Chapter 75: Erick Is Not Simple

Henry wasn't worried about other matters, but he couldn't accept Andrew and Emily, especially Emily, losing their jobs because of him.
And it was clear Ruby had the capability.
He also wanted to know why Ruby helped him get out of prison three months early.
"Okay," Henry said, "I agree."
Ruby nodded, "Erick has made a lot of money over the years. If you need money, ask him. Although Jason is my classmate and I know Victoria, who used to be close to Erick, I won't interfere with your matters with them."
"Agreed."
"Also," Ruby said, "I'm in a luxury suite at the Harbor Springs Hotel. After you're done there, come see me, no matter how late. Remember my number and call me when you arrive."
Ruby gave Henry her number.
Thinking of Emily and Isabelle waiting at the hospital and needing to bring them over, he told Ruby he'd come tomorrow.
Ruby nodded, "Come before tomorrow night. I must return to the federation then."
Henry handed the phone and earphones back to Erick.
Erick asked expectantly, "Brother, what did my aunt say?"
Henry looked at Erick, noticing no resemblance between them.
Ruby could pass as Erick's sister, even his younger sister or wife, but not his aunt.
Henry said expressionlessly, "She asked me not to harm you. I agreed."
Erick sighed in relief, "Thank you, brother, thank you."
"Don't call me brother. I won't harm you, but we need to settle accounts."
"No problem, name your price. I, Erick, won't blink."
He knew Henry had asked Charles for 900,000 and 10% of the bar's shares. How much could he ask for, same as Charles?
Henry glanced at Victoria, who shivered and pleaded, "If you need money, name your price. You won't be short a penny."
Henry didn't respond but called Isabelle, telling her to bring Emily to Erick's office at the Violet Bar.
Isabelle, hearing Henry's voice, was both shocked and delighted, "Damn, you little brat, I called you a hundred times... Hey, hey, damn, you dare hang up on me?"
Isabelle turned off her phone, grabbed Emily's hand, "Henry's at the bar. Let's go now!"
Emily jumped up from the hospital bed and followed Isabelle out.
Andrew, startled, asked timidly, "Shouldn't I stay?"
Emily glared at him, not intending to respond.
"Andrew, what do you mean?" Isabelle asked, "If something happens, we can help or call the police. What do you mean by staying?"
Andrew, embarrassed, explained, "I think the call is suspicious. Could it be like last time..."
Before he finished, Emily pulled Isabelle, "Let's go!"
Andrew, seeing this, reluctantly followed.
The Violet Bar had given Andrew a psychological shadow. If not for Emily and Isabelle, he would never step into it again.
After hanging up, Henry saw a safe by the desk and asked, "What's inside?"
Erick quickly said, "Money, cards, everything. How much do you need?"
Henry walked to the desk, noticing a slanted photo frame. He tilted his head and saw a heroic woman.
The photo was a half-side profile, not noticeable at first, but it was a female soldier.
The woman was too fair and beautiful, looking like a star's still or a model's uniform photo.
Henry guessed it was Erick's fiancée, not knowing she was Bryan's sister, Ella.
If things worked out, Victoria and Erick would be family. Victoria would be Erick's brother-in-law's wife, making Erick Bryan's brother-in-law too.
How chaotic!
Henry asked Erick, "Is this your fiancée's photo?"
Erick awkwardly smiled, "Yes, yes, she's in the district police SWAT team, recently retired."
Henry changed the topic, "Open the safe."
"Okay, okay!"
Erick's eyes flashed with cunning as he got up and opened the safe, then turned to Henry, "Yen, dollars, euros, gold bars, and cards. What do you need, and how much?"
Henry coldly said, "Kneel back there!"
Erick thought giving money would settle things, but Henry still made him kneel by Victoria. Though nodding, he knelt with a grievance.
The desk blocked the view, so Victoria couldn't see the safe but heard Erick say it had everything. Now, Erick knelt back, and she worried Henry might take everything.
Victoria looked at Erick, not daring to ask but expressing her concern.
Erick smirked, fearing Henry wouldn't take the money.
The office had surveillance. If Henry took money, Erick could accuse him of coercion and robbery.
Any money or card Henry took would be evidence!
Erick had planned this, telling Ruby to give Henry any amount if unharmed.
But he didn't tell Ruby about using the video to frame Henry.
