Chapter 81: A false Luna

"Have you completely lost your mind?" I shouted in front of the whole pack.
My brother had frightened our mate, turned against us and broken the deep bond we had as triplets - the three dragons who acted as one and became famous throughout wolf history. As if that wasn't enough, now he was determined to humiliate Maddie.
The twins had vowed to protect and love their beautiful mate, and they were deeply moved. They had a beautiful ceremony and should be together with Robin, in their room, living their happily ever after.
But now… our betas were now holding me by the arms to stop me from tearing my older brother's head off, and also to stop the she-wolf standing next to him, who looked like she was the queen of the place. Who does she think she is? Damn Irina! Always wanting to be Luna, her fucking dream come true!
"Do you really dare choose another woman over the mate the Moon Goddess gave you, the one who gave us our wolves and our pack?" I yelled.
I had never been afraid to speak the truth before. The Council was watching everything with disapproval and I knew it could cause problems, but I just couldn't keep quiet, this was outrageous.
Dominic couldn't believe it either. I can see that most of the pack look lost; they don't understand what could be happening between their alphas. Our uncle looks unimpressed, and our aunt is attentive. Did they know? About Logan's plans?
But the ones who seem really pleased are undoubtedly the men of the Council. I have no words to describe how much I despise these men. They were enjoying this so fucking much!
"I have my reasons for this decision," says Logan, who doesn't look entirely convinced either. By now, all I really wanted to see was blood.
"And what might those reasons be? As our brother said, would you go against the wishes of the Goddess herself?" Dominic's voice booms everywhere.
"Everything I have done and will do has always been for our pack. Nothing should be above any goal or whim," he says as if it's nothing, and I roar.
"Yeah sure! What the fuck?"
"Whim? She is no whim! You felt the bond yourself!" Dominic yells again.
"I didn't feel it. This is all the work of witchcraft and sorcery," Logan replies, his face clouding as what he says is a complete lie. But he manages to get everyone's attention. They gasp in shock and concern; I hear whispers from the rest of the pack. Oh no, no no.
"Magic?"
"Can the bond be faked?"
"A human mate?" I hear here and there, and it's our uncle who has to restore order.
"Come on Logan! You motherfucker!" I yell, Robin and Maddie cry, the twins are like crazy, this is a disaster. My uncle starts to scream, trying to control this mess.
"Silence! Silence! Logan, you have to explain this well, because the Council itself decided in favor of you being with your human mate, but now you bring us different information, and I'm lost, I don't know what you're talking about," Oscar demands.
"As I said, Uncle, my brothers have fallen victim to sorcery. There's no way the Moon Goddess would have given us, the only Alpha triplets, the three dragons, sons of an Alpha and a warrior Luna... such weak mate," he explains and I hear Maddie sobbing. I move closer to hug her and comfort her.
She shouldn't have to hear any of this, but it couldn't be otherwise. This is Logan's fault.
"We are in trouble brother, we must do something" Dominic speaks in my mind. But of course, the council take advantage. They hate us, I'm sure now. They should not be here.
"I have to say that what Alpha Logan is presenting doesn't seem entirely wrong. We had acted on the assumption that she was the true Luna of this pack. But Alpha... How do you explain what is happening with your brothers, who have even gone against you, claiming that she is their mate?" asks one of the council, and my brother Dominic immediately jumps in.
"Of course she is our mate! We felt it from the moment we were reunited with her! She was captured by the enemy, and her scent made my wolf, Damiano, assure me that there's no one else but her," his voice echoes through the place, and a howl can be heard. His wolf confirms it's true.
"Ajax too!" I cry, howling.
My poor wolf can't believe what he's hearing, and if he wasn't next to our mate, I think he'd go out and kill them all. Luckily, the twins are on our side, Robin is close to Maddie, who is shocked at what she's hearing.
"My wolf doesn't recognize her," Logan says, and a deep, terrible howl comes from inside him.
It's obvious that Morgan disagrees, but our silly brother manages to hold his gaze and control his body with frankly remarkable precision, and everyone in the pack is impressed.
"Could it be that she's not his mate?"
"Then what are we up against?"
"Shut the fuck up, Logan! You are a disgrace!" I yell.
I am aware that all this hurts us, it makes us look like alphas opposed to each other, divided, weak. And our pack too. Is this what the council wants? Then, why does our uncle seem to collaborate with this?
"The pack is divided; I can see it clearly," Ajax whispers, and that worries me. The pack must remain united, no matter what happens. Now, uncle must realize this too, because he intervenes immediately.
"You said the pack comes first, nephew. Explain why you went to so much trouble to present another mate we didn't know you preferred.
"It was a logical decision. Alpha... Madeleine, the human, is too weak. She has shown this on several occasions. She was kidnapped, and it's impossible for her to carry out the duties of the pack, let alone have three powerful Alphas as mates, not to mention the possibility of having children. Irina... she's a respectable wolf; she's the one who can be our Luna,' Logan replies and I'm red with anger.
"She's a weak human!"
"It must be a trick!"
"What are we going to do?" I hear the voices in the pack and my heart is in my mouth.
