Chapter 52: Deals with the enemy

"We had a deal!"
"And I kept it! I gave you information about my pack, developments, and data. You've discovered a lot! Without me, you wouldn't have been able to advance at all!" Mafia yells at me while I have him pinned to the wall by his neck. Stupid Wolf!
"You promised me not to mess with her! And what do I find out? That she was kidnapped! Beaten almost to death! She's a human, for goodness sake!" I scream desperately.
I had to find answers; she was lost and I went to the source of the problem. I got the message that she was found, but now we're in big trouble.
"That is your problem! Having a weak human mate is unnatural, it's not for wolves, and especially not for alphas. My pack did what they thought was necessary," the man says. He's quite large, but I punch him in the stomach, leaving him gasping and kneeling on the ground.
"Do you think I chose this? That's why I haven't accepted her, you idiot!" I yell, pacing back and forth. We used to meet in this place, outside a bar in the middle of the crowd.
"And many of you get involved with human women! All the wolves do, hypocrite!" I yell, kicking an empty bottle, the sound echoing around us.
"Because we have no other choice, but my Alpha wouldn't be with a human," he replies, and I kick him again.
"Stupid Gerard, don't even mention him!"
"I have a deal with you that benefits both of us. I help you become the lone Alpha of Moonvalley, and you turn a blind eye to the problem of humans and human women," he says. Yes, I know it was a terrible deal, but an Alpha had to do what an Alpha had to do.
"Well, you're not helping me either, and you're digging your own grave," I growl.
"We shouldn't have gotten involved with them, our mate was in danger," my wolf Morgan whispers.
"We needed power and to keep an eye on what the night wolves were doing!" I answer.
"Tell me why you did this to her!" I yell, grabbing Mafia's neck again.
"She's a stupid human, and she'll be your undoing!" the man yells, kicking.
"Do you think I want her? I'll reject her, but I need her alive; she's my fated mate, damn it!" I scream frantically. I hear voices approaching and when I turn around, I can't believe it... it's Gerard.
"I knew that wolf would betray us," Morgan growls.
"Damn Alpha," I curse.
"It's good to see you again, Logan, even if you seem worried. Why is that? Did you lose a stupid human mate, maybe?" he asks, and the other wolves laugh with him. By the moon goddess, how I'd like to kill him right here and now.
"You... you know it's illegal to take another's mate," I growl, looking at him. He's accompanied by half a dozen warriors, motherfucker.
"It is illegal to take a marked and accepted mate... a she-wolf. There are no laws against taking a poor rejected human," Gerard says with satisfaction. It bothers me that I can't deny that he's an Alpha; he has a strong aura and is a huge man, but I could easily handle him, though I'm not sure about all of them.
"Test me," Morgan whispers.
"You're a piece of shit!" I yell.
"Maybe I am, but at least I don't have that weakness, a poor human bitch," he says smugly, stroking his beard.
"You know how she screamed when we hit her?"
"We could have snapped her like a twig," his men say, and I get furious.
"I'm going to kill you! I swear I'll kill you!" I scream.
"And you'll bring too much trouble to your already stupid and weak pack. Yes, years ago Moonvalley was a strong pack, but with a human Luna shared by three Alphas...? Boy... you won't survive” he says contemptuously, and what I hear are laughs, jeers and taunts. I can't take it.
Morgan takes control and I lunge at him, fighting. Several wolves kick me, and Gerard doesn't even transform; he lets his men beat me up. There are too many of them and I can't control them, and I have to recognize that I'm weak because of her… because we are apart, because she is suffering, I'm fucking doomed.
But they don't want to kill me... they want to humiliate me and leave me on the ground, panting, and I hear them laughing.
"Look at the Oh Alpha of Moonvalley! Weaker than a human! Did you miss her?" he shouts and claps, and everyone laughs.
"Leave him; why kill him? Just hurt his Luna. A human abandoned him! Abandoned his Alphas! What's worse than that? Maybe we'll kill her next time, or maybe I'll even mark her just for fun, after she's warmed my bed. She's not pretty, but I guess she'll serve some purpose," he says, and they leave me there, panting and angry.
"He can't talk about her like that! I swear, if he touches her, I'll tear him to pieces!" Morgan growls, but there's nothing we can do.
She left us, Gerard knew it, and everyone know she's a human... he's right, we're finished. My stupid brothers gave in to the bond and sealed our fate. And yet... I can't stop thinking about her, about what she must have suffered. She survived those men's attack. What the hell am I going to do?
I thought my day can't get any worse, but the one who finds me is Kurt, enraged.
"Not now, brother..."
"Not now? You're an asshole! Our mate is recovering, and it's your fault," he says angrily. Damn, the human must have talked.
"What she said is a lie..."
"You're done, Logan! We have proof, witnesses. I'll kick you out of the pack myself!" he says, and I stand up to face him. My wounds haven't healed yet, but I can take my brother down a thousand times. It seems I'm the only one who cares about the pack and our future.
"What is wrong with you? You dare to challenge me? You wouldn't have the guts! You're just a fool, the younger brother, the clown..." I say, but he hits me, knocking me to the ground.
"I'm going to kill you, Logan, I swear on our parent's grave. I'll finish you off without remorse if you hurt her again. But it won't be me who decides, we'll have a trial."
"A trial? What the fuck? Our uncle wouldn't allow it, the council..." This is impossible, such a thing has never been heard of! My brothers wouldn't allow it! My uncle wouldn't allow it!
"Our uncle gave me the green light, you'll pay, brother, you're finished"
