Chapter 147: The Window
Maddie
I went to tell Dominic about the messages I'd received. I finally gather my courage after not being able to sleep... and I come across the sensual photos of Irina on his desk. I felt fear, jealousy and shame all at once. But what Dominic told me was terrible; I had never imagined anything like it. I felt his pain, his suffering.
I have to console him, assure him that I believe him, that I love him, that this woman won't succeed in coming between us. And I end up naked against his desk while he fucked me as pleasurably as wildly. Now he's carrying me to our room, covering my body with his arms so that no one can see me.
"Dominic..." I sigh.
"Shh, shh, relax, mate, rest," he whispers in my ear. My body aches, he held me so tight, my legs were shaking. My orgasm left me exhausted. Three orgasms to be precise. "Stay here," he whispers as he lays me down on the bed. Kurt is there, asleep, and when he feels me close, the blonde pulls me to him and embraces me possessively.
"Mate... your skin is so sweet," Kurt murmurs, holding me even tighter. I don't know where Dominic went, but he's not staying in bed. I want to talk to him about the messages, but I feel so warm and wrapped up in Kurt's skin that I fall into a delicious sleep.
The next morning, there's a lot of movement among the warriors. Even Kurt is no longer by my side. I get up, and went to the hall, and find everyone discussing.
"We can't put this off any longer," Robin demands.
"Our mate is right. The humans have begun to sense something strange. They don't have instincts like us, but they were alert. " Liam argues.
"We need to prepared and organize our forces; we need time. We've seen movement on the border..." Dominic explains.
"Alpha, with all due respect, humans have been suffering from werewolves for years. We don't have instincts, but we've learned to understand our surroundings. To sense when something's not quite right, and now the humans are feeling it," my friend explains.
"What's going on?" I ask suddenly, and everyone turns to look at me.
"Mate, we didn't want to wake you, you were exhausted," Dominic points out. I remember the intense session we had in his office and blush. But the subject is too important to dwell on how my mate fucked me so intensely just hours ago.
"I need to know what's going on," I insist, I have the strange feeling that they don't want to tell me. These wolves are eager to protect me.
"There's movement in Three Streams. It seems they're organizing, and that worries us. I went there myself this morning, Kurt saw it yesterday too," says Dominic.
"Then we have to go to town" I announce.
"That's what I've been trying to say, but the Alphas think we need more time to prepare. They're afraid it might be a trap," Robin explains.
Robin's plan to find out about my messages was to go to the town and ask my brother Mark and Kevin if they hear something. She was also trying to steal information from the twins. Meanwhile, I had to keep an eye on the pack. I trusted Little Wolf... even though he had disappeared. My mates want to help the humans, but they don't want to rush into things.
"Please, I've let the town down so much, I haven't gone back to see them. Control of the human towns and their territories is the key to the coming war. I have to go. I could talk to them and they would listen. We could convince them,” I suggest.
"No way!"
"It's too dangerous!"
"But the people would listen to me!" I insist.
"I can go! I'm sure my parents would help me convince the others," Robin offers, signalling me to stay calm. I want to do something, not sit here like a fool.
"We'll be with our mate every moment, nothing will happen," Lionel and Liam say proudly. I don't know whether to be happy or angry that everyone is so willing to sacrifice for me. No matter what I say, they are firm. And once again I'd been left behind in the pack.
"Kurt will stay in the middle to ensure the safety of the pack. I'll go with Robin and the Golden Boys. Matt and Arthur will take care of internal security," Dominic says. "I'm really sorry, mate, but it's what's best for everyone, especially you," he adds, giving me a kiss as I sigh.
"We'll monitor the area. Please don't leave the room, Luna," Matt asks, and I find myself back in Logan's room. He has hardly improved. I sigh, wondering when things will get back to normal. Maybe my normal is sharing my life with three wonderful men. Three men I used to hate, but now I can't imagine my life without them.
"You know? I used to call you 'the Three assholes'," I say, taking Logan's hand, who still hasn't spoken or woken up. But deep down, I know they need to be together for us to get through this. For both wolves and humans to be safe and away from the clutches of the Council, Irina and the Night Wolves.
"We need you, Logan," I confess and hear him sigh. I wish he could hear me. Suddenly I hear a noise at the window and move, hoping it's a little wolf with news.
Again, I hadn't had a chance to tell my mates about the messages. I've decided that when they get back, I'm going to have a serious talk with them. No matter what happens, no matter the danger, or if they both seduce me, I will stop and tell them the truth. Robin told me to do it as soon as possible.
As I approach the window, I notice it's open. As I lean out, I sense someone covering my mouth from behind, and everything goes black.
