Chapter 63: The Real Man

After Henry's IV was finished, it was already past 4 PM. The nurse cleaned up, and a tired Isabelle yawned. Henry suggested she rest on the bed, but Isabelle shook her head, saying she couldn't sleep well in the hospital and wanted to go home for a proper rest.

Henry immediately offered, "How about I go home with you?"

Isabelle retorted, "Aren't you supposed to have a fight tonight? What, you're not going?"

"It's at 8 PM. I can take you home, sleep with you for a while, and have dinner together!"

Isabelle said, "I thought you'd give up the fight for me!"

Henry replied, "Tonight's fight is crucial for my standing in Harbor Springs. If I don't go, I'll have to leave Harbor Springs. Besides, Victoria still owes you. To settle the score with her, I need to deal with Charles first. If I can't handle Charles, how can I face Victoria without risking my life?"

Isabelle frowned. "I think you're not very smart. Do you like me or not?"

"Is that even a question?" Henry said, reaching out to hug her waist and leaning in for a kiss.

Isabelle pushed him away. "If you like me, shouldn't you want Victoria to marry Bryan? From what you said, you're trying to break them up to avenge me."

"That doesn't conflict," Henry said. "Whether she's with Bryan or not, you're still my woman. You probably don't want to see Victoria and Bryan together, right? To prove I can do anything for you, I must make Victoria leave Bryan!"

"And if Bryan comes after me?"

"Unless his bones are harder than my fists!"

Isabelle rolled her eyes. "If I don't want you to go tonight, would you give up the fight for me?"

Henry shook his head. "If it weren't for you, I could just leave quietly and return to my village. But because of you, I not only need to establish myself in Harbor Springs but also create a great career so you can be proud in front of your family and friends. You deserve it after four years of college and being so beautiful."

Isabelle shook her head and sighed. "You're too confident. You'll die from it someday! I don't want to be a widow before I even get married. Goodbye."

She turned to leave, but Henry held her tightly, kissing her passionately. For Isabelle, Henry's kisses were electrifying, making her lose all resistance.

Isabelle realized Henry was her destined man, but she didn't want to accept it. As the first and only female college graduate from her village, she couldn't marry a criminal. It would be too humiliating for her and her family.

Henry's kisses grew more intense and unrestrained, making Isabelle feel both pain and excitement. The kiss lasted until Emily brought dinner in the afternoon. Isabelle, embarrassed, tidied her clothes and hair.

Emily smiled and invited them to eat. While washing dishes, she quietly asked Isabelle if she had persuaded Henry.

Isabelle shook her head.

Emily was stunned.

Isabelle, who had a boyfriend, was now almost Henry's lover. Was Henry so stubborn that even a woman couldn't sway him?

Emily whispered, "Should we call the police?"
