Chapter 156: Strategies

Dominic
We narrowly escaped. The enemy's strength was brutal, and if it hadn't been for Logan's arrival, I'm not sure what our future would have been. We have several warriors, the two betas, and even the little wolf fought bravely. But it was only when the combined might of the Three Dragons appeared, that Gerard found himself in real danger.
"He must have felt our power, he must have realized that he couldn't defeat us," my wolf insists, and it's true. Even if it is to our advantage now, I know that the filthy Alpha will do everything in his power to defeat us. It's only a matter of time. He also made a direct threat against our mate, and we still don't know what to do.
When we arrive at our pack, we see that Robin has set up tents all over the place to house the humans. They're already working with our warriors. The unity between all us is possible; it's becoming more clear with each passing moment.
"We must find a solution. This threat is no ordinary one," Logan says, shaking. In his arms is our mate, who seems to be in shock. I am proud of my brother for coming to his senses and of Maddie for facing the danger. She was so brave.
"Logan is right. All wolves, no matter what happens, if the Council calls us, we cannot refuse. It would mean disaster," Kurt says. We signal Logan to let our mate rest, but she refuses immediately.
"No, please, I need to be here. I need to know what's going to happen," she pleads.
"All right, we must have a meeting soon. Call all the warriors and the human representatives. This is everyone's business," I say, and that night we are all gathered in our office. Now I hold Maddie in my arms. The bond relaxes her and us. By heaven, I cannot live without her.
"It is clear that the people from the town and the surrounding area understand the danger they are in and are willing to cooperate. They're afraid, very afraid, of what's happening. And even worse, of what could happen if the wolves' threats come true," Robin exclaims. Maddie's mother is also there, along with some village representatives who want to get involved.
"We can go to other villages and talk about what's happening, convince them that the danger will only get worse. They must stop the deals or trust these wolves," says one human.
"You offered the women, us, in those dirty deals" Maddie snaps. She talked about the encounter with Kevin; that man is in the top five people we need to kill immediately.
"We didn't support the idea, but we know some of our own did. And, I have to admit that we did nothing to stop them. All we thought about was protecting our wives, mothers, daughters and sisters," the man says, ashamed.
"I can go with my mates. It's our duty to visit and confront several towns," adds Robin.
"I have to go. There must be a way," Maddie says, but I stop her immediately.
"Maddie, the threat Gerard made was very real, and he's looking for any way to claim that you're on the run or that you won't show up. We still have to think about how this trip to the Council is going to go. We have to be very careful about that. In the meantime, you cannot leave the pack. At least not without extreme security" She sighs, but doesn't argue. I don't know if it's because she's tired or because she agrees.
"Dominic is right. Besides, other packs might be interested in taking you. Our next step must be to contact the other alphas and show them the true intentions of the Night Wolves and the Council."
"What other intentions?" Maddie's mother asks.
"They sold the idea that they could provide more mates, and the wolves desperately want that. But what they really want is to manipulate other packs and take over more territory. I have no doubt that they plan to enslave the humans and take control of both the werewolf and human worlds," Logan explains.
"For God's sake," she exclaims in horror.
"But we won't let them. I know the wolves haven't behaved well, but if we talk to them, they might change their minds. They're just desperate," Kurt says. I know it's going to be a difficult task because the wolves are stubborn and overwhelmed by the lack of mates.
"That is true. We also have some spies and information. It's a good time to contact Rowan again," I say. So it's all set: we'll talk to the humans on the one hand, and we'll have to talk to the packs on the other. Our success will depend on the negotiating skills of each emissary we send, and I pray they will be up to the task.
But when we finally lie down with our mate, my brothers and I can't sleep, let alone enjoy her presence. Logan has accepted her, but that's not all. She also seems ready to forgive him, and this moment is crucial.
"We have to talk to her. I know it's unfair, but... you felt the strength we fought with in the town, when Logan arrived. Because he truly accepted her" I say through the mind link.
"Was amazing. we couldn't defeat them all because Logan was still injured and recovering," Kurt says. Logan looks very worried, and I know he's aware that everything that's happened is his fault. He still looks tired and needs to rest. We've delayed this moment because of his stubbornness. But there's no point in blaming anyone now. It's time to look for solutions.
"A red moon is approaching, it's time. We have to do the ceremony and present her as Luna," Kurt says.
"And mark her as soon as possible," I conclude.
