Chapter 106: Doubts blooming
Logan
"Can you tell me what the hell happened, beta?" I ask angrily to the one who was supposed to be my friend since we were born. I remembered how happy our parents were that the triplets would be accompanied by two loyal betas. And now I didn't know if they were loyal, too loyal, or what to make of them.
"It was an accident," the blonde said as if nothing had happened, and I grabbed him by his collar, but he didn't flinch. What´s happening with this fucking pack! Everybody ir leaving me! I supposed to be the leader, the alpha, but I don't rule a shit!
"Don't take me for a fool, Lionel! It's obvious you and your brother are up to something. You let my brothers escape and now you're telling me you had nothing to do with it! I need their support and you know it! Also, the pack is in danger with use separated!" I yell and let him go. I've never fought any of the Golden Boys before because I've never had a reason to. they were good men. Until these damn days.
"Alpha, with all due respect, I already told you what happened: there was an attack on the pack and I received a message from Alpha Dominic that we needed help. I was just doing my job. I went to get him, and he also asked me to talk to Kurt, to bring him," the blonde explains, and my anger grows.
"What attack? Nothing happened! Besides, why should my brother Dominic give orders when I'm the Alpha here?" I snap, full of rage.
"I tried to contact you, Alpha, but you didn't respond," Lionel says, and obviously he was right. I had been somewhat... missing, you might say. My brother's claims had affected me deeply, and I had investigated the Council and the rite. The clues pointed to Gerard, but I couldn't find him anywhere.
"As for the attack, it seems to have been an accident. We couldn't have foreseen anything. We should have been on high alert," the young man continued. Considering that my uncle wasn't doing his job either, I had to admit that Lionel had done well.
"Then explain to me why my brothers ran away, because that's what they did. They're nowhere to be found," I ask him. But he remains silent. "Speak, Lionel..." I order him.
"It's just that... what I saw...when he contacted me, I was checking on Kurt he was in a bad shape and…" Now he seems nervous for the first time since this conversation started.
"Spit it out! Damn!"
"Alpha Dominic… was… was… with Irina," he finally says, and I'm shocked. This was not what I had imagined.
"What? What do you mean? What were they doing?"
"Well... they were in an intimate situation, you might say." The worst part is that I don't even think he's lying, because he's too ashamed to look me in the eye, the boy is red as a tomato.
Irina and Dominic? What the fuck?
"What did you see? Tell me! Did she… seduce him? or was it the other way around, what did you see?" I ask, remembering Irina shamelessly showing off her body in our room, her legs wide open exposing her pussy, she didn't want to dress; and my brother didn't seem happy at all. I didn't want to believe it was true, but...
"She wants all Three Dragons, obviously" my wolf adds bitterly.
"She was naked and trying to ride him… and the alpha seemed to be drugged with wolfsbane, and she insisted to... you know..."
Damn it! My wolf howls in my head, giving me a lecture while I try to clear my mind.
"Wait, wait, wait…how do I know that what you're saying is true, beta? How do I know this isn't just another trick? It seems like everyone is trying to turn me against Irina, and I have no proof that she's against me." I demand, maybe I'm a fool, but I need proves to believe. The beta hesitates and opens his mouth several times, but says nothing.
"Damn it, speak!" I order him.
"She was naked...completely," he finally confessed. "Shaved all over... and right on her private parts, she has a mole... right there. She was sitting in his lap and I saw it... her... lady parts..." he adds, shaking his head, mortified, he has his mate, the other human girl who drove him crazy from the first moment he saw her.
I can't believe it. Wolves are often naked when they shift, but such a specific description in this situation...
"Do you need more proof? She obviously has the mole, stupid man!" My wolf seems to enjoy telling me, "I told you so." I feel so... foolish, cheated, I've been treated like a clown. I want to destroy everything in my path.
"Get out, Lionel! And don't mention this to anyone, understand?"
I don't have to repeat myself; he quickly leaves my office. Irina would deny everything, of course, but the proof was there. What Dominic had told me seemed to be true: she wasn't on my side, she wants all of us. I had been used like a fool, and maybe my brothers weren't against me either. And worst of all... the human girl was really in danger. I had put her in danger.
I have no choice but to find out if what my brother and the Beta say is true. Irina seemed to have disappeared to avoid being questioned about my brothers' escape. Was she stupid enough to think that I would let something like that go? That she would fuck my brother... and I'll be fine. She was completely insane!. She was mine, only mine! I won't share any woman, that was the deal! So that night I followed her until she left the pack.
"If you don't find my uncle and something happens, talk to Lionel directly. He's in charge," I growl as I say goodbye to the warriors at the border. I follow her, and she circles around until she reaches the forest beyond the pack lands, but I lose her trail. In the distance, however, I see someone else... someone I thought was lost.
My uncle. What is he doing out here alone? Where is he going? I just followed Irina and he shows up? Too many coincidences. Too many surprises in this pack.
"This is not going to end well," Morgan, my wolf, warns me as we prepare to follow him. To my astonishment, I see him further ahead meeting with the council members, they greet each other, and suddenly I hear them say among themselves,
"The girl has passed the rite, we need to destroy her," and I'm in shock.
