Chapter 22: Rogue
Andrew saw that Avery's car was blocked and immediately said to Emily and Henry, "You two go ahead and get in the car. I'll go take a look."
Although he was timid and didn't want to cause trouble, Avery was Jason's wife, and if something happened to her, Andrew couldn't just ignore it.
Moreover, it was broad daylight, and they were on a pedestrian street. The person blocking Avery's car wouldn't expect any trouble, so Andrew planned to reason with them.
Emily, however, didn't get into the car. Instead, she stood at a distance, observing the situation.
Henry opened the car door and put the clothes Emily bought into the car, all while keeping an eye on Avery.
Avery walked over and knocked on the car window, asking, "Hey, why are you parked like this?"
The driver rolled down the window, smiling at her.
The person in the passenger seat turned to her with a smirk and said, "Hey, beautiful, what's up?"
Avery furrowed her brows.
The person's smirk disgusted her, and she asked, "Didn't you see there's a car parked inside? How am I supposed to get out if you're blocking me here?"
The person teased, "The weather is nice today, and the car won't be able to come out anyway. How about we go to a cafe?"
"What do you mean, go to a cafe? Are you crazy?" Avery snapped, "Hurry up and move your car!"
At that moment, the window of the back seat rolled down, and a burly man sitting there also smirked and said, "Wow, the beauty is quite something. She can tell our boss is sick at a glance."
Another man chimed in, "Our boss is impotent. How about you help him with that?"
"You thugs!" Avery's face turned red as she exclaimed, "If you don't move your car, I'll call the police!"
"Haha, call the police?" the person in the passenger seat laughed, "If the police ask you how I'm a thug, should I say I touched you above or below? How would you answer?"
"You..." Avery was left speechless by the retort.
"What's going on, Avery?" Andrew had walked over by this time.
Avery, with a flushed face, said, "They're harassing me!"
Goodness, four burly men with a menacing look?
Andrew took a look and was so frightened that he trembled. He never dreamt that there would be such a group inside. Cold sweat broke out on his back.
"Brothers," Andrew forced a smile and said, "We have an urgent matter with Avery. Could you please let us through?"
Seeing Andrew's gentle appearance and the fear in his eyes, the person in the passenger seat impatiently glared at Andrew and cursed, "Damn it, get out of here!"
If it weren't for Avery, even if it were Emily, Andrew would have probably dragged her away by now.
Can't afford to provoke, can't avoid it either, right?
But because it was Avery, Andrew couldn't just leave her. He could only brace himself and say, "If you're going to be unreasonable, we'll have to call the police."
When Avery mentioned calling the police, they didn't take it seriously.
But when Andrew also mentioned calling the police, it immediately angered them.
Except for the driver, the other three men all got out of the car at the same time.
The person who got out from the passenger seat asked, "You're calling the police, huh?"
The burly man who came from the back seat near Andrew slapped him hard and said, "You want to call the police? Here, have some material!"
Andrew was already feeling guilty and never expected the sudden slap from the other side, staggering him.
Avery reached out to support Andrew and angrily exclaimed, "Who do you think you are to hit someone?"
Emily, who was watching from a distance, immediately ran over.
At the same time, a gust of wind was felt, and Henry rushed over like a whirlwind.
The burly man sneered, "Do I need a reason to hit someone? Just passing the time... Ah!"
Before he could finish his sentence, he caught a glimpse of someone running towards him. As he turned, Henry's flying kick landed, hitting him in the lower abdomen.
He looked like he weighed at least 180 pounds!
But he was sent flying, crashing into the car, denting the door heavily!
Avery was stunned: He's so powerful?
The driver, seeing this, exclaimed and immediately got out of the car.
The man standing by the passenger door and another burly man shouted in unison, "You're asking for death!" as they circled around the car and all three of them lunged at Henry almost simultaneously.
On the pedestrian street, bystanders stopped and watched.
They didn't see the moment Henry kicked, but they saw the three men charging at him and thought, "He's done for. It would be a miracle if this young man isn't beaten to death!"
Andrew, seeing this, instinctively took a step back.
Avery, realizing the situation, immediately rushed to Henry's side and angrily confronted the three men, "What do you think you're doing?"
Emily also ran over at this moment, grabbing Henry's arm and trying to pull him behind her.
The three men, full of hostility, seemed to pay no attention to the fact that Avery and Emily were women, displaying an unstoppable force.
Henry shook off Emily's hand, pushed Avery's shoulder, and leaped into the air, delivering a powerful kick.
With a few thuds, all three men were hit hard in the neck.
The two men on the left and right staggered and fell.
The leader who got out of the passenger seat fell flat on his back.
After the two men regained their footing, they simultaneously roared and lunged at Henry with their fists.
"Be careful!" Avery and Emily shouted in unison.
Crack!
The two men fell to the ground, their elbow joints protruding from their skin.
In the midst of the bloody scene, a piece of white bone was exposed, sending shivers down everyone's spines.
