Chapter 33 That Person, So Familiar
Emily, however, was different. She was caught in a deep conflict, both hoping for Henry to come and fearing the danger his arrival might bring.
Her only hope was that Henry, upon seeing the note and realizing she and Andrew hadn't returned for half a day, would immediately call the police.
But at this moment, Henry unexpectedly got entangled with Isabelle.
Originally, Henry was supposed to go to the Violet Bar, but in the unfinished villa area, he once again beat up Erick and his gang, even making Erick betray Jason. It seemed that Erick was completely defeated, so there was no need to go there anymore.
Now, what Henry needed to consider was how to deal with Jason.
One way was to directly confront Jason in his office, make things clear, and then give him a beating, ensuring he would never have any improper thoughts about Emily again.
Suddenly, in Henry's mind, Avery's exquisite figure and noble grace appeared.
He thought that if he could fight fire with fire and give Jason a taste of his own medicine, it would not only be another way but probably the best way.
Emily had given Henry endless imagination.
But because of Andrew, this kind of imagination should never become reality.
And Avery, who was equally beautiful and about the same age as Emily, undoubtedly became the best substitute.
Thinking of this, Henry felt a sense of unprecedented relaxation and cheerfulness.
Strolling on the streets as the lights came on, he suddenly felt that the night view of Harbor Springs, this southern city, was incredibly beautiful.
If he could live in this city for the rest of his life, he would have no regrets.
Moreover, he had a deep connection with this city.
His biological parents were both in this city, and they should be very wealthy.
His foster mother had told him that his mother was a very beautiful socialite, and he wasn't picked up from the trash can by his foster mother; his mother had personally handed him over to her.
At that time, she even gave his foster mother twenty thousand dollars, but with one condition: to leave Harbor Springs with the child and never return.
After his foster mother left with him, she quickly turned back to follow his mother, only to see her getting into a red car.
His foster mother noted down the license plate number: Federal A9.
Even if someone had this license plate, they might not be the richest person in Harbor Springs, but they would definitely be one of the wealthiest, right?
His foster parents had originally planned to use the twenty thousand dollars for Henry. If he lived well, that would be fine, but if not, his foster mother hoped that he would be able to find his biological parents in the future.
Later, all this money was used for his foster father's medical treatment.
When the money ran out, his foster father also passed away.
After Henry was sentenced to prison, his foster mother told him about the license plate because she was worried that he wouldn't serve his sentence properly in prison and that he would lose confidence in the future after being released.
She also instructed him that if he ever got out of prison, he should try to find his biological parents.
Who would have known that a few days later, there was an earthquake in the village, and his foster mother died in a mudslide. Henry had no way of finding out more information about his biological parents.
Just then, a red sports car whizzed past Henry.
He casually glanced at the license plate and was shocked: Federal A9?
After a brief moment of blankness, Henry suddenly sprinted after the car.
Not far ahead was an intersection with the yellow light flashing, which was why the sports car had accelerated.
By the time Henry reached the intersection, the oncoming traffic had already blocked his way.
And the red sports car had gradually disappeared at the end of the road.
Disappointed, Henry was also a little puzzled.
The car was a red sports car, and the license plate was Federal A9. The question was, how could this car still look brand new after 24 years?
Even if the owner took great care of it, it wouldn't be in such pristine condition, right?
And if it was his own mother driving, would a woman in her fifties drive so recklessly after 24 years?
His foster mother had said that his biological mother looked like she was in her early thirties back then.
In any case, this at least gave Henry some hope.
Before this, Henry had always thought that his foster mother was a rural person and that her memories about his mother and the car might not be accurate.
But the fact was, the car had just appeared right in front of him!
Originally, in Harbor Springs, he only wanted to stand up for Andrew, but now it seemed that there was something even more important to do.
And with this conspicuous car, perhaps Andrew or Emily knew something about the owner.
With that in mind, Henry turned around and prepared to walk back when suddenly he heard a woman's voice shouting "help" from a small alley next to the intersection.
Henry ran over swiftly and in the dim light, he saw the backs of three men facing a woman.
The woman was lying on the ground, her arms pinned down by two of the men, while the other covered her mouth.
The man in the middle was unbuckling his belt.
Damn it! What kind of lawlessness is this happening in broad daylight?
"Haha, baby, you're wild and spicy, just the way I like it!"
Just as the man who had unfastened his belt was about to pounce, he felt a sudden strong impact on his buttocks, sending him flying forward like a toad.
Because he was bending down to prepare for the assault, he landed face-first.
With a loud smack, he had a miserable fall, and half of his face was scraping against the ground.
After a brief moment of numbness, the excruciating pain from his fractured tailbone and the burning sensation on his face made him wish for death.
His two companions were momentarily stunned.
Damn it, weren't they about to get things done? How did they end up so far away in an instant?
When they turned back around, Henry was already standing silently in front of them.
"Ah!"
Before they could react, Henry kicked both of them, sending them flying!
When he looked down, he realized that the person lying on the ground was Isabelle, reeking of alcohol.
The sanitary napkin that had been pulled off was lying next to her leg, appearing dark brown in the dim light.
Isabelle had been struggling desperately, already in a state of despair, when suddenly she felt her whole body relax as the person who had been restraining her disappeared.
The person who had been unfastening his belt with a sinister smile had now transformed into Henry.
Isabelle was a bit dazed and blurted out, "Is it you?"
