Chapter 44: We have no other choice
Maddie
We fought, we tried to escape, but it was useless, of course, because those who had found us were wolves. It was getting easier for me to tell who they were. A tall bald man grabbed me and hit me, I fell, hitting the ground hard. The worst part was that I hurt my ankle.
And then he appeared.
Gerard... this was the supposed Alpha that my mates hated. They had dragged us out of the empty factory, and now we were in another warehouse in the middle of nowhere. If you were making a horror movie, this would be the best place, the one where the audience knew for sure that the characters would not survive.
The Alpha was huge, with very short dark hair and brown eyes. He was terrifying to look at, with a beard and a fierce demeanor. The men with him looked equally fierce, not like the triplets, or at least I didn't see them that way now. My mates... I definitely missed them now.
The man entered the room, watched us with a sinister smile, and began to speak.
"Finally, I have you where I want you. A couple of simple humans, I didn't think it would be so easy to catch you. All you had to do was leave the protection of those three idiots... and here you are," he said, crouching down to get a better look at us. He moved a strand of my hair, making me shiver.
"What do you want from us?"they laugh.
"Such an arrogant little human! You think you're a Luna already? What do we want from you? We want many things, and you'd better not start giving us ideas..." he said as one of his men put his hand on Robin's leg, and she shook it off.
"Leave us alone!"
"Or what? What are you going to do to us? I doubt your dear mates will or can rescue you, after all you walked right into our trap like little lambs, don't you? And when they realize what I'm planning, they'll wish I'd killed you now."
"Do you want them? Use us as bait? Because they won't fall for it," I said, and Gerard moved so fast I didn't see him. In seconds, he had me by the throat with one hand, and I panic.
"Well, you would make nice bait...I'll give you that...but that's not decided yet. I vote to finish you off now and kill your mates with grief," the Alpha said, and they laughed again.
"Let us enjoy them a little, Alpha! The one with long hair is beautiful," they said, looking at Robin.
"Let her be our prize!" another shouted, and they continued to shout and howl. I felt my blood freeze, he let me go and I gasp. Our hands were tied, we were kneeling on the ground at their mercy.
"We'll see! We'll see, you guys! I didn't believe that humans could be mates with werewolves, but now we know it's possible, and so there will be no shortage of women... we can behave like humans men who have two or three bitches at a time," Gerard shouted, they looked wild.
Robin looked at me in horror, her eyes told me what I was thinking: we had to get out of here or get help. But how? I checked the area; there were some windows, some tables, metal desks and chairs, documents, papers, something abandoned, nothing else. I didn't think I could run.
"But not with these, gentlemen... these are ordinary women, no doubt used by the twins and triplets. Is that what you want? To be with traitors who have fraternized and fuck with the enemy? I'm sure they've already mated with them, even though there are no marks on their fine little necks," the Alpha hissed, and there were growls and boos. I didn't need any more proof to know that this was the worst man and Alpha I had ever known and would ever know.
"We will take revenge!"
"We will finish off those stupid Moonvalley Wolves!" they shouted like mad now.
"Say goodbye to your sad lives... beauties," Gerard whispered, biting his lip.
"This man is not going to kill us, or maybe he will, after taking advantage of us," Robin whispered to me as they left us alone and our captors discussed their plans. How did we get into their hands? It was a disaster!
"I fear the same, the only way out is for you to ask for help."
"Me?" she was terrified.
"Yes, girl! You're in better shape, you have to tell Mark, ask in town for help, they're the closest, we have to keep running," and I saw in her eyes that she hoped the twins would come back for her.
"But..."
"I don't know if they'll come, and if they do, what do you think they'll do to us? We ran and fell from bad to worse," I said, and she seemed hopeless.
"We're screw" she sighed, overwhelmed.
"Not yet, Mark and Kevin can help us, try to get free while I make a scene."
"But Maddie..." I didn't know if I was being crazy or panicking.
"Please, Robin, I'll do anything to get at least one of us free,"
I feel that they hadn't tied us very tightly since we were humans, and to them, we were weak things. Until I remembered something.
"In my pocket..." she moved onto her back and the knife fell to the ground.
"This is genius!" she started slowly cutting the ropes, while I moved to listen more closely to the wolves gathered in what seemed to be another room. Again, they spoke as if we were deaf.
"The plan is in motion, the Three stupid Dragons will be weakened, and we will gain power in the council. Many packs already support us, and my father can help us," it was Gerard.
"And the packs will be happy with the load of women we have found! They are so desperate that they will be happy with these foolish humans!" said another, and they laughed again.
"The wolves just want to mate and mark them, hoping to have heirs, more wolves, and a bigger pack!" another shouted.
"I just want to take revenge on the triplets, I especially hate the blond one," growled another, and I thought it was the giant bald one who had grabbed me.
"You will have your revenge, Mafia, we all will. We will be known as the heroes of our species! The ones who solved the problem of the lack of female mates! We will no longer be slaves to the she-wolves,"
With a subtle sound, I became aware that Robin had managed to free herself and was coming towards me.
"These wolves are terrible, Maddie, you're right... we have to alert the humans, but I can't leave you, I just can't..." she whispered in panic.
"Go... you're the only hope," I told her and tears filled my eyes, hers as well.
"I love you, Maddie," she said and hugged me. My ropes were loose, this was going to work.
"And I love you, tell my family I love them," I whispered, and I saw her run, her legs shaking. There was a window she climbed through and she was already outside.
Now came my part, I stood up and threw a chair at the opposite window to distract them from where Robin had escaped. The wolves were in front of me in seconds, snarling and searching for Robin as I limped along.
"Let's see if you can really handle a stupid human like you say," I challenged them, knife in hand, ready to die.
