Chapter 35: The Arrival of the Hero

Henry looked up at the electronic clock on the wall. It was almost eleven o'clock, but the note said seven twenty. Henry realized something was wrong and immediately rushed to the bar.

Not long after Henry left, under Charles' coercion, Emily dialed the home phone number again. If Henry answered, she would do anything to make him call the police. But the phone rang for a long time with no answer.

Emily felt a sense of despair. She was worried that Henry would come to the bar after seeing the note. However, she was overthinking it. Even if Henry answered her call, he wouldn't call the police. Henry knew that he had to deal with these people in a different way.

Charles sat on the sofa, singing and embracing the moment. Erick, feeling a bit impatient, received a call from Jason, who inquired about the situation. Erick told him that Henry still hadn't arrived and asked him to wait a little longer.

Jason, also becoming impatient, kept fiddling with the photo of Emily on his phone, running his fingers over her clothes in the picture. He even imagined Emily moaning softly...

Soon, the door to the private room of the bar was pushed open, and Henry walked in. Andrew, upon seeing this, didn't give any warning to Henry. Instead, he knelt down and loudly alerted Charles and Erick, "My brother is here!"

It seemed as though they would release Henry as soon as he arrived. It was evident that Andrew didn't think Henry could handle these people, or else he would have stood up long ago.

"Go!" Emily, on the other hand, got up from the ground and ran towards Henry, disregarding everything. She didn't expect Henry to be able to fight these people, which was why she was worried for him.

Suddenly, Victoria, who was singing, kicked Emily from the side, sending her flying. Just as Henry was about to rush over, one of the thugs pointed a gun at Emily's head.

Another thug pulled out a gun and aimed it at Andrew's head. Andrew was terrified and shouted, "Didn't my brother come?"

In other words, it's not my problem now! Henry didn't expect them to have these kinds of people, especially with Emily and Andrew's lives at risk. He dared not move.

At that moment, Henry also held a gun, walked over, and pointed it at Henry's head, sneering, "Kid, I thought you were good at fighting. I remember you said you would only give me one chance, and unless I closed your account, I would be worse off than anyone else."

After speaking, he used the gun to strike directly at Henry's head! Henry was considering snatching the weapon from Henry, but hesitated when he saw Emily lying on the ground with a gun to her head.

At that moment, dozens of thugs rushed in from outside the door, filling the entire private room. Seeing Henry pointing a gun at Henry, they immediately rushed forward, relentlessly beating Henry to the ground, bruised and swollen.

The music stopped. The thugs made way between Charles and Henry. Before Charles could come over, Henry tapped Henry's head with the weapon and asked, "Kid, surrender?"

Henry spat out a mouthful of blood and said, "Every dog has its day. Let go of my brother and his wife."

Henry sneered, "Thinking about brotherhood at a time like this? Consider yourself first. Will you even make it out alive tonight?"

Henry looked at Henry coldly. "You're older than me, and I call you big brother. I thought you were a real man, but all you can do is rely on numbers. If you want me to surrender, it's either a one-on-one fight or you let go of my brother and his wife, and I'll take on all of you!"

Although Henry's face was bruised and bloodied, his gaze sent shivers down Henry's spine. Henry was a ruthless person, and at this moment, he could feel that Henry was even more ruthless than himself!

The other thugs, realizing that they couldn't shut him up, continued to beat him mercilessly. When Charles walked over, they stopped.

Charles squatted down and looked at Henry, who was already unrecognizable from the beating, and said expressionlessly, "It seems you can fight, but is that all that matters in today's society? It's about intelligence, power, and wealth. Little brother, you're still too naive."

Erick walked over and kicked Henry in the back a few times. "Kid, scared now? Where's your toughness from this afternoon?"

Henry said, "Boss Tu, you're in business. Why are you getting involved in these matters? You're asking for trouble at a time like this!"

Damn! He had seen people talk tough, but never someone so defiant. They were all beaten to the ground and couldn't move, yet he still dared to threaten.

The thugs started beating him again. Emily, lying on the ground, cried out, "Please, stop! Someone will die if you keep going. Please..."

Andrew, either too scared or trying to distance himself as much as possible, knelt there in silence.

Charles signaled for his brothers to stop and then asked, "Still have the energy to talk?"

Even the toughest person would probably play dead at this point. In the face of being outnumbered and beaten by Charles and Henry, anyone would do the same.

Unexpectedly, Henry replied, "Yes!"

Although he was almost out of strength, his tone remained firm. Charles and Henry were both taken aback. Was this kid brave or just plain foolish?

Charles pondered for a moment and asked, "Alright, tell me, you've injured my brother. How do you want to settle this?" Henry replied, "Can I make a phone call?"
