew sat silently, fuming with jealousy, Ella rolled her eyes and returned to her office.
Just as she sat down, the hospital called to inform her that the DNA results showed no blood relation between the samples she had sent.
Ella was stunned.
She immediately called Henry, asking where he was. Henry said he was already at the hotel.
Ella asked which hotel, and Henry said Golden Moon Resort.
Ella told him to call her after dinner as she had something to discuss with him.
Henry readily agreed.
After work, Ella couldn't even eat dinner. She drove straight to the parking lot of Golden Moon Resort, waiting for Henry to come out.
