Chapter 197: You Should Find a Man

Henry smiled without answering. Victoria also smiled knowingly. She knew Henry was referring to Ruby. "Henry, if anyone should thank me, it should be Ruby!"

"Why?"

"You must be her first, right?"

Henry nodded.

Actually, after spending the first night with Henry, Ruby had called Victoria the next day. She felt she couldn't hide this from Victoria, who had played matchmaker. She didn't directly thank her, as that would seem too crass and imply Ruby was a repressed woman. Instead, she simply told Victoria she had been to Henry's place the previous night.

Both women were smart. Ruby's statement not only showed she was satisfied with the previous night but also expressed her gratitude to Victoria. Otherwise, she wouldn't have made the call or mentioned it so casually. If she were unhappy, she would have complained or been hostile.

Victoria had laughed and asked, "So, how was it? Was he inexperienced?"

Ruby had quietly confirmed.

Victoria then asked, "So it wasn't just once last night, was it?"

Ruby, blushing, admitted, "Three times."

Victoria had laughed, "Sis, it's been a while since you had such fun, hasn't it?"

Ruby had shyly replied, "Stop teasing me. I'll treat you to tea."

Honestly, Victoria had felt a mix of envy and jealousy, but no malice. She knew she wasn't Henry's type. But she was pleased that this incident had made Henry trust her more. As expected, Henry's attitude towards her became more friendly.

When Henry asked why Ruby should thank her and not the other way around, Victoria explained, "If you were an older man wanting to play with a young wife like Ruby, then you should thank me. But this is different. You're young and never been with a woman. For Ruby, this is a classic case of an older woman seducing a younger man. So, she should thank me."

Henry thought: If Emily thinks the same way, would she feel she was taking advantage if she were with me?

Henry touched Victoria's face again and asked, "If we were together, would it be an older woman seducing a younger man?"

Victoria forced a smile, "Absolutely. But Henry, don't joke about this with me. I'm not your type."

"By the way," Henry asked, "what's going on with Bryan?"

Victoria sneered, "What do you think? I haven't seen him recently. I've been staying at my other place. I haven't called him, and he hasn't called me. I heard he's been with Isabelle every day."

Henry felt genuinely happy for Bryan and Isabelle.

"Victoria," Henry said, "you're not getting any younger. You should think about your future. If you find someone suitable, you should consider settling down."

Victoria shook her head, "Henry, I'll be honest with you. It's tough for someone like me. I've seen all kinds of men, and it's rare to find one I truly admire. Those who do exist wouldn't be interested in me. Financially, I'm not in a bad position. Men better off than me are usually already married. I don't want to marry someone divorced or widowed with kids. Men my age often aren't as well off as I am. If they pursue me, it's either for my looks or my money. If I find someone genuine, great. But if I get someone who cheats me, I'd lose everything."

Henry realized it was indeed challenging for a woman like her to find a suitable partner. She and Erick could have been a perfect match, but Erick had ruined it for both of them.

Victoria continued, "I don't think about anything else now. I just want to build something with you. If you don't mind, I'd like to invest in any new projects you have."

Henry touched her face again, "I almost forgot. The bar suits you. How about you buy into the bar? When I have new projects, I might move Brandon, and you can manage the bar."

"Thank you, Henry," Victoria smiled bitterly, "I've had my highs and lows with bars. I don't want to do it again. But for any other ventures, I'm willing to invest. I can easily come up with 200,000. If you have any suitable projects, please consider me."

Henry nodded, "Don't worry, I won't forget you."

"By the way," Victoria said, trying to further bond with Henry, "how's Ruby in bed? Are you satisfied?"

Henry thought: For me, there's no satisfaction or dissatisfaction. It's all new and exciting. But he couldn't say that, or he'd seem inexperienced.

"How to put it?" Henry smiled, "She's great, but she doesn't talk much. In three nights, we've barely spoken ten words."

Victoria thought: Wow, she's insatiable! Three nights in a row?

Victoria realized Henry was ruthless towards men and enemies but gentle with women. Even with her, he was kind.

Victoria laughed, "Everyone gets what they need. Henry, you've never been with a woman, so you care about their feelings and think they deserve some sweet talk. But Ruby, like all married women, is different. They're not looking for a relationship or marriage; they just want physical pleasure. As long as they're satisfied, you don't need to treat them like a girlfriend. Women tend to start reserved, but over time they become talkative. Eventually, you'll find it annoying."

Henry smiled without responding.

"I'm serious!" Victoria said, "Look at any couple. It starts with the man talking more, but eventually, the man goes silent at home, and all you hear is the woman chattering endlessly."

Victoria's words perfectly described typical marital dynamics. Henry thought: Emily wouldn't be like that!

Henry had Victoria drop him off at the community gate, planning to pick up Miles. Suddenly, he received a call from Emily, which surprised him.

Answering the call, Emily's slightly accusatory voice came through, "If I didn't call you, would you never call me?"
