Chapter 198: Women Are Like Books

Emily's accusatory tone stirred Henry's emotions, giving him a strange feeling. Her tone didn't sound like a sister-in-law scolding her brother-in-law but more like a woman reprimanding her man. She didn't even call his name, just started questioning him, much like a lover would when upset.

However, Henry quickly reassured himself that he might be overthinking it. Although Victoria had said most women had a hidden wild side, and Ruby's behavior over the past three days confirmed this, Henry found it hard to imagine Emily acting like Ruby in bed. Especially if Emily and Andrew's bedroom behavior mirrored that of Ruby and himself, it would be a real tragedy.

So, he preferred to believe he was overthinking it and didn't want to imagine Emily as a secretly wild woman.

"It's not that," Henry explained, "I've been really busy lately, barely had time to even go to the bar."

Emily knew this, as she had been collecting money at the bar daily. She had adjusted her schedule to collect the previous day's money at noon, freeing up her afternoons. Seeing that it was almost time to leave work, and after a visit from Isabelle at noon, she decided to invite Henry out for dinner. She had told Andrew she had something to do in the afternoon, so he should eat at the cafeteria, before calling Henry.

If it weren't for Isabelle's visit, Emily wouldn't have called Henry. She was also very busy, balancing work, collecting money from the bar, and keeping simple accounts, fearing mistakes and feeling pressured. She had no energy to think about Henry.

"Where are you?" Emily asked.

"At my rented place."

"Where did you rent?"

"Supreme Academy."

Emily paused, then realized, "Supreme Academy is right across the street, and you didn't tell me?"

Henry laughed, "I told you, I've been really busy."

"Which building and unit?"

After Henry gave her the address, Emily hung up.

Wow, she's coming over right away!

Henry quickly ran to the supermarket to buy some groceries. When he returned, he saw Emily's car already parked in the community lot. As he approached, Emily took the plastic bags from him without a word and said, "The property management office is still open. Go register my car as yours so it's easier to get in and out."

Emily's tone left no room for argument. Henry handed her the house key and gave her the building's entry code.

Entering the apartment, Emily found the environment nice but felt uncomfortable seeing the girlish decor. She put the groceries by the sink, found the rice in the kitchen cupboard, and started cooking. Then she walked into the master bedroom.

Chaos was her only impression of the master bedroom!

The bed was unmade, and the sheets were a mess. She lifted the blanket and was hit by Henry's strong, unique scent. The first time, she would have been disgusted to the point of vomiting. But now, she not only tolerated it but also missed it a bit. She took a deep breath, taking in the scent.

There was also a faint trace of Ruby's fragrance, but Henry's strong masculine scent overpowered it. After tidying the bed, she noticed stains on the sheets, remnants of Henry and Ruby's activities. Emily assumed they were from Henry's self-relief and couldn't help but shake her head and sigh.

Ruby was also a cleanliness freak, keeping her home and herself spotless, just like Emily. But since she only came at night, did the deed, and left, she hadn't noticed the stains.

Just then, Henry returned, saying he had registered the car. Emily responded with a "Hmm" and lifted the sheet, pointing at the stains, "What's this?"

Henry blushed, unable to speak.

Emily, being experienced, assumed Henry was embarrassed about having a woman in his bed and didn't know how to explain. She continued, "You're at the age to start dating, but don't think about women every night. Even if you relieve yourself, do it in moderation. Too much can harm your health and affect your future married life."

Henry was relieved to know Emily thought the stains were from his self-relief. For a young man, such matters were embarrassing to discuss. But compared to Emily discovering he had a woman in his bed, he preferred this misunderstanding.

Technically, Emily was still married. Even if Henry had a woman in his bed, what did it matter? But Henry didn't want Emily to know he had other women, especially a married one, so he remained silent.

Emily took the sheets and walked towards the bathroom. Seeing Henry's dirty clothes and socks piled up, she took them down and, after a glance to ensure Henry was still in the bedroom, discreetly smelled his dirty clothes and socks. Then she casually asked, "Do you have a washing machine?"

"Yes, on the balcony. I can do it."

"You? Just go watch TV or play on your phone. I'll change the sheets later."

Henry obediently went to the living room, turned on the TV, and sat on the sofa, occasionally glancing at Emily.

Today, Emily wore a navy blue blazer, the kind female executives in private companies wear, with a white shirt underneath. She took off the blazer, hung it on the coat rack by the sofa, and rolled up her sleeves.

The white shirt perfectly outlined her figure, and the faint outline of her white bra underneath highlighted her fullness and charm. The navy blue pants, with their sharp creases, accentuated her tall and slender figure. Her hips were just the right size, with a subtle curve, neither too large nor too small. Her chest, with its straight line, looked neither saggy like some married women nor overly large, but full and upright.

Imagining the feel of Isabelle's and Ruby's chests, Henry thought Emily was his true love. Besides her stunning appearance, he felt that if she were a book, her pages would be fresh, and the content even more exciting!
