Chapter 179: Serving Justice
Logan
"What the human, Luna and the three dragons say is true. Alpha Oscar has been manipulating everything from the beginning. For years, his goal was to take the Alpha position and steal it from his nephews. I worked for him because I was bound and couldn't do anything else: Vera is his mate, his Luna, but she is also my mate. He has done everything to keep me from claiming her," Rowan added firmly.
"That's horrible," an Alpha shouted, horrified by what he had heard.
"It's an abomination!" The others approached to listen to what Rowan says.
"It's all lies, lies!" Oscar shouted as Dom held him down, preventing him from escaping. Anger burned in his eyes; his ambition and lust for power had consumed him.
"Oscar, dominated by his ambition and thirst for control, wanted to rule everything. He was sick with envy because he wasn't the Alpha, and he did everything he could to steal that power from his nephews. Since he had no children of his own, he thought of using human females to father offspring. He was desperate to have a male heir" Rowan explained.
"These are all malicious accusations! Vera was always weak and never deserved to be Luna! She can't even have a child!" Oscar howled. Vera trembled. And I saw Liam
He stepped forward, accompanied by others. He pointed to a human and added, "What Rowan says is true. Here is a witness, a man from a village Alpha Oscar visited. He has proof that his aunt was seduced by Oscar and then abandoned. He later sent others to kill her, after she deliver a child" Liam explained. The human, frightened but determined, confirmed the claims, and all the Alphas reacted with outrage.
"He deceived and manipulated us, and when Madeleine appeared, he changed his strategy. Everything he did was to gain power, and the Council supported him!" Kurt shouted.
"We are the Council; we have only helped those who deserve it. Without us, you would be nothing!" one of the Council members replied.
"We'll see about that, what Rowan and the human says are outrageous! Capture them!" Alpha Roger shouts as he ordered the Council members captured. The men screamed, struggled, but to no avail. They were dragged away, while the others alphas helped.
"And what about Oscar?" Maddie asked. All the Alphas looked at Oscar and Alpha Roger stepped forward and declared.
"As a victim of Oscar's manipulations, Rowan has the right to carry out this sentence." Oscar looked around, his eyes filling with impotent rage as he understood the verdict. "
"This is a farce! An injustice!" he shouted, but his words fell on deaf ears among the Alphas; his own actions had condemned him. "No! No! Help! Vera!" he shouted to our aunt, but she covered her mouth in fear. She did nothing to help him.
Rowan nodded solemnly and moved forward, his wolf beginning to take control, a fierce glint in his eyes. With each step, his body began to change. In front of him, Oscar retreated, unable to escape.
With a low growl, Rowan allowed the wolf to take full control. Oscar, finally aware of his helplessness, also transformed, baring his teeth in a final act of defiance and desperation. But his eyes betrayed fear; he knew his end was near.
The confrontation was short and brutal. Rowan, driven by the power of justice and the pain of years of betrayal, attacked mercilessly. The two wolves' bodies collided in a whirlwind of fangs and fur, but Oscar, weakened, could not resist. In a final blow, Rowan pinned him down, trapping him with his jaws around his neck.
In the distance, Vera watched the scene unfold. Her hands trembled, and her eyes filled with tears. Every cry of pain from Oscar echoed in her chest, but she knew this had to happen.
"Vera! Mate!" Oscar screamed, but he had broken all the bonds that had once held them together. Her muffled sobs melded with the silence that followed as Rowan, with a quick twist of his jaw, ended the traitor's life. Rowan, still in wolf form, turned to Vera, his gaze sad and filled with pity. But she did not look away and nodded. They were free at last.
Some of the Alphas bowed in respect, acknowledging the pain of this act and the justice that now lay here. The price of betrayal had cost a life, and though justice had been served, all felt the weight of a wound that only time could heal. We lost an uncle, but also an enemy.
"We regret all that has happened, Alphas. We will seek a way to repair the damage. We follow Gerard in desperation" said the Alphas who had been Gerard's allies. "We would rather keep the peace than continue this war."
"So be it," I said. It was all over.
"And now?" Madeleine asked as we hugged and kissed her, happy that she was safe.
"You were very brave, mate. You are a true Luna, our Luna. We have to rebuild the pack," Dominic said, but I remembered something else.
"There is something we have to do" they looked at me in confusion. But I insisted on going to the Night Wolves. I had won the fight with their Alpha, so they were mine by right. When they saw me arrive, they understood that it was all over and knelt before me. The pack was small and chaotic.
As we organized, some of the commanders tried to flee or fight. In the midst of the chaos, a thin, ragged man appeared; my mate cried and ran to him.
"Daddy! Daddy!" she cried, and the man embraced her in disbelief.
"My baby, my little Maddie!" he replied, moved. Gerard had known and kept him captive.
"Release all humans, your Alphas demand it," I ordered, while Maddie's father was still frightened.
"It's OK, Dad. Everything's going to be all right now. They're my mates, and they're not what we thought. Gerard and the Council are finished. Now humans and wolves will live in peace," she said. It took a while for the man to trust us, but finally things seemed to be moving forward. Soon after, Mark appeared, and even Maddie's mother, in shock. It was the most beautiful family reunion we had ever seen.
"Now that you have this pack, don't you want to keep it? You'd be the only Alpha," Dominic asked me, and I laughed.
"I'm more than happy with both of you. You're the best brothers a wolf could ask for, and as long as I'm with you and Maddie, we'll be fine." I watched the family, hoping that they could find happiness despite the stolen years. That they could even accept three stubborn and headstrong triplets. I looked at Maddie, still crying in her father's arms. She turned to me and said, right into my head:
"Thank you... thank you for everything." and I replied.
"I love you. I've always loved you"
