Chapter 43 Deceived.

Emily saw the newly bought chamber pot and many other daily necessities under the bed, and she knew it was Isabelle who bought them.

However, in her rush to blame herself for leaving in haste and forgetting to prepare these things, she not only felt no gratitude towards Isabelle but instead a kind of indescribable disgust.

Although everything in front of her proved that Isabelle had not lied, if Henry hadn't saved her, she wouldn't have had this 180-degree attitude change.

But in Emily's impression, Isabelle was definitely a scum girl who hung out with the underworld, not knowing how many men she had been with, and now she wanted to seduce Henry.

In her opinion, if it was solely based on appearance, Isabelle was a perfect match for Henry.

The problem was, Isabelle was carrying a stack of green hats. Whoever married her would end up with a head greener than a meadow.

Emily said expressionlessly, "I can't sleep at night, so I'll come to take care of you."

After speaking, she subconsciously glanced at Isabelle.

Isabelle seemed oblivious, completely absorbed in playing with her phone.

"No need," Henry forced a smile. "Isabelle is taking care of me. You have classes tomorrow, so go back and rest early!"

Upon hearing Henry address her as "Isabelle" again, Isabelle's face blushed slightly, but she still didn't lift her eyelids.

What a mess!

They were strangers during the day, even getting into a fight, yet at night they were so intimate. If someone didn't know, they would think they were a pair of bickering lovers.

Emily glanced at Isabelle again and increasingly felt that she was scheming, having already captivated Henry's soul.

Henry, who was inexperienced, would surely be at her mercy. He had no idea when he became so clueless.

"I'm fine," Emily said. "Let her go home. She's also injured today and should rest early."

The implication was clear: Henry, you have no dignity, beating her during the day and then letting her take care of you at night. Why don't you have a little guard against her?

Henry turned his head and glanced at Isabelle, who was still engrossed in her phone.

She had no intention of leaving, and Henry didn't want her to go either.

"Sister-in-law," Henry turned to Emily and said, "you should go back early. I'm really fine."

In front of Isabelle, Emily couldn't speak her mind. While hesitating, her phone suddenly rang.

Emily frowned, looking displeased.

She thought it was Andrew calling, but when she picked up the phone and saw it was Jason, she instantly became furious!

If it weren't for his call, how could the family have suffered such a big loss tonight?

But considering he was a leader, he shouldn't be colluding with Erick and the others, right?

As Emily turned to answer the call, Henry suddenly whispered for Isabelle to follow and listen to who was calling.

Isabelle looked at Henry in confusion, not understanding why he wanted to eavesdrop on his sister-in-law's call.

Henry explained, "Hurry and listen. I'll explain later."

Isabelle widened her eyes and retorted, "Who do you think I am? You're actually ordering me around?"

While saying this, she got up and quietly walked to the door, gently opening it and peeking outside.

Seeing Emily holding her phone and walking towards the end of the corridor, Isabelle stealthily followed.

She soon returned, her brows furrowed, looking impatient.

"It seems to be their vice principal," Isabelle said. Then she turned her eyes and asked, "Your sister-in-law came to take care of you late at night, and you eavesdropped on her call. Is there something between you two that should be kept secret?"

"It's indeed him!" Henry explained. "Tonight, he called my brother and sister-in-law to meet with my enemies. As a result, my enemies kidnapped them. Otherwise, I wouldn't have suffered such a big loss."

Isabelle nodded as if understanding. It made sense. Henry was so capable that even with many people, it would be difficult for them to defeat him unless his family was taken hostage.

"Who are your enemies, and why are they related to your sister-in-law's vice principal? Also, according to your brother, you just got out of prison this morning after serving six years. How come you have enemies already? Are they the same enemies you had before you went in?"

Henry shook his head. "Do you know the Violet Bar? The owner is my enemy."

"What?" Isabelle asked with widened eyes. "Did they beat you? Is Sean there?"

"No, he's not. Why?"

"Oh, I thought he was getting back at you. He's now with Charles, and he's the one in charge of the Violet Bar. I'll give him a call and ask him to find Charles."

"Don't!" Henry said. "I'll handle this myself. Also, have you known Sean for many years?"

"What do you mean by that?" Isabelle looked at Henry with a sideways glance. "Sean is just from the same village as me. After graduating from junior high, he came to Harbor Springs. How could I, a university student, possibly have a romantic relationship with him?"

At that moment, Emily entered and glanced at the two of them, saying, "Then I'll go back first. I'll bring breakfast early tomorrow. Henry, is there anything you want to eat?"

"No need. I'm not hungry with the IV drip. By the way, who called just now?"

Emily hesitated for a moment but decided to tell the truth. "It was a call from our Jason. He said he had originally made plans with Erick to meet tonight and settle things. Unexpectedly, a leader from the federal government came and temporarily asked him to accompany, resulting in him drinking too much. He called your brother just now, and now he's calling me."

Henry said, "Jason won't lie. It must be Erick deceiving him."
