Chapter 193: Who's Telling the Truth?
Wyatt and Xavier had just arrived at the entrance when Henry arrived by taxi. Wyatt warmly greeted Henry with a handshake, to which Henry responded politely, "Hello, Wyatt!"
Wyatt introduced Xavier to Henry, but Xavier remained silent.
Firstly, his men were injured and still in the hospital.
Secondly, Owen had mentioned Wyatt and Xavier, yet Henry showed no respect and even threatened to flatten Wyatt's Golden Moon Resort.
Thirdly, seeing Wyatt seemingly elevate Henry made Xavier swallow his pride.
Henry, however, acted as if nothing had happened, greeting Xavier and shaking his hand.
Out of respect for Wyatt, Xavier forced a smile, which quickly faded.
Wyatt led Henry to the largest luxury private room, where four expensive dishes had already been served.
These were premium dishes, and the room could accommodate twenty people, yet only the three of them were present.
Clearly, the meal was meticulously planned.
Three types of wine were on the table.
One was a prestigious Lafite, another was Harbor Springs, Wyatt’s favorite, and the third was a strong liquor.
Given the sensitivity of their conversation, Wyatt dismissed the waitstaff, leaving only his driver and bodyguard, Peter, to serve them.
When Wyatt asked Henry what he would like to drink, Henry straightforwardly said, "I've already had lunch, and I believe Wyatt and Xavier have too.
Since that's the case, let's get down to business, shall we?"
Wyatt laughed, "No rush, no rush. Even if we've eaten, we can still have a few drinks."
Henry smiled, "Wyatt, you've been my age before and know that we young people are impatient.
We can drink after we talk business.
It's hard to enjoy a drink with something on your mind."
Wyatt chuckled, "You're the owner of the Violet Bar now, a businessman. You'll have many social engagements in the future.
You need to learn to navigate these situations. Sometimes, deals made over drinks can't be settled with knives and guns."
Henry clasped his hands in a gesture of respect, "Wyatt, I appreciate the lesson. I hope I can often learn from you in the future."
Wyatt laughed heartily, "There will be opportunities, but it depends on whether young people like you are willing to listen to us old folks."
Henry said, "Thank you.
As long as Wyatt is willing to teach, I, Henry, will listen attentively."
Sitting nearby, Xavier couldn't help but snort.
It wasn't loud, and in such situations, others would usually ignore it.
Unexpectedly, Henry turned to Xavier and asked, "Xavier, is there some misunderstanding between us?"
Wyatt's face darkened as he glanced at Xavier.
Xavier knew Wyatt was displeased, but he couldn't swallow his anger.
His twenty-odd men were in the hospital, and Wyatt was fraternizing with this young upstart.
Xavier deliberately avoided looking at Wyatt, staring directly at Henry, "Misunderstanding? I wish it were a misunderstanding.
Over twenty of my men are in the hospital.
If it were just a case of toughening up, I could let it go.
But my men mentioned Wyatt and me, and you not only showed no mercy but also threatened to flatten the Golden Moon Resort.
If you didn't know my uncle or me, that would be one thing, but we met in the private room downstairs the day before yesterday.
Henry, I call you brother to ask, what kind of misunderstanding is this?"
Henry's smile faded as he pulled out his phone.
Seeing this, Xavier instinctively leaned back.
As a martial artist, if Henry attacked, he would quickly leap at him.
Peter, also a tough character, placed his hand on his lower back.
He, too, was a martial artist, with three throwing knives strapped to his back.
In close combat, his knives were almost as effective as a Desert Eagle.
Wyatt remained calm.
Seeing Henry pull out a phone, Xavier and Peter relaxed.
Henry asked, "Did Owen tell you that he mentioned your names, I showed no respect, threatened to flatten the Golden Moon Resort, and injured them all?"
Xavier said, "Not only that, you also told them to bring their girlfriends to your bed at night.
I can't understand, even if each had one girlfriend, that's nearly thirty. Can you handle that in one night?
So I wondered, not giving me face is one thing, but Wyatt met you and exchanged numbers. Isn't that too disrespectful to Wyatt?"
Wyatt had planned to ask Henry these questions, but he was creating an atmosphere, waiting for the right moment to ask them one by one.
Although the atmosphere was tense now, since Xavier had laid out the questions, Wyatt remained silent, wanting to hear Henry's explanation.
Henry nodded, "Xavier, you're right. Handling twenty or thirty men is one thing, but that many women is absurd.
I did what I did and still insist on it, not out of disrespect for Wyatt or you, but because they threatened to gang-rape my girlfriend in front of me.
So, no matter what we discuss today, if I don't see their girlfriends tonight, I'll go to the hospital and send them to the morgue myself."
Damn!
Wyatt, Xavier, and Peter, though standing several meters from Henry, could feel the murderous aura emanating from him, chilling them to the bone.
Henry continued, "As the saying goes, even a dog looks at its master. Even if I didn't like Owen and his men, once they mentioned Xavier and Wyatt, I would certainly show respect.
The problem is, when I asked who their boss was, they said Owen was the boss of Harbor Springs.
I'm not saying this to be disrespectful to you as the bosses of Harbor Springs.
I thought they were just some greenhorns who needed a lesson."
Xavier spread his hands, "Should I believe you or my brothers?"
