Chapter 175: This Kid is Really Tough
The amusement park had artificial hills and small mounds, but no significant buildings except for a three-story structure near the swimming pool, labeled "Sanda Fighting Training Center."
That was the office building and the underground gym.
Henry walked over but found no one around.
Victoria had told him that the underground gym was in the basement of the three-story building, with a large area and two boxing rings.
One was a standard boxing ring, and the other was surrounded by wire mesh.
The bets on the wire-mesh ring were ten times higher than those on the standard ring.
However, the standard ring was usually the only one in use. The wire-mesh ring was reserved for special occasions when big shots had pre-arranged fights.
The big shots favored these life-or-death fights for the thrill and to select bodyguards.
Henry took out his phone and asked Erick for Tristan's number, then dialed it.
Tristan didn't answer the first two times, thinking it was a wrong number or a spam call.
The third time, Tristan answered impatiently, "Who is this?"
"Henry."
Tristan was taken aback and put the call on speaker because Gavin was beside him.
"Oh, you're Henry. I've heard of you. Weren't you..."
Henry interrupted coldly, "Cut the crap! Didn't you ask Erick for 3 million? I brought it. I'm at your gym entrance. Come and get it."
Tristan was shocked, thinking Erick had betrayed him.
He signaled to another subordinate to bring over a laptop. The subordinate complied, and they accessed the amusement park's surveillance footage.
Gavin opened several windows and saw only Henry.
Both Gavin and Tristan gasped. Knowing they had firearms, Henry still dared to come alone?
Gavin stood up, ready to head to the gym.
Tristan raised his hand to stop him and said to Henry, "Henry, maybe there's a misunderstanding between us?"
Henry calmly replied, "Misunderstanding? Aren't those fighters your people?"
Tristan explained, "That's why I want to skin Erick alive. He came to me, but he had already set his sights on those fighters. He knew I was out of town. He secretly gave them 1 million to take you out. They only called me after leaving Harbor Springs. I was so angry I demanded 3 million from Erick. If he didn't pay, I'd kill him. I didn't expect him to bring you here. Aren't you supposed to be enemies?"
Henry smiled, "So you're not in Harbor Springs?"
"No."
"When are you coming back?"
"In the next couple of days."
Henry said, "Alright, I'll wait three days for you. When you return, we'll meet."
"Okay."
"But in those three days, don't open your gym. If you do, I'll smash it each time!"
Tristan laughed, "Young man, don't be impulsive. Do you know who you're talking to?"
"I do," Henry said. "In three days, you might be lying in a funeral home."
He then hung up.
"Damn," Gavin jumped up, "I'll..."
Tristan waved him off. From the surveillance and conversation, he realized Wyatt was right. Henry was more ruthless and deadly than his father, Sebastian.
Sebastian was ruthless but always assessed the situation before acting. Henry, knowing Tristan's status, dared to challenge him alone and even threatened to close his gym. He even issued a death threat.
After pondering for a while, Tristan asked Gavin, "You had three guns, and he was unarmed and unprepared. How did you miss?"
Gavin had brought three handguns back, and Tristan had briefed him on Henry.
He had heard Henry was an outsider, ruthless like Charles but without Charles' power. Tristan wanted Gavin to observe and wait for the right moment, aiming to cripple Henry without causing a fatal incident.
Gavin, eager to test his new guns, saw Henry as the perfect target.
Tristan wanted Henry crippled, but Gavin aimed to kill. He believed killing Henry, a newcomer without a following, was no different from killing a dog. No one would care.
He planned to bag Henry's body and dump it in the Stardust River.
So, he insisted on dealing with Henry today.
Seeing Gavin's confidence, Tristan agreed and decided to extort Erick further, demanding another 3 million.
Gavin, wary of loose lips, only brought one brother to drive while he sat in the back, loading all three guns.
Tristan had warned him about Henry's skills, noting how the fighters had failed.
Gavin planned to kill Henry cleanly but missed his shots. Most people would flee when shot at, but Henry dodged and charged the car, startling Gavin.
He had the driver speed away while firing two more shots, both missing.
Thinking Henry didn't know who attacked him, Gavin and Tristan were planning their next move when Henry showed up.
Gavin admitted, "Tristan, it's embarrassing, but it was my first time shooting at someone. I panicked and lost my aim. But this guy isn't afraid of death!"
"Do you have confidence now?"
"He's alone. I'll bring more men and give the other two guns to two brothers. We'll approach him and fire simultaneously, giving him no chance. I don't believe we can't take him out!"
Tristan said, "He mentioned Erick, but he might only suspect we sent the attackers. He might not be sure. No one knows you have three guns. Let's find a way to lure him out in the next couple of days and ambush him. That way, our chances are better."
Gavin agreed, "This time, we'll aim to kill, not just cripple."
Tristan nodded, "Absolutely. This guy is too dangerous!"
