Chapter 112: Traitorous Alphas

Maddie

"Do you think we're fools? That we'll just come back after how hard it was for us to escape?"

"You've completely lost your mind, uncle! The pack will find out about this!" my mates shout, still defiant.

"So you admit you ran away? That you abandoned your pack! That's treason! And believe me, the pack will know about this, today!" Oscar yell as my mates struggle with the warriors. The councilmen look satisfied.

"Treason? You accuse us of treason? You are the one who turned against your own family, your own blood! You betrayed us and our mate! You drugged and imprisoned us! There's no way you didn't know what happened during the ritual! That she was brought here! We saw them keep her in the old temple! You're in on it, you miserable wretch!" Dominic shouted, striking at the guards, but more appeared. Oscar's expression was one of surprise, but he quickly put on his "Big Alpha" mask.

"Yes, traitors... and Lionel is also accused of treason, he helped you to scape. Do you want something to happen to him?" he whisperes menacingly.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Kurt growls.

"If you don't come back, I guarantee you that not only you will pay for your disobedience. The whole pack will suffer!"

"Would you really attack your own packmates? Our beta?!" No, not Lionel, Robin cries.

"We should never have been prisoners in our own pack, damn it! Maddie should never have suffered like that!"

"You were prisoners because you wouldn't accept that your brother was Alpha, wouldn't accept that the human had bewitched you! And look at the consequences. Do you really want to risk the boy?" Oscar threaten, and I was in shock. Robin screams and cries in fear.

"Lionel, no! My mate!" she said, falling to her knees as they restrain her. I want to go to her side, to hold her, but they wouldn't let me.

"That's a low blow, Uncle, really low," Dominic growls, but I knew it. Oscar had us in his hands.

"We know it's a trap, but if we don't go, Oscar will make others pay for our decisions," Dominic murmurs at his brother. He looks at me with despair, and I know what he was thinking: that they had brought me to their pack for protection, and I'd had everything but that. But I had chosen to be with them. At one point, I even thought it was my place.

"If you're so sure of your innocence, nephews, come and prove it in the pack. Show as true alphas that you're not involved in this and that she is your Luna as you claim, but I doubt it," the man say, and my mates were worry and angry. We were trapped with no way out.

"There are still wolves in the pack who believe in us. If we don't go back, we'll lose all the support we have. We can't let Oscar destroy everything from the inside. And Lionel..." Dominic whispered. The warriors now angrily grabbing them and holding them.

"Take them away! Don't let them talk to each other!" Oscar order.

"Don't hurt our mate! Let her go!" Dominic shouts as they hold me down and I struggle.

"You bastard! Piece of shit!" Kurt yells, and Oscar punched him in the face, making my mate bleed.

"Enough, uncle!" Dominic snaps angrily.

"No, Kurt, no..." I tremble with fear. They start to take us away, and the little wolf roars, wanting to attack the men. He began to howl, following us, and the warriors kick him, but he kept going.

"Let's go! Quickly! The rest of the council is waiting for us in Moonvalley. And for goodness’s sake, finish off that silly wolf!" Oscar demand, and I beg.

"No! Leave him! Run, little wolf, run!" I yell, and the animal do as I say and run off. The men chase after him, and I pray they wouldn't find him. They put us in black cars, and Robin was by my side, but my mates were in another. After all we had suffered and fought for, we ended up here.

"My mates... Lionel, Liam..." Robin sobs next to me as I try to comfort her.

"We're going to get through this, Robin, all of us. My mates won't let anything happen to Lionel, and Liam... he's strong. He'll find a way out and be free of this madness," I whisper. We travel for hours, and when we arrive at the pack, I start to worry. I saw the warriors violently dragging my mates out as they writhed. They were tied up, and I bet those ropes had wolfsbane in them.

"Stay here and don't do anything stupid, or he'll pay the price," Oscar command, and we saw that he had Lionel, badly beaten, barely able to stand.

"Mate!" Lionel shouted in relief when he saw Robin. She broke free of our captors and ran to embrace him.

"My mate, my love," she sobs and hugs him, and Lionel cries with her. It comforted me to see them together. We didn't know if this was the end or not.

"I'm sorry, Alphas... as soon as you left, Irina took control. When she found out what happened..." Lionel says, blood dripping from his nose. Irina... that awful woman hates me.

"Don't worry, mate, we can handle this," Kurt says, still struggling with the ropes. They left us in a hallway, trapped and alone.

"What are we going to do?" I question.

"We can't let Oscar put us in this position. The pack is already fractured, and if we break the laws, it'll be even worse," Dominic explains.

"But he'll blame you for interrupting the ritual. Everything I've done in the forest for days will mean nothing. I can't let Oscar or anyone else decide my fate," I reply.

"You're right, mate, and we won't. We'll convince the pack that this is unfair, that you've fulfilled your role as Luna. It's been days since you left, and we only arrived with you a few hours ago. And there's the wolf, a wild wolf was with you," Dominic explains.

"That's right, you survived for so long, on your own, through your own efforts. You are our Luna," Kurt insists.

I suppose that made sense, but the question was whether the pack would agree. These were the same people who had voted to send me to that cursed ritual and denied me as Luna. Besides, the Council and Oscar would be pushing their agenda, and we already knew they weren't on our side. Those men had tried to kill me several times! I had heard them myself.

I quickly took the opportunity to tell my mates what had happened during those days and how I had survived. I saw how anger and rage filled their bodies, and they were already growling when we hear Oscar.

"Where the hell is Logan? Why is he not here?" the old Alpha shouts angrily. But someone else appears, someone I didn't want to see, someone who was very high on my list of enemies.

"Hello, my alphas, we meet again," Irina says with satisfaction, looking at my mates with desire before giving me a malicious look.
