Chapter 161: Ceremony Plans
Maddie
"Are you sure, mate? You know we don't want to put any pressure on you," the triplets had said to me.
"I'm sure. I want to be the Luna of the pack, I want to help, and I want to be with you," I confirm over and over again as the preparations for the ceremony begin. There seems to be a red moon approaching, and for the wolves is a sign that something important is about to happen. Everyone says it's the best time for the big ceremony.
My mates are excited, and the pack treats me with kindness. Even my mother is organizing everything as if it were a wedding. I'm nervous, but I know I can't put it off any longer. They have to mark me to protect me and send a message to the rest of the wolves: they have accepted me. That way, under their power, the human territory will also come under their control.
Besides, of course I want this. I want to be with them. It's hard to balance the time I spend with each of them, but at least I'm trying to get to know Logan better. And I feel more and more connected to all three of them.
Kurt and Dominic have returned from an expedition, with particular concern, having confirmed that Irina is with Gerard. Every day they make plans to talk to more Alphas, and they are completely stressed out.
Robin has brought excellent news: some human towns are already on our side. She also mentioned the existence of a resistance that hopes to contact us soon. Not to mention that she's now pregnant! which has made us all incredibly happy.
"I am not surprised by this shameless woman. The other Alphas have fallen for her like idiots," Logan snarls in our meeting. Everyone is bitching about Irina, and Kurt is traumatized by what they saw. They didn't give me many details, but the blonde sleeps hugging me like a teddy bear, having nightmares about what they witnessed between Irina and Gerard.
"What worries me most is that his word now seems to be everything. He's won over a lot of packs, and although some of them have understood and supported us, they won't take us seriously until we present our Luna," Dominic explains, taking my hand.
"What if we invited them to the ceremony? It would be a great opportunity for the alphas to see that this is real and that the pack accepts me. Besides, it'll be under the red moon. Don't you think that would be a good move?" I suggest and they fall silent.
I'm sitting on Kurt's lap, who gives me a big hug.
"It's a brilliant idea! To be honest, we've been too distant from the other packs because our uncle was in charge of relations, but this is an excellent moment to reconnect!" Kurt says excitedly.
"That bastard tried to isolate us, but now no one can stop us!" Logan says.
"It's a great idea, mate. It's exactly what we need to do," Dominic agrees, looking at me devotedly.
"By the way, we still haven't heard from our uncle. All the missions we've sent out have come back with no answers," Kurt mentions as he kisses my neck. I'm surrounded by these Alphas, talking as if nothing is happening, while they kiss and touch me. I can't believe this is going to be my life. Our synergy and synchronicity is incredible. Suddenly I see a map on the table.
"This is where I used to live..." I notice that the place is marked.
"Yes, Robin received a message that we should investigate that area," Logan points out.
"You once told me it was an interesting place and that Gerard seemed to be drawn to it,"
"That's true. We haven't checked it out yet; it's supposed to be a neutral zone, but we could go," Logan says, and I take the opportunity.
"Please let me go with you. I promise not to do anything risky, and we'll go with little wolf" I say, thinking they'll refuse, but they finally agree.
"I'll stay here. Behave yourself," Dominic says and gives me a kiss. Kurt hugs me while Logan strokes my legs. I know they're waiting for the ceremony, but I swear I could have all three of them right here.
I'm happy to be out there, and as we get into the car, I see that we're going with a good group of warriors. Of course, my mates wouldn't let me go unprotected.
"It's all for your safety" Kurt says.
"Sit down here with me, mate," Logan says, patting his lap. I comply and hear him moan softly. I blush. His body is so strong, and he holds me passionately as we look at the landscape. I remember what used to be like and all that I've lost. I hope that one day there will be justice and I can reclaim what was once ours.
"Why are they so interested in this place?" I ask, stroking little wolf who's lying next to us.
"I don't know, mate, but at the time it was supposed to be a neutral zone. But of course they didn't keep to that part of the agreement," Kurt growls. "I remember the land was quite fertile, and it was a good point for trade."
"Yes, it has an excellent location," I point out. I start to see the empty, deserted streets and sigh as I remember my home. How I lived with my brother, my mother and my father. I touch the watch my father gave me and remember him. I've never forgotten him. What would he think of me now that I'm a Luna? Logan must have noticed my discomfort because he pulls me closer into his embrace and I sink into his arms.
"There's something here," one of the warriors points out, and my mates go into attack mode, putting me behind them. Little wolf jumps out and growls.
"Night Wolves?"
"I don't know. There's strange movement, like there's more people," Kurt says.
"Who are you? Show yourselves!" Logan demands. Suddenly we see some men appear. Some of them look familiar, like they are from the town, and then we hear a voice from behind.
"We are the Resistance, and I see you've received our message," a male voice says. I can't believe who's stepping forward.
"Mark?"
