Chapter 152: Three Streams
Robin
From the moment we arrived in Three Streams, I noticed something strange. There's an eerie silence, and people are looking out of the few windows that are lit, only to hide as soon as they see us. I ran towards my parents' house, followed by my mates.
"My little girl!" My father hugs me and gives my mates a disapproving look.
"They're coming with me... What's going on?" I whisper, and he motions for us to come inside. The twins look huge in our small house, but somehow everything feels right. My mother rushes into my arms and hugs the twins.
"Some wolves have come... they've been trying to talk to us, and the townspeople seem to be making some kind of deal."
"What kind of deal?" I ask, alarmed.
"We don't know exactly. They've kept us out of the loop," my father replies. I notice the wrinkles in his face and I worry; time has passed, and I haven't been here. I feel like I've let them down.
"Why didn't you tell me? I know I wasn't there, but you could have contacted us," I say, watching my mother swallow hard.
"We didn't want to put you in danger, my baby" my father says, and I don't understand. They are the ones in danger! Everyone here!
"I understand why they didn't contact you, Robin..." Liam whispers. "The others must know that you and your parents are connected to us."
"The townspeople knew we didn't agree with them, and we didn't want to make it more obvious where our support lay. To them, we're the family allied with the Wolves of Moonvalley," my mother explained.
"Bastards!" Lionel shouts.
"What about Maddie's family?" I ask, and they shake their heads.
"Mark has been missing, and I'm afraid he's fallen into bad ways. We haven't seen Maddie's mother for a long time. She's gone into hiding; she's lost her business" my mother says sadly. I covered my face. Everything is going so, so wrong.
"We have to get you out of here. There's a great danger coming, and we were hoping you could help us get the townspeople out," Liam pleads.
"I don't know..." my father hesitates.
"We've got to try," I insist, and we start making a list of people we can talk to. We split up: my parents, Dominic, the warriors and the twins, and started talking to the neighbors. Some welcome us well, but others slam the door in our faces. I sighed - this is harder than I thought.
"We will get through this, little goddess. We're not leaving without knowing that everyone is safe," Lionel hugs me. Something strange is happening. Dominic looks worried, and indeed Maddie's house looks almost deserted. As we approach, we hear a loud noise.
"What the hell is that?" my dad asks as wolves appear out of nowhere.
"An attack!" Lionel shouts, standing in front of my parents and me. I pull out my gun, ready it and start firing as my parents scream.
"For God's sake!"
"Everyone, get to a safe house and call the neighbors! Warriors, group the humans into small groups, get them into the cars and take them away," Dominic shouts. I thought it would be a complicated task, but as soon as the wolves appeared, all the neighbors - the same people who had said no, who hadn't believed us, who had slammed doors in our faces - were now desperate to escape with us.
"This way, this way!" I clear the way as I shoot at the wolves. These wolves in particular seemed wild, rogues.
"Dad, keep everyone informed and have them call the others. I want you to be the first to get to the cars as soon as possible. You'll be safer with the pack," I said as I led them to the cars with the warriors. It didn't matter if they didn't take anything, they had to get out of here.
"I'm not leaving, my baby. At least not yet. You're so brave, I must help you," my father says, looking at me with pride, and my heart swells.
"Oh Daddy!! Ok... but stay close to me,' I say as I go from door to door. Out of nowhere I hear a scream from Maddie's house, and when I open the door I see a wolf on top of Dominic, he surely was checking this place. The house is empty, and I don't know what's happened. Maddie's mother is standing in the corner. Outside, I could hear the twins fighting; more and more wolves are invading the town.
"Robin..." she says, distraught.
"We're here, we'll get you out of here."
"Who is this?" she asks as we see a huge dark wolf fighting with Dominic. Behind him, a man approaches to finish him off. And I shot.
"What the hell?" Dominic yells as he finishes off the wolf. I look to see who the man is, now wounded and fleeing through the door.
"Arthur? It can't be!" Dominic whispers.
"I'm coming after him!" Liam appears running after Arthur.
"I don't hear my brother! Maddie!" Dominic shouts, realizing what has happened. Arthur must be the mole, and if he's here, the whole pack is in danger!
"It's a trap! We've got to get out of here!" he shouts, and now I'm determined to get my parents into the cars. Liam is back, Arthur has managed to escape.
"Liam, stay here. Lionel and Robin, find Kurt. We are ambushed, our enemies must be interfering with our mindlink."
As we're about to leave, taking some of the people into the cars and hiding the rest, we hear a terrible howling. Huge, deformed wolves are approaching the town.
