Chapter 163: Your subject
Logan
"What you're saying is terrible," Dominic says.
"We always knew the Night Wolves had humans, and for all we know Maddie's father faced them a long time ago" Kurt explained.
"Maybe they did it to scare the humans or to show their strength. The problem is that now they have something they can use against us. That made our mate nervous, but also hopeful. We haven't even told her mother because we don't want to give her false hope," I say, and my brother nods.
"We have known about these problems for a long time; we should have talked to the other packs and intervened. We were too focused on our own problems. And now the Goddess is making us pay by smacking us in the face where it hurts the most," Kurt exclaims, covering his face in fear.
"We have to deal with both possibilities. And for now it's good news that a large part of the humans have come to their senses and won't give in to the blackmail of the Night Wolves. Mark seems like a decent man, and we could use the network of contacts he mentioned," Dominic adds.
"They'll help us get through the ceremony. It has to be perfect for our mate; she has to feel safe and know that everyone she loves is by her side," I add. But as I'm about to leave, Dominic stops me.
"Logan, this is your last night before the ceremony. It's your last chance to be with Maddie. We need her to be confident, calm and comfortable with all three of us." Tomorrow... is the night
"I know, and I have something planned. We'll do whatever she wants. If she's not comfortable enough during our first night together... we can find a way to mark her, the three of us, without..." I don't finish the sentence - without actually being with her... physically. My brother nods, and I know he trusts me, despite all the mistakes I've made. If she doesn't want me, or doesn't feel comfortable... I will wait. We can find the way to mark her.
"It's you and me again," she says with a smile when she sees we're alone in our room. We'd been sleeping together for days, all four of us, and it was the best sleep I'd ever had. She even reached out to me and wanted to sleep next to me in the bed.
"The mate bond is working... if only you hadn't been so stubborn," Morgan growled. I could feel the bond getting stronger, as we are with her.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to steal you away for the evening," I ask, and she seems pleased. It was obvious she had understood our unspoken agreement - that my brothers would let me spend time with her, a way of making up for lost time. But I knew that wasn't possible. That time is lost forever, and regretting it was part of my punishment.
"I love it" she replied, and I took her hand as we walked through the pack, watching the preparations with curiosity. The twins were busy with everything, helped by Robin's parents and Maddie's mother. And from the looks of it, it was going to be spectacular.
"A great ceremony for a great Luna. Moonvalley hasn't had a real Luna for years. Vera wasn't very attentive to her duties, even though she made us believe she was. Now I understand why, and I don't blame her," I whisper as we walk hand in hand.
"Are you taking me to one of your special places?" she asks. She's wearing a white dress and looks beautiful, like a goddess.
"The most special," I reply, taking her to the clearing beyond the river, open in the forest where the moon seems to shine brightest. "The wolves come here after the mating ceremonies; they spend the night feeling free and wild". But instead of the place being filled with wolves as usual, a small picnic has been prepared.
She sits happily on the cushions, and we start to eat a small, light supper. I know she's nervous, about what's happening to her brother, about the possibility that her father is alive and captured by the enemy... and also about what's going to happen tomorrow night. It wasn't just any event, and for a human it had to be at least terrifying. I wanted her to relax and think about other things.
We talk about our past without fear, about school, about the people we knew, and she even feels free to talk about how she fell in love with my brothers. The thought makes me happy.
"You know, I could hear what you were saying while I was recovering," I confess.
"Really?" she looks surprised.
"I heard you asking me to come back, that it was necessary for all us. Fr the strength of the Three Dragons to remain firm and united," I confirm, and she carefully moves closer to me.
"I couldn't stop looking at you... I dreamed of those beautiful, mysterious blue eyes looking at me, responding to me," she says, taking my breath away. I grab her by the waist and pull her onto my lap, and she caresses my face and hair. I can hardly breathe.
She wants me close, she's okay with all this, and I couldn't be happier. My body responds to her touch, my heart longs for her, my hands touch her and the erection I have is tremendous. To feel her body so close, her center... is a terrible temptation.
"I am yours, Maddie... from now until eternity. I want to be your servant, your subject. I want you to do whatever you want with me, to know that I'm here for you and that I'll never leave you. I will protect you and fight for you and do everything to make you happy until my last breath. And that day will come when you leave this world, Madeleine," I murmur, and she sighs with emotion and leans in to kiss me.
She kisses me because she wants to, not because I'm forcing her. She presses against me with pleasure, searching my body. I feel her chest close to mine, her curves begging to be touched, and I know this is the best night of my life. At least for now.
